UFO Case Report:
“Subject: Ramona, California, October 15, 1974”

1 October 2005
By Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist
(NICAP.org)

The case involves possible U.S. Navy jets.

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
Witnesses noted numerous animal reactions when a circular object flew overhead. The object’s altitude was not estimated, but the object appeared to have landed on a hillside before rising and flying overhead.

·        Horses excitedly whinnied and bucked, one kicked a rail off a fence.
·        One chained dog ran excitedly in and out of its doghouse, sometimes smashing into the back of the doghouse with great force.
·        Another dog grasped the sleeve of a girl and tried to pull her into the house.
·        Goats were reported to be ‘jumping around.’
·        Chickens were cackling in the dark and scrambling about.
·        A cat ran into the side of a garage, stunning itself.

The sighting:
In the evening, after dark, five young people saw a round object maneuvering over Santa Maria Valley. [Checking a topographic map, Ramona, where the witnesses were located, is in the Santa Maria Valley. The valley is described by the local Iron Mountain Conservancy as gentle lush grasslands surrounded by low-laying hills—jw]

After maneuvering over the valley, the object landed on a hillside, gradually turned ruby red, then intensely white. A compass needle alternated erratically from north to northeast in one-second intervals while the object was on the hillside. Then the object hovered above the ground, and streaked toward the witnesses. As the object flew overhead, the animals reacted as described above, the TV had blue spots and vertical bands, the radio would not work, and the compass needle lodged itself against the glass cover.

A further description of the object was that it was ruby red with a blue halo around it as it flew overhead. The sound of the object was described as ‘a mix between a hum an a fog-horn.’ [The distance of the landing site from the witnesses is not estimated. Exactly when the sound was heard is unclear—throughout the sighting or only when the object flew overhead?—jw]

After the object flew over, aircraft the witnesses thought to be Navy jets followed.

Both EM effects and sound were reported. No physiological effects or traces were reported.

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO – October 1974: Jeannie, Beth, Linda and Tony Overfelt, and Pat Nelson, all of Ramona, California, had a frightening experience on the evening of the 15th as they watched a mysterious object maneuver over Santa Maria Valley. The object landed on a hillside, gradually turned ruby red, then intensely white, hovered a short time over the ground then streaked toward Country Estates. The object was perfectly round. According to the five young people, when the object flew overhead the horses began excitedly whinnying and bucking; one kicked off a fence rail. A dog grasped one of the girls by the sleeve and tried to pull her into the house.  The other dog, which was chained, ran in and out of the doghouse, often smashing into the back of the doghouse with great force.

The goats were ‘jumping around,’ and the chickens were scrambling and cackling in the dark. The cat ran with great force into the side of the garage, stunning itself. No radio or TV station would work, the TV had blue spots and vertical bands. Tony’s compass alternated erratically from north to northeast in one-second periods when the object was on the hillside, but when it flew overhead the compass needle lodged itself against the glass cover. After the object flew over, some airplanes followed, which the young people believed to be Navy jets. The object appeared to be ruby red with a blue halo around it, when moving rapidly at high elevation. Its sound was described as ‘a mix between a hum and a fog-horn.’

UFO News Article:
“Where did all the UFOs go?...”

19 March 2019
(The Kenmare News, North Dakota)

The article reports on Robert L. Hastings’ documentary film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed and the UFO incidents that occurred at Strategic Air Command (SAC) bases in the United States and military bases in the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

The bases that are mentioned in the article are F. E. Warren (located outside Cheyenne, Wyoming), Grand Forks (North Dakota), Malmstrom (Great Falls, Montana) and Minot (North Dakota) Air Force Bases.

Quote from the article:
“And since North Dakota had silos from Cavalier to the Montana line, and south to Cooperstown and Killdeer, it’s no wonder so many people reported UFOs, especially during the 1960s.

Three years ago a number of UFO sightings that had been classified, were placed into the public domain. Almost all of them were sightings that were directly related to an Air Force Base.

The same is true with these more recent Freedom of Information Act requests.”

UFO UpDates Facebook Post:
U.S. Government E-mail About AATIP,
Luis Elizondo and the Release of
the U.S. Navy UFO Videos

By Roger Glassel, 4 June 2019
(Facebook, Menlo Park, California)

Swedish UFO researcher Roger Glassel presents an e-mail sent to him by U.S. Department of Defense spokesman Christopher Sherwood. Sherwood’s title is “Public Affairs Specialist at Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs,” according to his LinkedIn page.

In this e-mail Sherwood writes (not quoted verbatim):
1) The DoD always tries to identify all aircraft in United States’ operating environment.

2) The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) pursued research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.

3) Luis Elizondo worked for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSDI), but had no responsibilities regarding the AATIP programme.

4) The three released U.S. Navy UFO videos were made releasable for research and analysis purposes by U.S. government agencies and DoD industry partners, and not for general public release.

My comments on the e-mail:
Sherwood does not provide information about what Elizondo’s OUSDI responsibilities were. Based on Elizondo’s revelations – there is no doubt that he has a lot of inside knowledge about the AATIP programme. How come he has obtained that information? And – isn’t Elizondo in legal jeopardy if he claims to have had a position within the DoD that he did not have? So – why hasn’t the U.S. Department of Defense reacted to Elizondo’s claims before?

And – the three U.S. Navy UFO videos were not supposed to be released to the public! Haven’t we seen this before? If it had not been for the efforts of Luis Elizondo and others – we would never have known about the videos. Kudos to them!

UFO Video Commentary
by U.S. Military UFO Witness:
“UFO’s??? Watch This For Facts”

Published: 21 June 2019
(Douglas M. Ducote Sr. (YouTube channel), Louisiana)

Douglas M. Ducote, Sr., comments on the 2004 and 2014-2015 U.S. Navy UFO incidents and the recent classified U.S. Department of Defense UFO briefings to members of the U.S. Congress and U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

In addition – he reveals that he personally has seen UFOs many times during his military career.

In this video, Ducote, Sr., says:
“But I’ve seen objects flying, as an aviator, that not only could I not explain what they were, but the crew members with me could not explain what they were.

I think back to my times in the military – especially in Central and South America where we would see things – we would see objects that were flying – that we had no clue. And before you could get the chance to get it on film, it would be gone. I don’t know what I saw, and as I said earlier … we don’t talk about it.”

Text from the website (https://douglasducote.com) of Douglas M. Ducote, Sr.:
“In military active duty, Mr. Ducote held two different MOS positions including 67U (CH-47 Chinook Flight Engineer) and 67N (UH-1 Huey Crew Chief). In the Army Guard, Mr. Ducote picked up another MOS of 95B (Military Police Officer) and also served 3 years as a HH-60G (Helicopter Crew Chief) in the California Air Guard. Mr. Ducote was deployed four times in direct support of combat operations for Golden Pheasant, Just Cause, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Ducote proudly served under Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush throughout his vast career. In law enforcement, Mr. Ducote served as a Training Officer with the San Mateo County, California Sheriff’s Office and with the California National Guard 670th Military Police Company.”

“UFOs CONTINUE TO VISIT
NUCLEAR ENERGY SITES”

By George D. Fawcett
(NICAP.org)

Source: http://www.ufomind.com/misc/1997/sep/d23-008.shtml

Quote from the article:
“Looking back over the years during the 40th anniversary of UFOs in modern times (JUNE 24,1987) it is interesting to note that UFOs have been seen and recorded near various atomic energy locations in this country and overseas. This link was first noticed by Captain Edward Ruppelt in 1952 and reported in a LOOK magazine article (JUNE 24, 1952) titled ‘Hunt For The Flying Saucer.’ Captain Ruppelt, who directed the U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book at that time, when viewing a folder of 63 mystifying UFO reports that had been plotted on a map of the United States discovered that it showed ‘an ominous correlation’ with the location of various atomic energy installations. LOOK magazine learned that some high ranking officers had taken note of this fact and had then held a Pentagon conference to discuss these numerous strange concentrations that have continued to this day.”

UFO News Article:
“State Author Claims UFO Cover-Up”

21 April 1984
(Hartford Courant, Connecticut)

Sources: U.F.O. Newsclipping Service, Plumerville, Arkansas and AFU.se

The article reports on the UFO book, Clear Intent (the book was retitled “The UFO Cover-Up”), and the research work of Lawrence A. Fawcett. The book is written by Fawcett and Barry J. Greenwood.

Quote from the article (Page 7):
“The Coventry police lieutenant’s interest in Unidentified Flying Objects is a serious one, and the government is just as concerned as he is, Fawcett maintains in his soon-to-be released book on the subject.

The government has been covering up dangerous activities by UFOs, says Fawcett in ‘Clear Intent: The Government Cover-up of the UFO Experience ,’ the book he wrote with Barry J. Greenwood, a postal worker in Stoneham, Mass.

Fawcett’s fascination with UFOs began in 1965, when he saw a strange glowing object floating above an electrical substation in Manchester. A flash of electricity passed between the object and the substation, Fawcett said.

Since then, he has studied reports of UFO sightings and he and others have amassed 4,000 pages of documents from the Air Force, the FBI, the CIA and the National Security Agency, which collects foreign intelligence and protects the security of Armed Forces communications.

The truth about UFOs, Fawcett said, is that they have penetrated high-security areas in Strategic Air Command bases, where unauthorized craft are not allowed.

The documents record hundreds of sightings of strange, glowing lights; mysterious, unidentified helicopters and other unexplained objects in the sky:

• ‘The object was a glowing orange light that flew on our wing at about 1 mile,’ Capt. K.E. May said in a report to his superiors at Michigan’s Wurtsmith Air Force Base on Sept. 30, 1981. ‘We attempted to close in on it and it came at us on a 90-degree intercept.’ May twice closed in on the object, but it evaded his plane, seemingly reversing direction in mid-air, and finally disappeared overhead, the report says.

• In September and October 1975, strange objects were sighted at five Strategic Air Command bases in the northern United States, reports say.

‘For two months, UFOs were coming and going with impunity at these bases,’ Fawcett said. ‘Our latest planes couldn't stop them.’

In Cascade County, Mont., the sheriff’s office released this report: ‘A local veterinarian observed a white light in the sky with a red light on the side. His observation was that the cattle in the area started howling louder than he had ever heard.’

The Strategic Air Command was almost as disturbed as the cattle. On Oct. 29, 1975, it released the following memo: ‘As a short-term measure we are directing our Northern Tier SP (special police) units to assume security option III - Security Vigilance Posture during hours of darkness.’

Reports in the book were obtained by Fawcett, Greenwood and other members of Citizens Against UFO Secrecy of New York City. Most were obtained through Freedom of Information Act suits in U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C.

‘These documents show that UFOs are real. They’re not the result of hallucinations or air balloons,’ Fawcett said. ‘They show that UFOs display a technology far beyond ours.’

A report NSA submitted for the private inspection of a U.S. appeals court judge in Washington, D.C., contends that releasing records of UFO sightings would give an enemy important information about the country’s ability to detect foreign aircraft.

When Fawcett got the report, it was so heavily censored with black pencil that fragments such as ‘In this document, the author discovers what he considers to be ...’ were followed by a full page of blacked-out material.

‘I feel that UFOs do pose a threat to the security of the United States,’ Fawcett said. If military aircraft could duplicate UFOs’ ability to move and change directions at incredibly high speeds, ‘we'd have air superiority over the world. If the Russians could do it, they’d control us.’

‘We have a right to know about UFOs,’ he said, ‘and the government has a duty to tell us.’

Prentice-Hall Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, N.J., will release the book in June.”

My comment: The 1975 northern tier (U.S./Canada) Strategic Air Command (SAC) bases UFO incidents occurred mainly in October and November.
