UFO News Article:
“Colorado cow mutilations baffle
ranchers, cops, UFO believer”,
9 December 2009 (The Denver Post, Colorado)

The Denver Post reports on the cattle mutilations that occurred on the ranches of Manual Sanchez, Tom Miller and Mike Duran in 2009:

Manuel Sanchez experienced four cattle mutilations on his ranch. The ranch is situated east of San Luis, Colorado. Sanchez found two mutilated calves on 25 October and two more on 9 and 16 November 2009.

Furthermore, Sanchez says he and his wife marvelled at incandescent blue lights hovering over a ridge near his pastures in July and August 2009.

Tom Miller who runs a ranch east of Trinidad, Colorado found a mutilated calf on 17 March 2009.

Mike Duran’s ranch is situated west of Weston, Colorado. He found one mutilated cow on 8 March 2009. Duran says in the article that some of the cuts on the cow looked like laser cuts.

Tom Miller’s neighbour, Colorado Brand Inspector Dennis Williams, looked at Miller’s mutilated calf. Williams says that to him, it looked like the calf had been dropped from a high distance, because its hips were dislocated and many of the bones were broken.

UFO/animal mutilation researcher Chuck Zukowski ruled out that predators killed any of the cattle. The tongues were sliced off in straight lines back behind the teeth. That indicates that it is not a predator kill, Zukowski says in the article.

No tracks or footprints were found near any of these mutilated cattle, either, according to the article.

All three ranchers have earlier experienced cattle mutilations: Sanchez in 1993 and 2006, Miller in 1980 and 1997 and Duran in 1995 and 2000.

KRQE News 13 reports on a 130-page FBI cattle mutilation file that reveals that the federal agency was deeply involved in investigating cattle mutilation cases in the U.S. in the late 1970s:

http://www.krqe.com/dpp/news/on_assignment/old-cattle-mutilation-stumped-feds

The FBI probed into cattle mutilation cases in New Mexico and many other states from the west coast to the Midwest.

Bobby Pierce, deputy director for the New Mexico Livestock Board – says the Livestock Board was unable to explain five percent of the cattle mutilations that occurred in the late 1970s.

The FBI got involved at the urging of New Mexico Senator Harrison Schmitt, according to the article/TV news report.

Quote from the introduction to the FBI Animal Mutilation Project:
“Various theories concerning the origins of the mutilations were explored by the FBI, including … UFOs, …”

And the FBI has named the Web page address, “ufoanim”!

It is interesting to note that this text has later been removed from the FBI website.
