Translation of News Article From ‘CLARIN,’ Buenos Aires,
July 7, 1965 (NICAP.org text):

(NICAP.org)

Quote from the news article:
“Numerous Personnel of the Antarctic bases of three nations: Argentina, Chile and Great Britain, in conditions of optimum visibility, observed (on 3 July 1965) the maneuvers of an unidentified ‘Flying Object.’ So state official communications from the area, including one from the Secretary of the Navy of our country. Independently, the ‘Clarin’ has communicated directly with the Decepcion Base, obtaining from the base commander the details of the sighting.

Santiago, Chile. 6 (Cables of AP AFP Reuter, ANSA y ‘Clarin Agency’) Argentine, British and Chilean military and scientific personnel sighted an unidentified flying object which gave off or glowed with a white light, at high altitude and came at considerable speed in a Southeast direction. The release indicates the object flew a zig-zag path and appeared to hover momentarily suspended in the air. The information caused commotion, when released to the public.”

UFO news article:
“UFO Sightings Are Reported In Venice Area”

31 August 1976
(Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Florida)

Quote from the article:
“Two Venice residents reported seeing unidentified flying objects (UFO) late Saturday and early Sunday (28 and 29 August 1976).

Lori Nyland, 233 Warfield St., Venice, told the Herald-Tribune she saw lights in the sky on three occasions late Saturday night between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Kathy Shane, 232 S. Grove St., Venice, reported seeing fast moving lights in a V-formation in the pre-dawn darkness at 6 a.m. She described the sightings as, ‘A flock of geese all lit up.’

The sightings both occurred in the industrial section of Venice near U.S. 41 and Venice Farms Road.

Nyland told the Herald -Tribune she did not believe in UFOs before she saw a single oval-shaped white light moving up and down a few inches above the trees on U.S. 41.

‘Then it just disappeared.’

She said she again saw the light when she was approaching her apartment. The second sighting was similar to the first, but a third sighting consisted of five lights in a V-formation moving across the sky and then zig-zagging just above the nearby tree tops.

Before this weekend’s sightings the most recent area UFO sighting was in June when DeSoto County residents reported seeing an orange, yellow and red UFO in the farmlands near Arcadia.’ ”

UFO News Article:
“Policeman, UFO Play Tag”

16 November 1973
(Miami News-Record, Oklahoma)

Source: NewspaperArchive.com

The whole article:
“A western Oklahoma police officer said an unidentified flying object played tag with his patrol car early today [16 November 1973] and another UFO landed on the highway behind him when he wasn’t looking.

‘We were watching one of them up in the air and everywhere we would go, it would go,’ Erick Patrolman John Roberts reported. ‘Then I looked in the rear view mirror and there was another one. It had landed on the road about 500 yards behind us.’

Roberts said he and his companions, Freddie Ross and Preston Crosby, both 17 and Erick residents, tried to approach the UFO that landed but it disappeared.

‘Just as we turned around, it was just like somebody had switched off a light switch,’ he said. ‘It was gone.’

The other UFO remained in view about 45 minutes, he said.

‘The one that stayed up was like a bright red and was a sort of pulsating light,’ Roberts said. ‘It would get real bright and then go dim and then bright again. It finally turned a sort of burnt orange.

‘The one I saw in the rear view mirror was a real brilliant blue and it had a constant glow. It was so bright we couldn’t make out any shape to it.’

Roberts said he was on patrol when two youths called his attention to the light in the sky.

‘The one we watched the longest would sort of dart in and out when we moved,’ he said. ‘When we would go toward it, then it would move away. When we went the other way, it was right with us.

‘Sometimes it would zig-zag out in front of us and dart around. Finally it just got a way off and disappeared.’

Roberts said the movements of the objects were ‘too sharp’ for them to have been helicopters of airplanes.

‘I can’t explain what they were but I am convinced there is some sort of UFOs out there,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t believe anything else after what I saw this morning.’ ”

My comment:
A similar UFO incident that also involved police officers occurred in Brownsville, Texas, on 14 November 1973.

The UFO followed the car for 32 kilometres (20 miles). When the driver stopped the car, the unknown object also would stop and when the car speeded up, the unknown object followed suit.

Law enforcement officers in Harlingen and San Benito also sighted the UFO.

Brownsville is the southernmost city in Texas.

UFO DNA UFO case report:
8 August 1977 23:00
29 Palms, California , USA

Source: NUFORC.org

The whole UFO case report:
“I was in the Marines and stationed at Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, CA in the Summer of 1977. I and some friends were at a Drive-In movie located in the town of 29 Palms outside the base. It was pretty late at night. The movie screen was located about 5 feet away on the other side of 5' high wooden fence that surrounded the parking area. I just happened to look off to the upper right hand side of the screen and noticed that something was hovering, with multi-colored blinking lights, above a darkened building, about a mile away on the outskirts of town. (29 Palms, CA) I thought to myself, ‘What the heck is a helicopter doing hovering over a building out in town?’ I was used to seeing all kinds of helicopters on the base.

I then noticed that it continued to hover, there was no sound or sand being kicked up. It appeared to be a ball of multi-colored blinking lights. I couldn’t discern a shape. I absent mindedly started walking towards the fence to get a better look. I then noticed that many other people in the Drive-In saw it too and got out of their cars. The UFO then started to rise straight up, silently. It did not flair out at an angle like a helicopter would. It kept going up until it appeared to be the size and color of a star. It then started zig-zagging across the sky while still going up, until it finally disappeared.

I found out later that at the same time, people located on the other side (to the left of the screen) of the drive-in area, saw two UFOs hovering over a mountain, located to the left of the screen. They reported that the 2 UFOs they saw, also rose straight up, silently, and zig-zagged while going up until they were out of site. I thought to myself, ‘I have to call the Base and tell someone!’ But I didn’t have any idea as to who to call. We all talked about it the next day. I called a friend, who now lives in N. Carolina, after 25 years and he still remembered the incident.

((NUFORC Note: Date of incident may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact. PD))”

UFO News Article:
“Spot UFO’s Near Alton Two Nights”

8 November 1966
(The Gazette-Virginian, South Boston, Virginia)

Source: Fold3.com, Lindon, Utah

The whole article:
“Sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFO’s) were reported in the Alton-Turbeville area on separate occasions Friday and Sunday evenings.

Mrs. Annie Long of Alton said a huge object larger than a 6-room house flew over her house from behind trees, emitted violet to red lights in revolving fashion, and then shot straight upwards ‘like lightning.’ She said she was frightened as she watched the UFO for about 10 minutes around 10 p.m. Friday night.

A Danville couple, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. McDowell were returning home Sunday about 7 p.m. from Alton, and shortly after turning into Route 58 sighted an object that McDowell said was going east to west, and that they watched it for about 10 minutes. It had a red glow and was on a fairly fast course. They were sure it was not an airplane.

Stopping at Shifflet’s store about five miles west of Turbeville, they stopped at the Landrum home off the highway, still sighting the first object when a second one came into view, giving off red and white lights and going on a zig-zag course. They reported it to the Landrums, and the Landrum couple, two daughters and Donna Shifflet, saw both objects.

Judy Landrum, 17-year-old Halifax County High senior, took up the narrative from there.

‘It was zig-zagging, funny-like. It was red, then white, and I didn’t hear it make any sounds.’

Like Mrs. Long, was she frightened? ‘No,’ replied Judy, ‘I wanted to see it land to see what it looked like.’ ”

UFO Case Directory:
“Category 1, Distant Encounters
Zig-Zagging Object Lands / Takes Off
Jan. 27, 1965
Hampton (Plum Tree Island), Virginia”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Dan Wilson:
Jan. 27, 1965; Plum Tree Island (Hampton), Virginia (BB)
6:00 p.m. EST. A NASA research engineer, A. G. Crimmins (located at Hampton) observed an object that was approximately 75 feet across and 10 to 15 feet in height. The object had 3 to 7 lights colored red and orange. The object appeared to rotate. The object first appeared at an azimuth of 20 degrees and a maximum of 75 feet of elevation. The object moved approximately 1/4 mile west of the original position on a zigzag course and then appeared to land on the shore. It remained fixed for approximately five minutes. The object then took off to the north and then turned right to depart to the east at a high rate of speed. The object was viewed through 20-power binoculars. There were apparently other reports of similar sightings in the same area at approximately the same time. (UFOE II, Section IV).

Fran Ridge:
Jan. 27, 1965; Plum Tree Island (Hampton), Virginia (BB)
While in the process of documenting the Jan. 23, 1965 E-M case at Lightfoot, Virginia (N. of Williamsburg) I found that among the witnesses in this mini-flap there were two NASA research engineers, A. G. Crimmins and Maj. John Nayadley, a retired AF jet pilot. ‘I watched it through binoculars,’ Crimmins stated. ‘It was zigzagging as if searching for a landing spot. I could see flashing lights on the edge or rim of a rapidly rotating disc.’ The UFO made a touch landing, then climbed steeply out of sight. Without any checkup, AF Headquarters hurriedly explained it as a helicopter the NASA engineers failed to recognize in their excitement. Too late. HQ learned that Langley AFB had ruled this out – no helicopters were flying in the area. (NICAP files)”

NICAP.org presents U.S. government (U.S. Air Force) documents that pertain to the UFO case.
