This is an article on three UFO incidents that occurred in the Vologda (Oblast) region (Soviet Union) in 1989:

The UFO sightings were made in Cherepovets (not Cherepovetsk) (24 April), (near) Konantsevo (6 June) and Vologda (11 June).

The city of Vologda, Russia, is situated 409 kilometres (254 miles) north-east of Moscow. Cherepovets (city) is located 113 kilometres (70 miles) west of Vologda and Konantsevo (village)
is located ca. 127 kilometres (79 miles) south-east of Vologda.
