UFO news article:
“Residents report odd lights”

17 November 1994
(The Taos News, New Mexico)

The whole article:
“If you happened to be outside at night last September and saw a strange glowing object moving across the sky, you were not alone.

People from New Mexico to Alaska have reported seeing a large number of unidentified flying objects, enough to be called a major ‘flap’ by officials of the UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington.

Incidents were reported above Amor Lane near Taos High School and at other areas in Taos in September, according to a story in the Monday (Nov. 14) issue of The Santa Fe New Mexican.

Maida Martinez, her husband Toby, and Eric Tafoya of Taos all reported seeing an object described as a ‘bright, white light, accompanied by about a dozen smaller lights’ flying low over populated areas of Taos.

Air Force bases in New Mexico and the Federal Aviation Administration in Albuquerque declined to comment on the sightings.

Northern New Mexico and southern Colorado have bee the center of dozens of UFO sightings since the late 1960s, some apparently linked to reports of cattle mutilations.”

UFO Article:
“The Pentagon Explains WHY They
Changed Past UFO Statements”

By John Greenewald, Jr., 9 January 2020
(The Black Vault, Castaic, California)

The article reports on how Pentagon has changed its statements about the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).

To tell a nation’s citizens what goes on in the skies does not reveal sources and methods, as far as I am concerned.

So why are so many governments around the world so afraid of telling us what flies around in the airspace (and in space) above the Earth – and from time to time, land on the ground?

In my opinion – most governments (at least many military officials) know full well that unknown, seemingly manufactured objects fly around in our skies and enter our seas, oceans and lakes at will!

The citizenry in every nation have the right to be informed about the UFO situation at all times.

UFO Article (Blog):
“Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Admits to ‘TOP SECRET’ Records and ‘SECRET’ Video From USS Nimitz ‘Tic Tac’ UFO Incident”

By Paul Dean, 8 January 2020
(UFOs – Documenting The Evidence, Melbourne, Australia)

Quote from the article:
“Evidently, the ONI’s response contains numerous issues worth raising. The ONI reviewed their ‘records and systems’ but found ‘no releasable records’ regarding the USS Nimitz ‘Tic Tac’ UFO event. At first glance, this implies that they have nothing themselves to release. But interpreted slightly differently, the statement could also suggest that they in fact do have internal, homegrown records, but those records off limits. This, however, seems unlikely, due to the candid admissions that come next. During these searches, ONI discovered records originating from another agency. Designated as ‘briefing slides’, these items were deemed to be ‘classified TOP SECRET’ under the well-worn Executive Order 13526, and the originating authority determined that they must stay that way. The reasons given relate, firstly, to ‘Intelligence Activities of the United States’ and ‘Sources and Methods’ which are used to collection national security information, and, secondly, to ‘Scientific and Technological Matters’ related, again, to national security. Finally, the ONI admits to possessing a video which is currently classified ‘SECRET’. Again, the ONI has no authority to declassify it, but they did at least confess to who does. The originating agency is acknowledged as the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).”

UFO News Article (Blog):
“Ex Navy boss stumped by UFOs”

By Billy Cox, 9 January 2020
(De Void, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Florida)

Quote from the article:
Milestone: This is De Void’s first UFO story to make the Herald-Tribune’s print edition. Please note the direct style, as well as the paucity of adverbs and meaningless tangents.

SARASOTAAmerica’s former Chief of Naval Operations stated on Thursday that the unidentified flying objects that appeared to have outperformed Navy fighter pilots on videos recorded in 2004 and 2015 remain a mystery.

‘I’ve seen the videos and, at least in my time, most of the assessments were inconclusive as to what it was,’ said retired Admiral Gary Roughead, following a speaking engagement in Sarasota. ‘But the whole issue of defense against autonomous vehicles is one that the Department is taking pretty darned seriously.’

Three sets of gun-camera videos – one taken from an F-18 assigned to the USS Nimitz operating off southern California in November 2004, and two more from Super Hornets attached to the USS Roosevelt during maneuvers off Jacksonville in January 2015 – were authenticated as official government footage by the Defense Department last year.”

UFO Report:
“The 1963 UFO Chronology”

Created: 14 May 2006
Updated: 17 March 2017
(NICAP.org)

Quote from the UFO report:
“This is an 8-page chronology of UFO incidents for 1963. From August 4th into mid-month, there was a flurry of UFO sightings, mostly in southern Illinois. An advertising plane in the Chicago area caused some erroneous reports about the same time. Once the reports had been publicized, the planet Jupiter also was reported as a UFO on a few occasions. Our Vincennes, Indiana, NICAP Subcommittee investigated several of the key cases, submitting taped interviews and investigation reports. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to our documentation team: William Wise (Project Blue Book Archive), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns). Last, but not least, our thanks to Jean Waskiewicz who created the online NICAP DBase (NSID) that helped make it possible to link from the cases to the reports themselves.

“Rotating Object & Animal Reaction
Feb. 15, 1963
Willow Grove, Australia”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Keith Basterfield:
February 15, 1963; Willow Grove, Australia
7:10 hrs local time. Farmer Charles Brew and his son Trevor were in a milking shed, milking a herd of cows. Charles saw an object descend very steeply out of the east out of low cloud, at about a forty-five degree angle. The object was described as about 25 feet in diameter, and about 9-10 feet high. The lower portion, about three feet high, was rotating in an anti-clockwise direction, and was of a bluish appearance. The upper portion of the object appeared to be stationary; battleship grey in colour, with a transparent dome on top. Protruding out of this dome was something which resembled a broom handle. A sound, described as a ‘swishing’ or ‘burbling’ was heard by Charles and also by Trevor. Trevor did not see the object due to his position in the milking shed. The weather at the time was described as low cloud, with rain. Visibility was poor with no thunder or lightning. The wind Charles said, was from the east. The object travelled across the sky, and using a tree for a reference, Charles estimated the object came as close as 75 feet. When due north of him, it hovered over a tree for a few seconds, and then took off to the W at a very fast speed, at an estimated 45 degree angle and lost in the low cloud. The total duration was 15-16 seconds. Cows, and a nearby horse, reacted by running away from the shed area. Charles reported he had a headache (an unusual occurrence for him) following the event, which lasted a day. He also reported a slight drop in milk production from the herd, over the week following the incident. (Sources: (1) RAAF file series A703, control symbol 580-1-1 part 4, pp373-390. UFO Case Report (E-mail):
“Subject: Merced CA, April 4, 1949”

By Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist, 3 December 2005
(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:

At 10:20 PM, the witness and his dog went outdoors. The witness heard an intense clicking sound coming from the sky and saw a dark object as it moved against the background of stars. The witness described his dog’s reaction as follows: ‘My dog was with me and directed her attention in the general direction of this object’s flight throughout its course. She had been romping with me on coming out of the house but without spoken word [she] stopped and directed her attention to the previously described area [dark object flight path].’

The sighting:

This sighting is listed as a Blue Book unknown.

Weather: Castle AFB weather station reported thin/broken clouds at 20,000 feet, 12 mile visibility and surface winds as north at 9 mph. The witness reported his area (1 mile west of Merced and 7 miles south of Castle AFB) was more sheltered and had no appreciable surface wind.

The witness is a Major in the Active USAF Reserves. He is a pilot, with 2200 hours flight time, including night flying in WWII.  He reported the sighting to the Intelligence Officer at Castle Field.

Duration of sighting: 35-45 seconds (including sound and visual)

The witness came outdoors with his dog and heard a ‘clicking noise of considerable intensity.’ He stopped, locating the sound as coming from the sky about 40 degrees from eastern horizon.  He observed a dark shape moving against the background of stars in a flight path to the West or NW.

He described the object as a solid mass whose size he estimated as 4-5 feet in diameter and whose altitude he estimated as considerably less than 1,000 feet.  On two occasions the reflection of streetlights, located ½ block behind the witness, made the object appear to have a dull-surface and one of light colored metal. Also, the reflection of the streetlights off the surface of the object made the witness think that the under-surface was curved. No exhaust trail was seen. No lights or flame observed. No whistle or roar, only a clicking sound that maintained the same pitch and speed, but altered in loudness (see below). The clicking sound was compared to the beaters of a home mixer that were not properly meshed.

The dark object moved slowly going the West or NW, made a 90-degree-arc turn to the South or SW. The clicking sound became louder on the new heading. The clicking sound stopped when it was the loudest (seemingly overhead relative to the witness) and the witness was unable to detect the object after the sound ceased.

No EM effects or physiological effects were reported.

UFO Case Report (E-mail):
“Subject: Emden MO, July 13, 1973”

By Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist, 11 April 2006
(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
A dog that was normally outdoors at night and that normally barked at and chased any animal that came near the house, began barking at 3:30 AM. This barking was unusual, described as a ‘scared’ bark, causing the witness to get up and see what was happening.

The dog was barking at a glowing object and would not leave the porch. Normally in that situation, the dog would take off after whatever had attracted its attention. The witness stated that this night the dog was clearly afraid and continued barking from the porch and would not leave the porch.

The witness also noted he heard cattle bellowing on a hill, and when the light moved off, he heard neighbor’s dogs start barking. [No information was given on the location of the cattle or of the neighbor’s house relative to witness and the unknown light.—jw]

The Sighting:
The object was described as egg shaped or oblong, about the size of an average car.  It had a 3-dimensional appearance, ‘like you could look through it, or right into it.’  The outside was orange and toward the center it was brighter and a slightly different color.  The colors were described as similar to setting sun but not dark enough to be considered red. The night was very quiet with no wind.

The witness made an effort to hear any sound from the object but heard nothing.  He noted that even when the object started moving, he still could hear nothing.

The object, judging by a tree in front of it, was estimated to be 20 feet or less from the ground and was in the area of a clearing. It remained still and in view for about 10 minutes. Then  the witness’s wife, watching from indoors while he watched from the porch, turned on house lights. At that point, the object flickered slightly and started moving away slowly and steadily, maintaining its low altitude. It speed was estimated as 5 mph and it was moving in a northwest direction. The object was lost to sight after after 20 seconds as it became obscured by trees. The witness heard the neighbor’s dogs start barking about 3 minutes later. [The only direction indicated was that the glowing object disappeared moving to the NW. Using YourSky (fourmilab.ch/yoursky/) to see if any bright objects were near the horizon at the time of the sighting, I found Mars was roughly 35° in the SE sky, unlikely a factor.  However, the 97% illuminated moon was due to set  4:05 AM (verified with USNO) and would have been very near the horizon SW horizon. I cannot say the setting moon was or was not involved in this sighting without directions and knowledge of the topography. The witness reports the dog was reacting in the direction of the glowing object, suggesting something was happening other than the moon setting. However, it is always possible that the dog was reacting to something other than what the witness was watching.—jw]

My comment:
The October 1975 Espevær (island), Norway, UFO landing incident involved dogs that barked hysterically. Several dog owners said their dogs had never earlier reacted like they did that evening.

UFO Case Directory (IMCAT):
“Skylab III Photo Incident
September 20, 1973
In Orbit, Over SW Indian Ocean”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Fran Ridge:
Sept. 20, 1973; In orbit over Indian Ocean
During revolution # 1863. Astronauts Alan Bean, Owen Garriott and Jack Lousma spotted what they described as a red ‘satellite’, which they photographed (4 color photos) and mentioned during a subsequent debriefing. We have radio conversation (transcript only) with Houston CapCom about 4.5 hours after the sighting of this object. There was no man-made satellite that could explain this sighting and hence the object was truly anomalous. This case is multiply-listed as a Cat 8 (photo), Cat 11 (sighting from air/spacecraft), and flagged as a NASA incident. 10 mins. Distance from Skylab was 25-30 miles. Estimated diameter was 800 feet.

Joel Carpenter:
One of the things that’s so darn fascinating about this case is something that Dr Maccabee and Brad Sparks bring up in the article on Maccabee’s site. One interpretation of the sighting is that the object was approaching on an orbit in a 51 or 52 degree inclination and about to intersect with Skylab’s 50 degree (but much higher) orbit. They mention that that inclination was used by the Soviets. But actually, they often used 65 degrees. 51 degrees was used for certain very specific flights: the Salyut space stations and the manned Soyuz ships that docked with them. At the time of the sighting, Salyut-1 and Salyut-2 had been flown, and both had failed. Salyut-2 was launched in April 1973 and was actually the top secret Almaz military station, the counterpart of the US MOL reconnaissance space station. Salyut-2 had recon gear aboard, but failed before it was manned for the first time, about 2 weeks after it was launched.

Brad Sparks:
Skylab-3 remains a mystery with the color photos and optical ranging yielding an approximate 800-foot size of the space UFO, much larger than the largest satellite then in space (the 150-foot Skylab-3). [Sparks interviewed Skylab-3 astronaut Dr. Owen Garriott shortly after the return to earth - Fran Ridge].”

My comment:
“There was no man-made satellite that could explain this sighting and hence the object was truly anomalous,” Francis L. Ridge writes. This means that this is one of the UFO cases that prove that UFOs are as real as airliners flying overhead.
