UFO Report:
“The 1995 UFO Chronology”

Released: 15 February 2008
Updated: 16 March 2017
(NICAP.org)

Quote from the UFO report:
“This is currently a 9-page chronology of UFO incidents and events for 1995. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to Richard Hall (the original 1995 chronology from UFOE II), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online NICAP DBase [NSID]. You will note the many foreign reports that we are now being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us. As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to 1969) involved the expertise of two other team members; Rebecca Wise (Project Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns). Bob Gribble’s entries are those filed with the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington, now operated by Peter Davenport. Trace cases are now being entered with the help of Ted Phillips, Center for Physical Trace Research and retrofitted into previous chronologies as time permits. Since I was Indiana State Director (MUFON) at that time, some of our Indiana cases are listed here.

Several VERY good UFO reports (May 25, Bovina, TX has audio transmissions) in this group, and the GAO (General Accounting Office) report on the Air Force Roswell investigation was released in July.

UFO News Article:
“UFO sighted”

1 September 1995
(The Times, Victor Harbor, Australia)

Source: NewspaperArchive.com

The whole article:
“The Times has received two separate reports of a UFO over South Coast skies on Tuesday night [29 August 1995].

Ms Karen Lee of Port Elliot says her 10-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter had called her from the kitchen about 7.10pm because they were frightened by an object in the sky.

Her son Paul said the UFO was ‘big, round and red’ and after hovering close to their house for a short time, Ms Lee said it ‘shot off towards the sea’.

Ms Lee said an elderly neighbour had also seen the UFO which had set his dog barking wildly.

Ferry driver Ross Tuckwell said he was in his yard about 7.30pm ‘having a smoke’ when he saw what looked like a huge floodlight in the sky over the hills near his Sorrento Parade, Victor Harbor home.”

My comment:
This UFO case, as seen in the 4 February 1968 Redlands, California, case – also involve both a UFO which manoeuvred close to a house and animal reaction (dog).

I also reported about this article on 2 March 2016.

UFO Case Directory (RADCAT):
“America West Airlines Flight 564 /
NORAD / F-111 Incident
May 25, 1995
Nr. Bovina, TX”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
“Richard Hall:
Time: 10:30 p.m. Witnesses: Capt. Gene Tollefson, First Officer John J. Waller, America West Airlines Flight 564.

Features:
Large silhouetted cigar-shaped object, pulsating lights along body. An America West B-757 airliner was cruising at 39,000 feet near Bovina, Texas, en route from Tampa, Florida, to Las Vegas, Nevada. To their right and somewhat below their altitude, the crew saw a row of bright white lights which sequenced on and off from left to right. The co-pilot contacted the Albuquerque FAA Air Route Traffic Control Center while the sighting was in progress and checks were made with military installations in the area, but no explanation could be found. As the airliner proceeded westerly and the object began dropping behind, the crew observed it against a background of thunderclouds. When the background clouds pulsed with lightning, they could see the silhouette of a dark, wingless, elongated cigar-like object around the strobing lights. Though they did not know the object’s exact distance, the pilot and co-pilot estimated it to be 300-400 feet long. The object was not visible on Albuquerque FAA radar. One of the air traffic controllers contacted the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD), which monitors North American air space by radar, and said that NORAD had confirmed an unidentified radar track in the vicinity. This later proved to be a small aircraft whose transponder was not initially operative. Source: (W. Webb, 1996)”

“ ‘Object’ Circles Over Camp Drum”

27 September 1952
(The Ithaca Journal, New York)

Source: Newspapers.com

The whole article:
“The Air Force has no comment on an unidentified flying object that reportedly paid a half-hour visit to this Northern New York camp.

Military authorities said Friday that the object hovered over the base last Monday night [22 September 1952]. The information at first had been classified as confidential.

Eight soldiers said the object was about 20 feet across and trailed red-orange sparks. It circled rapidly and sometimes hovered, they reported.

Officers from Griffis [Griffiss] Air Force Base at Rome questioned the men on Tuesday. The officers declined comment.”

Wikipedia article: “Fort Drum”:

Quote from the above Wikipedia article:
“Fort Drum [located near Watertown, New York] is a U.S. Army military reservation and a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, on the northern border of New York, United States. The population of the CDP portion of the base was 12,955 at the 2010 census.[2] It is home to the 10th Mountain Division.

Fort Drum consists of 107,265 acres (434.09 km2). In this region, winter temperatures can reach as low as −30 °F (−34 °C).[3] Its mission includes command of active component units assigned to the installation, providing administrative and logistical support to tenant units, support to active and reserve units from all services in training at Fort Drum, and planning and support for the mobilization and training of almost 80,000 troops annually.

History

This section of the article incorporates text taken from a public-domain document prepared by the United States military.[4]

A portion of the present Fort Drum was first used as a military training site in 1908 when it was named Pine Camp; the following year land was purchased to develop the camp as an installation. The army had an earlier presence in the North Country from the early 19th century, prior to the War of 1812.

World War II expansion

With the outbreak of World War II in Europe, Pine Camp was selected by the Army for a major expansion. An additional 75,000 acres (30,000 ha) of land was purchased, displacing 525 local families. Five entire villages were eliminated, while others were reduced from one-third to one-half their size. Three thousand buildings, including 24 schools, six churches and a post office, were abandoned.

By Labor Day 1941, 100 tracts of land were taken over. Contractors went to work, and in a period of 10 months at a cost of $20 million, an entire city was built to house the divisions scheduled to train at Pine Camp.

Eight hundred buildings were constructed, including 240 barracks, 84 mess halls, 86 storehouses, 58 warehouses, 27 officers' quarters, 22 headquarters buildings, and 99 recreational buildings, as well as guardhouses and a hospital. Construction workers suffered during this period, as the winter of 1941-42 was one of the coldest in North Country history.

The three divisions to train at Pine Camp included the 4th Armored Division (Gen. Creighton Abrams was a battalion commander there at the time), the 45th Infantry Division (United States), and the 5th Armored Division.

Pine Camp was renamed as Camp Drum in 1951, named after Lieutenant General Hugh A. Drum, who was chief of staff of the First United States Army during World War I and First Army commander at the start of World War II. During and after the Korean War, a number of units were stationed and trained here to take advantage of the terrain and climate.”

Wikipedia article: “Griffiss Air Force Base”:

Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“Griffiss Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force installation in the northeastern United States, located in central New York state at Rome, about fifteen miles (25 km) northwest of Utica.

Missions included fighter interceptors, electronic research, installation, and support activities, aerial refueling, and bombers. Opened in 1942, the base closed pursuant to BRAC action in 1995 and its airfield is now Griffiss International Airport, owned by Oneida County. In November 1984 the site was added to the National Priorities List because hazardous chemicals were found in soil and ground water. Solvents, lead and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) had been disposed in landfills and dry wells

Closed 24 years ago in September 1995 by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission decision, it was realigned for civilian and non-combat purposes in 1995, and is now home to the Griffiss Business and Technology Park. Post-closure, two USAF activities remained: the Rome Research Site of the Air Force Research Laboratory, and the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) as operated by the New York Air National Guard from a small complex of buildings in the Technology Park.”

UFO Article:
“UFO in the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 1995”

By Jonathan Beaston, U.S. Navy, Retired

Source: Geohanover.com

This is a possible USO incident that occurred 250 to 300 miles north west of Puerto Rico:

The whole article:
“I just want to give my two cents about what I know about UFO’s.

I am a retired Machinist Repairman First Class U.S. Navy. I never really believed in UFO’s to much until December 1995 when I saw one from the ship I was on, the USS Comte De Grasse DD-974, in route to Norfolk, Virginia from Puerto Rico. The sighting occurred about 250 to 300 miles Northwest of Puerto Rico in the Atlantic Ocean.

I was standing the mid watch sounding security watch and always went to the fantail on my rounds to talk to the seaman who stood watch there. It was around midnight and we were just talking, looking up at the stars when this UFO just lite up in the sky about 1000 feet high and a quarter a mile away aft of the ship so the bridge could not see it. It did not come from anywhere that we could see.

We don’t know if it came out of the ocean or what but all we saw was it just turned on it lights and was just sitting there. It did not make one sound and it had a few different color lights on it, red, blue and white I believe. I said to the seaman on watch, ‘do you see what I see’ and he said yes so I told him to call up to the bridge and see if they can see anything on their radar.

They replied that nothing was showing up on the screen and as soon as they told us that, this UFO took off like nothing I have ever seen. It looked like it traveled a 1000 miles in just a split second in a zig zag motion not making any noise or even a sight of smoke. We looked at each other and said ‘I didn’t see anything if you didn’t.’ There was only two of us that saw it because it didn’t lite up until our ship was forward of them.

I think the USA and other countries are wasting their time trying to use radar to find them because from my experience the UFO’s are made of material that doesn’t show up on our radar. No wonder they can’t locate them. I am sure someone has figured that out by now. Just wanted to share my story.”
