Dec. 6, 1950; Northeast Area of the United States
10:30 a.m. For an hour the United States military was under a condition of national emergency. Two days later the FBI was informed that the Army’s Counter Intelligence Corps had been placed on Immediate High Alert for any information related to flying saucers. Were these two documented events related?”

Dr. Bruce Maccabee talked about this case (at 28:30) during a Coast To Coast AM radio show (youtube.com) on 28 September 2014.

UFO Radio Interview:
“George Knapp: Document Leaks That
Prove UFOs are Interplanetary Craft”

Video text:
“COAST TO COAST AM - ORIGINAL SHOW DATE - 2014/09/28
Not only have the FBI and CIA investigated UFOs, but both agencies have actively tried to conceal this from the public. Dr. Bruce Maccabee, U.S. research physicist, joined George Knapp to discuss his study of FOIA releases and document leaks, which, when combined with evidence collected by Air Force Intelligence, prove that at least some UFOs are interplanetary craft, he believes. He learned the FBI vacillated on their responses to UFOs, at times claiming they were Soviet missiles, other times suggesting they were all explainable phenomena. Under Hoover, the FBI could be highly interested in Air Force UFO reports, going so far as to investigate military UFO witnesses, then at other periods showing no interest in the subject at all, Maccabee recounted.”

NOTE: Maccabee talks about the impressive 6 December 1950
U.S. East Coast UFO case at 28:30.

UFO News Article:
“Hampton Roads’ long, strange history with UFOs”

2 August 2019
(Daily Press, Newport News, Virginia)

Hampton Roads, Virginia, UFO sightings can be traced as far back as 1813. A tavern owner in Portsmouth claimed to have sighted “a ball of fire” which manoeuvred over Norfolk County. He even sent a letter to former U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, where he told about the sighting, the Daily Press reports.

Wikipedia article: “Hampton Roads”:

Quote from the Wikipedia article:
Hampton Roads is the name of both a body of water that serves as a wide channel for the James, Nansemond and Elizabeth rivers between Old Point Comfort and Sewell’s Point where the Chesapeake Bay flows into the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding metropolitan region located in the Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina portions of the Tidewater region.

Comprising the Virginia Beach–Norfolk–Newport News, VA–NC metropolitan area and an extended Combined Statistical Area that includes the Elizabeth City, NC Micropolitan Statistical Area and Kill Devil Hills, NC Micropolitan Statistical Area, Hampton Roads is known for its large military presence, ice-free harbor, shipyards, coal piers, and miles of waterfront property and beaches, all of which contribute to the diversity and stability of the region’s economy.

The body of water known as Hampton Roads is one of the world's largest natural harbors (more accurately a roadstead or ‘roads’). It incorporates the mouths of the Elizabeth, Nansemond, and James rivers, together with several smaller rivers, and empties into the Chesapeake Bay near its mouth leading to the Atlantic Ocean.[1][2]”
