The U.S. Air Force RB-47 Stratojet UFO Encounter,
Gulf Coast Area, USA, 17 July 1957, Early Morning

A U.S. Air Force Boeing RB-47 reconnaissance Stratojet, equipped with electronic countermeasures (ECM) instruments and manned by six officers, was followed by an unidentified object for a distance of well over 700 miles and for a time period of more than one hour, as it flew from Mississippi, through Louisiana and Texas and into Oklahoma.

The RB-47 crew was one of the top crews in the Wing, according to Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Bailey, U.S. Air Force (Ret.).
Lt. Col. Bruce Bailey also relates his own UFO encounter that was similar to the RB-47 crew’s encounter.

U.S. Civil Defense Agency Performed Radiation Testing
of UFO Witness, Castle Rock, Colorado, January 1968

MUFON’s journal is an excellent source for those who search for UFO evidence unearthed or recorded by world media and government sources.

Skylook article, April 1968, Page 2:



Howard Ellis, businessman, 42, first saw the bubble hovering about 50 feet above him. It had a dozen lights the color of car headlights that had mud on them shining down on him. The bubble seemed to be transparent and silent.

Others watched the object as it hovered over the Douglas County courthouse and then it shot straight up and disappeared, shooting out a couple balls of flame.

An Air Force and Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said no aircraft were known to be in the area at the time, and Morris Felming, director of the Douglas County Civil Defense Agency, said his agency would test Ellis’ blood to see if any radiation of unknown or foreign matter was in his bloodstream.”

The Douglas County Civil Defense Agency obviously took the UFO report by Howard Ellis seriously. We have also previously seen in numerous instances involving government agencies in the U.S. and other countries, and their response to UFO incidents, that they take the UFO issue seriously.

And, for obvious reasons (or reason), it’s always interesting to note when a businessman reports a UFO sighting.

NASA TV UFOs: Close-up Footage of UFO
Filmed during Space Shuttle Landing

I posted a report regarding this Space Shuttle Discovery (unknown mission) landing on 26 February 2009.

At the International UFO Congress 2009 (Laughlin, Nevada), Mexican UFO researchers Jaime Maussan and Santiago Yturria Garza presented a longer video of this Space Shuttle landing at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This remarkable UFO footage shows that the unknown object descends and moves to the left. In addition, they zoomed in on the UFO.

The UK MoD Explained Away ITV UFO Footage,
October 1971

In late October 1971 an ITV TV crew was recording footage for a farming report, and by chance, they managed to record footage of a UFO:


The daytime UFO film was recorded near Enstone, UK.

I posted a report regarding this ITV UFO footage on 17 August 2008.

When I read through the March 1972 issue of Skylook (MUFON), I found a short report that told us that the UK Ministry of Defence was of the opinion that this footage showed Space debris.

Space debris?!!!

The unknown object hovered for a while, before taking off at an unbelievable speed!

Apparently, it was important to the MoD to convince the UK public that the footage didn't show an unknown object.

The Holland, Michigan UFO Case,
8 March 1994, 9:30 p.m.

The Ottawa County 911 (emergency) operators were inundated with calls from Holland residents, who saw several UFOs in the area during the night of 8 March 1994.

Several Holland police officers also saw the UFOs.

But what is really interesting about this UFO case, is the evidence recorded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). UFO researcher Michael D. Swords, Ph.D. researched the FAA evidence and 911 calls. He commented: “I think this is brilliant evidence.”

Billy Cox (De Void) Inherits NASA Employee’s UFO Files

Sarasota Herald Tribune journalist Billy Cox (De Void) writes that the late John Reiss, a former NASA employee, presented him with his personal UFO files.

Once again, we see that a top U.S. government employee was very interested in the UFO phenomenon.

John Reiss was an electrical engineer who worked on some of NASA's most celebrated planetary probe projects, such as Viking, Voyager, Cassini and Galileo.

9/11 UFOs:
Fast-flying UFO near the WTC Found in Documentary

The History Channel documentary film, “9-11” shows footage of the UFO which seems to have two large, white lights. The UFO doesn't resemble a helicopter or an airplane in any way. This UFO was videotaped by numerous individuals, both TV channel cameramen and private citizens on 9/11-2001:


CNN did also show footage of the UFO, which moved slowly towards the right (on the right side of the screen), after the second airplane had crashed into the World Trade Center. A little while later it flew at high speed in the opposite direction, as seen in the above video. (A link to this video was also posted on 14 December 2008 on this blog):

NASA TV UFOs: The Space Shuttle Discovery Encounters Large UFO, 17 March 2009

NASA Space Shuttle STS-119 (ISS assembly flight 15A) encountered a large UFO on 17 March 2009:


The NASA STS-119 (ISS assembly flight 15A) Space Shuttle Discovery mission:

Launch date: 15 March 2009 –
Landing date: 28 March 2009.

The Frederick Valentich UFO Encounter/
Disappearance Case, 21 October 1978, 7:09 p.m.

On the above date Frederick Valentich was flying from Moorabbin Airport, Melbourne to King Island, Tasmania.

According to the conversation Frederick Valentich had with the Melbourne Flight Service Unit air traffic control centre, he had encountered a very large UFO at 7:09 p.m.

At 7:12 p.m. Valentich told the air traffic controller, Steve Robey, that his Cessna 182L airplane experienced engine trouble and that the UFO was flying right above him. A short time later the Melbourne air traffic controller heard a metallic, scraping sound.

And no one has seen Frederick Valentich or his airplane since the above date.

The Royal Australian Air Force and Navy performed an extensive search in the area where Valentich was suspected to have crashed, but they didn’t find anything.

This case involves people from several Australian Government departments. The Melbourne Flight Service Unit (air traffic control centre), the Department of Transport (DoT), the Police, the Royal Australian Air Force and Navy were involved in this UFO case:

The Frederick Valentich UFO Encounter Case:


Several people on the ground corroborated Valentich’s story. They told Australian investigators that they saw a Cessna airplane, which flew under a large unknown object at the time Valentich was supposed to be in that area.

Harold Brown, U.S. Secretary of Defense
and Dr. J. Allen Hynek Interviewed afterthe 1966 U.S. Public UFO Hearings

This UFO documentary outtake is very interesting. Harold Brown, U.S. Secretary of the Air Force and Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Astronomer) were interviewed after the public UFO Hearings that were held by the U.S. House Armed Services Committee on 5 April 1966(http://www.project1947.com/shg/symposium/shgintro.html).

Both men denied that the U.S. Air Force was hiding UFO secrets from the U.S. public.

First we see how Dr. J. Allen Hynek responded as the U.S. Air Force's scientific adviser on the subject of UFOs, when he was interviewed after the 1966 UFO hearings. Then, in the second Hynek interview (1985), which was conducted many years after Hynek had left his job at the U.S. Air Force, we are told how the inner machinations within the U.S. Air Force worked regarding the UFO phenomenon:

“I know the job they (the U.S. Air Force) had. They were told not to excite the public. Don’t rock the boat. I saw it with my own eyes how whenever a (UFO) case happened that they could explain, they made a point of that and let that out to the media. Cases that were very difficult to explain, they would jump handsprings to keep the media away from (them). They had a job to do, whether rightfully or wrongly, to keep the public from getting excited.”

MUFON UFO Case Report:

UFO Documentary Film Segment:
U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker Airplane 
Encounters Large UFO, Alaska, 30 January 1987

Two and a half months after the JAL Flight 1628’s UFOs encounter (the previous post), a similar incident occurred over Alaska. A U.S. Air Force Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker flew inbound from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska to Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. At 20,000 feet the airplane crew sighted a very large disk shaped UFO that was similar to the one encountered by the JAL Flight 1628. The UFO moved to within 13 metres (40 feet) of the KC-135.

And as can be determined by the U.S. Air Force Pilot’s question 5:29 minutes into the video, it's apparent that he has been briefed about the JAL Flight 1628’s UFO encounter.

The answer by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) official was also very interesting. He said, “It’s very rare seeing the lights (UFOs) up there”. He thereby admitted that UFOs were seen from time to time, albeit rarely!

And the silly notion that the U.S. government (here the FAA) is not investigating UFO sightings or is not interested in UFOs, can once and for all be ruled out by listening to the message the U.S. Air Force Captain received from the FAA (8:17 minutes into the video). The FAA message to the U.S. Air Force Captain said, “Call the local FAA office in Anchorage after you have landed at Eielson Air Force Base”. Then the Captain asked, “That’s concerning the object we were looking at?” “Affirmative”, answered the Eielson Air Force Base official.

So anyone who wants to define the UFO phenomenon as being a myth must first find plausible explanations for several thousand cases that involve UFO sightings, films and photographs made by highly credible, top government officials from around the world. And then you have the UFO radar data.

Less than 24 hours later (31 January 1987), the Alaska Airlines Flight 53 encountered several very large disk shaped UFOs that trailed them. The UFOs eventually flew away from the airplane, moving about a mile a second!

The Japan Airlines (JAL) Cargo Jet UFOs Encounter, North East Alaska, 17 November 1986, 5:11 p.m.

JAL Flight 1628 encountered one very large, disk shaped UFO and two small, rectangular shaped UFOs over Alaska, on this flight from Paris to Tokyo. Captain Kenju (or Kenji) Terauchi described the large UFO as being twice as large as an aircraft carrier.

In this case, we see that a U.S. government official again has brought forth solid, official UFO evidence. The man who must be thanked for that is John Callahan, who was then the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Division Chief of the Office of Accident, Investigation and Prevention.

John Callahan also relates (1:27 minutes into the below interview video) that JAL Captain Kenju Terauchi talked to a U.S. Air Force official on an aircraft that also picked up the UFO on radar during the duration of this JAL UFOs encounter. Later in the same video Callahan tells us that the FAA Administrator Admiral Donald D. Engen had set up a briefing and told Callahan to bring all the evidence he had. There Callahan met with three officials from the CIA, three from the FBI and three from President Ronald Reagan’s Scientific Study Team. And all of them were excited, according to Callahan!

Once again, we see that the U.S. Air Force (Military) and the U.S. Intelligence community are involved in a solid, bona fide UFO case.

The UFO incident occurred on 17 November 1986, at 5:19 p.m. (18 November, at 2:19 UTC), according to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) document (files.afu.se).

The U.S. Book, “The Fire Officer’s Guide to Disaster Control” has UFO Chapter

It’s well known that the U.S. Congress, NASA, United States Armed Forces, CIA, FBI, NSA, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Police Departments (including Sheriff’s Departments) have been involved in the UFO phenomenon in the U.S. throughout the years. But in the 1990s it came as a surprise to most people that the United States Fire Administration (USFA) also takes UFOs seriously.

It was two USFA officials, William M. Kramer and Charles W. Bahme who wrote the guide, which was published in 1992.
