UFO News Article (Excerpt):
“NORAD: No Saucers Fly in the Sky!”,
18 August 1967 (Chicago Tribune)

The Chicago Tribune reports on an official UFO statement made by NORAD:

The whole excerpt:
“North American air defense command officially said here today that no flying saucers, no extra-terrestrial space ships, and no ‘unfriendly objects’ have ever been identified by air forces over the United States or Canada.”

The NORAD and USNORTHCOM headquarters are located at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

UFO News Article:
“Former Investigator Convinced UFOs Exist”,
11 May 1978
(The Palm Beach Post, West Palm Beach, Florida)

Palm Beach Post reports on the UFO research work of former U.S. Air Force UFO investigator John Wallace Spencer:

Quote from the article:
“ ‘UFOs are real,’ Spencer said. ‘We have pictures of them. We’ve tracked them with fighter aircraft. People, reliable people, have seen them. We know they’re there.’

The Air Force veteran, who spent about four years as a UFO investigator for the armed services, said a national leader cannot recognize the existence of outer-space visitors because any recognition will result in two questions.”

Sightings reports on the 18/19 September 1976 Iranian Air Force fighter jets UFO encounter over Tehran, Iran:

This episode contains interviews with Iranian Air Force officers Abdollah Azarbarzin, Deputy Commander (in 1976) and Amir Kamyabipour, Lieutenant General (in 1976).

A U.S. reconnaissance satellite was monitoring the skies over Tehran on 19 September 1976 and recorded a movement of an unidentified flying object. Sightings presents a U.S. government document that proves this fact.

The two Iranian Air Force fighter pilots who chased the UFO were Captain Mohammad Reza Azizkhani and Lieutenant Parviz Jafari.

I also reported on this UFO case on 30 January 2009 and
19 March 2010:
