UFO Article:
“The Cosford Incident”

By Nick Pope
(TheRendleshamForestIncident.com)

Quote from the article:
“On 30 and 31 March 1993 there was a series of UFO sightings in the UK involving over a hundred witnesses. Many of these were police officers and military personnel. The UFO also flew directly over two RAF bases [RAF Cosford and RAF Shawbury]. What follows is the extraordinary story of what has been dubbed The British UFO Mystery.

Conclusion

Given the MOD’s ‘no defence significance’ conclusion on UFOs, it seems fitting to conclude with quotes from MOD documents which contradict the usual stance. In a briefing that I prepared for my Head of Division on 16 April 1993 I wrote:

‘It seems that an unidentified object of unknown origin was operating in the UK Air Defence Region without being detected on radar; this would appear to be of considerable defence significance, and I recommend that we investigate further, within MOD or with the US authorities.’

My Head of Division was normally sceptical about the UFO phenomenon, but on this occasion he agreed with my conclusion. His 22 April 1993 brief to the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (one of the UK’s most senior RAF officers) stated:

‘In summary, there would seem to be some evidence on this occasion that an unidentified object (or objects) of unknown origin was operating over the UK.’

This is about as close the MOD will ever get to saying that there’s more to UFOs than misidentifications or hoaxes.”

I first reported about this article on 25 June 2010.

UFO News Article:
“Others describe strange, silent object in the sky”

21 April 1993
(St. Petersburg Times, Florida)

Sources: U.F.O. Newsclipping Service, Plumerville, Arkansas and AFU.se

The whole article (Page 6):
“More sightings come to light of something big and boomerang-shaped moving above the Suncoast. Some say it hovered. Others say it vanished in a twinkling. No one claims to know what it was.

Ron Chancey, a Hernando County sheriff’s deputy, may not know exactly what he saw on patrol Friday night (16 April 1993), but he insists he saw something.

A boomerang-shaped something with a wingspan of at least 200 feet.

Something that hovered in the starry sky along Hernando’s coast. That could go from still to warp whatever in the time it takes to snap your fingers.

Chancey found six Hernando residents who said they saw the same thing over the coastal communities of Pine Island and Bayport. And on Tuesday, three more sightings of the mysterious thing were reported to the Times.

Chancey, assigned to patrol Pine !stand after last month’s devastating storm, said it was about 9:20 p.m. as he cruised slowly along Pine Island Drive with his window down and left arm on the door.

Through trees to the north, he first noticed blue lights that seemed to follow him. He drove southeast toward Bayport. Then he saw it over the marsh.

‘It was like a huge something or other,’ Chancey said. ‘The first thing I thought of was the Crystal River nuclear plant. I don’t know why, really. And then I thought of that movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, with that big whatever-it-was that played the music. But this thing was real quiet. I would guess it was 200 or 300 feet long.’

Chancey said he stopped his cruiser and shined a spotlight at the thing. He saw no markings or numbers. No cockpit. He made out a vague, dark outline that appeared to be shaped like a boomerang.

After watching for a couple of minutes, Chancey drove on toward the park in Bayport. As he accelerated, he said, the object accelerated. The deputy shined the light at it again and it cut west toward the Gulf of Mexico.

He met with six people at the park in Bayport who told him they had also seen the object.

Baffled, he said he could only come to one conclusion.

‘Based on what I know now, no, I don’t think it’s from this planet,’ Chancey said. ‘Nothing on Earth could hover and haul ass like that.’

Garth and Sandra Curtis of Brooksville were in Tarpon Springs at 9:30 p.m. Friday when, they said, they saw the unidentified flying object.

‘We sat and watched it a good five minutes,’ Garth Curtis said. ‘It was moving slowly to the west. I don’t know what to believe. I've never seen anything like it.’

Mary McCracken of New Port Richey said she saw the same object the night before the Bayport sighting. It was Thursday night. L.A. Law was on. The latest storm front was drenching Pasco County.

‘Through my bedroom window, over in the southeast, I saw a bunch of real bright lights not too far over the treetops, moving real slow,’ she said. ‘I kept watching it. It was really big. I opened the window all the way, even with the rain, and listened. It didn’t make a sound.’

McCracken said as the object passed near her house a street light winked off. When it was gone, the light glowed again.

‘I couldn’t believe it not making a sound and going so slow like that,’ she said. ‘It makes me feel better that somebody else saw it and it was somebody credible like a deputy.’

Does she believe in extraterrestrials?

‘I think that it would be ignorant of me not to think there is something out there in this whole universe that has evolved. There has to be somebody out there.’

Lisa Curran, 28, also of New Port Richey, said she and her parents saw the unusual object in broad daylight Sunday afternoon. It hovered high above them, rising until it vanished, she said.

Her husband, Tom, who was not with her when she said she saw the object, disagrees. He said he believes it was a military airplane, possibly a Stealth bomber that can avoid radar detection.

‘I find it hard to believe it was from outer space,’ Tom Curran said.

Said Lisa: ‘If he saw it and I didn’t, I’d probably make fun of him, too.’ ”

NASA TV UFOs: NASA UFOs fly-by Hubble Telescope, Early December 1993

Martyn Stubbs (secretnasaman):
“A sequence from NASA mission STS-61, showing UFOs zooming by Hubble spacewalkers on the left and right side of the picture.”

In this video one can see several unknown objects which fly very close to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).

What’s remarkable is that the NASA officials apparently aren’t concerned about the objects at all. One would expect that if these objects were dangerous pieces of Space debris that they then at least would mention the objects.

Just check what Hubble cost the U.S. taxpayers!!

The most interesting unknown object is seen at 2:23 minutes into the video. An object suddenly appears near the astronaut and flies to the left before it accelerates away:

UK Government UFO Document:
“POSSIBLE UFO SIGHTINGS”

March 1993
(Royal Air Force, Ministry of Defence, London, UK)

The whole document (not written in UK Ministry of Defence document format):
“1. I have to report that at RAF Cosford on 31 Mar 93 at 0115 hours in company with Cpl [blacked out text] RAF Police, I was on mobile patrol of Leeming Road, adjacent to the Gravel Car Park when I saw two bright lights in the sky above the Airfield. The lights appeared to be flying at great velocity in a South Easterly direction at an altitude of approximately 1000 feet. The lights were circular in shape and gave off no beam. They were creamy white in colour and constant in size and in relation to each other.

2. I brought the vehicle to a standstill and pointed out the lights to Cpl [blacked out text]. I switched off the vehicle engine and we both got out of the car and observed the lights. There was no sound of any engine noise despite there being no wind and the sky being free from cloud. The lights were observed over-flying the Unit and away towards the Wolverhampton area. A slight red glow could be seen from the rear of the lights as they disappeared from view over the horizon. The lights were visible for approximately one minute.

3. Myself and Cpl [blacked out text] then returned to the COC and I contacted RAF Shawbury. I was informed that there were no aircraft flying from there.

4. At 0125 hours, I contacted ATC at RAF Lyneham and was informed that there were no known aircraft in the area of Cosford.

5. At 0127 hours, I contacted RAF Brize Norton and was informed the same.

6. At 0128 hours, I was informed by the Ord Cpl, Cpl [blacked out text] that a Mr [blacked out text] Brereton, Rugeley, Staffordshire had reported seeing the same lights over Rugeley. Four members of Mr [blacked out text] party had also witnessed the lights. Mr [blacked out text] had followed the lights which he described as being cream in colour at an altitude of 900-1000 feet and at an estimated size of 200 metres. He could hear a humming noise as the object flew directly above him. Mr [blacked out text] stated that he believed that the object landed in an area known as Hazelslade but when he approached he could not find and signs of the landing. Mr [blacked out text] was instructed to inform his local Civil Police Force, which he did, and during a subsequent conversation, it was established that a Constable from Staffordshire Police had visited Mr [blacked out text].

7. At 0130 hours, I informed West Mercia Police, WPC [blacked out text] of the sightings.

8. At 0140 hours, I informed HQ P&SS (UK), Cpl [blacked out text] of the incident.

9. At 0142 hours, I informed RAF West Drayton, Lt Cdr [blacked out text] of the incident, and he confirmed that there was no military aircraft of any kind in UK airspace and there had not been since 0001 hours.

10. At 0143 hours, the Senior Air Traffic Controller at Birmingham International Airport was contacted, and he confirmed that there were no civilian aircraft in Cosford Airspace and had not been for some hours.

11. At 0215 hours, OC RAF Police Flt and the Ord Off, Flt Lt [blacked out text] were informed of the incident.

12. At 0250 hours, Mr [blacked out text] RAF Shawbury Met Office, contacted Cpl [blacked out text] and stated that he had seen two lights in the sky at RAF Shawbury. The lights were first sighted approximately 15-20 kms away and Mr [blacked out text] observed them travel towards him over the Airfield moving erratically at hundreds of miles per hour unlike any aircraft. He described the lights as appearing to be searching for something. He heard a low humming noise and watched the object for 5 minutes until it disappeared from sight in a southerly direction. Mr [blacked out text] stated that he had been a Met Officer for 8 years and had never seen anything like it before.

13. At 0300 hours, Cpl [blacked out text] contacted a Mr [blacked out text], the Met Officer at Bristol Airport, who stated that similar lights had been seen there at 0055 hours. He had initially put the lights down to adverse meteor activity but in the light of the subsequent reports recorded it as unidentified.

14. At 0310 hours, West Marcia Police were made aware of the further reports and would contact Staffordshire and Avon & Somerset Forces to correlate the reports.

15. At 0330 hours I resumed normal duties.

UFO Article (Blog):
“Significant Release Of Never-Before-Seen
Australian UFO Policy.... And Get Excited....
Because Some Of It Is Still Classified – Part 3”

By Paul Dean, 7 February 2016
(UFOs – Documenting The Evidence, Melbourne, Australia)

Quote from the article:
“Some of you will be aware that in 1994 the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) official policy of accepting and investigating UFO sightings, or ‘Unusual Aerial Sightings’ (UAS) as they called them, was massively downgraded to almost nothing at all. I knew there would be a paper trail (beyond what was already released years ago) which hadn’t been appraised before. In September, 2015, using the powerful Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, I submitted a detailed request to the Department of Defence (DoD) for any material that “went into” this policy downgrade. They issued me, at some cost, 42 pages of never-before-seen administrative records from that era. This is the third and final Part of this series. For those who wish to start from the beginning, have a look at Part 1 and Part 2.

Beyond what I have highlighted previously, there are some more records that are of some interest. A 3 page ‘Message Form’ dated 24th December, 1993 was sent to six ‘Air Indicator Groups’ (AIG). An AIG is a list of preset destinations for internal message routing. This particular message was titled ‘Unusual Aerial Sightings: Revised Policy’ and had a file reference 138/93/DGPP. DGPP stands for Director General of Plans and Policy. The author was Air Commodore S. T. James who was DGPP for the RAAF in 1993 and 1994.”

the Milwaukee Sentinel informs:

http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=A2sWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=2RIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6717,293753

It was a farmer near Hustisford who first reported the UFO sighting.

Quote from the article:
“The farmer told deputies the light was connected to a large, flat object that was domed at the center. The bright light was shining from the domed section, and a dimmer yellowish light came from the ends, Fitzgerald (Sheriff Stephen G. Fitzgerald) said.

Ray Stubinski, a town of Oconomowoc farmer who lives less than a mile south of Dodge County, reported another UFO to town officials last Tuesday.”
