UFO DNA UFO case report:
“23 October 1980 20:55
Morenci, Arizona , USA
High School Band incident.”

Quote from the UFO case report:
“A high school band was holding practice in the evening at a playing field between Clifton and Morenci, Arizona. They sighted a string of lights shaped in a triangular pattern hovering above them. It would move and stop, then move and stop again. At 8:55 p.m. in Morenci, Arizona a crew of maintenance workers at a copper smelting plant saw a UFO with 12 red lights and a big searchlight on the front.

…, boomerang-shaped UFO descended to 700 feet altitude, beam of light emitted shown directly on interior of smoke stack. Abrupt maneuvers, white tubes connect 8 red lights.

A V-shaped object was observed.

One black V-shaped object, about 300 feet across, was observed by five witnesses at a smelter for several hours (Nevarez; Rogers). No sound was heard.”

This is a solid UFO case – reported on by Richard F. Haines, Richard H. Hall, Larry Hatch and Willy Smith, among others.

“NEWS OF SCANDINAVIA. NORWAY.”

10 June 1909
(Warren Sheaf, Minnesota)

Source: Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.

Quote from the article:
“Capt. Egenas (Egenæs?), comamnding [sic] the St. Olaf, reports that he was surprised by an airship in the middle of the night, on the North sea. The airship passed right over his steamer, and at the most opportune moment the deck was strongly illuminated by a searchlight. The airship left in a southerly direction. Capt. Egenas could see that the airship threw a searchlight on the deck of another steamer, too.”

UFO News Article:
“Mysterious Airship.
EAST ANGLIAN EXCITEMENT.”

15 May 1909
(Cardiff Times and South Wales Weekly News, UK)

Source: newspapers.library.wales

The whole article:
“Residents of some parts of East Anglia are keenly excited just now about a mysterious airship which has been seen hovering over the district in the early hours of the morning, with a searchlight. Nobody appears to be able to throw any light on the ownership of the vessel, or the purpose of these after-midnight ascents, and, of course—in the absence of definite information—people are saying it must be a party of Germans spying out the land.

The object was first seen a few weeks ago by a Peterborough policeman on duty late at night, and also by several railwaymen who were on night duty at March. A few days later it was seen at Ely.

All are agreed that the object is oblong in shape, and it is alleged to carry a searchlight. Several of those who saw it declare that it made a noise like a motor-car, and travelled at a great pace.

During the movement of troops in Gyppeswyk (Gippeswyk) Park, Ipswich, the other night, it was seen frequently. Only one person, a farmer, has seen this mysterious object in the sky during the daytime. The first reports were received with incredulity, but the fact that the object has been seen in several parts of North Cambs and the surrounding district at different times has encouraged the belief that some mysterious airship is patrolling East Anglia during the hours between sunset and sunrise. Considerable excitement prevails, and a keen watch is being kept.”

UFO News Article:
“3 Prairie Girls Report UFO Landing”,

5 October 1967
(The Telegraph-Herald, Dubuque, Iowa and
East Dubuque, Illinois)

The UFO sighting occurred about 3 miles north of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin on 30 September 1967, at around 7:30 p.m., according to the article:

http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=dgdRAAAAIBAJ&sjid=xsAMAAAAIBAJ&pg=1296,715030

Quote from the article:
“An oval-shaped object suddenly appeared and settled just above the surface of the field. There it hovered.

It measured about 12 by 15 feet and rhythmically changed in color from orange to yellow.

A large searchlight appeared to be mounted on the object, which yielded a loud buzzing sound, similar to bees.

As it hovered motionless above the field, an object dropped from the bottom and spun around.

Knickerbocker said Louie Mattie, who operates the Lakeview Resort, reported he was watching television at the time.

Mattie said the screen suddenly blacked out, but no other lights were affected. The screen’s light returned after about 1½ minutes, Mattie told Knickerbocker.”

UFO Journal Article:
“UFO OVER COPPER SMELTER”

Vol. 29, No. 7
Published: August 1981
(The A.P.R.O. Bulletin, Tucson, Arizona)

Source: AFU.se

Quote from the article (Page 1):
“On the evening of October 23rd, 1980, one of the most well-witnessed UFO sightings in history took place in the little mining town of Morenci, Arizona. Located on US 666, it is about 20 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona, which is on Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona. Morenci is a typical Arizona copper mining town and the site of two huge copper smelters which are owned and operated by Phelps-Dodge Corporation.

APRO’s investigator on this case was Jim McCoy who did in-depth interviews with five of the witnesses. There were a host of other witnesses and hopefully they can be interviewed at a later date. However, inasmuch as the five men observed the object at relatively close range, their testimony is central to the facts in the case.

When the vehicle was brought to a stop and the men looked up, they were amazed to see a boomerang-shaped object approaching the north smoke stack of the smelter area at a very low speed which they later told Mr. McCoy that they estimated to be about five miles per hour. When it arrived at a position directly over the north stack, it stopped and hovered for a minute or so, then came straight down vertically to an estimated altitude of about 700 to 1,000 feet, not far above the stack. After a brief period of time a brillant light erupted from the forward apex of the boomerang configuration and shone directly down into the interior of the north smelter stack. The witnesses described this light as brighter than a search light or that of an arc welder.

APRO was alerted concerning the Morenci sighting on January 10 by Mr. Samuel Player, the editor of the Eastern Arizona Courier of Safford, Arizona, and some of the above information was carried in the press. In addition to the five smelter workers, who were ‘almost’ under the object, Greenlee County Sheriff Ralph Gomez, several Morenci businessmen among others, witnessed the passage of the huge object. One hundred (100) members of the Morenci High School band and the director were among the host of individuals who watched.

There are indications that this object was witnessed on at least one and possibly more occasions and the Bulletin will follow up on this case if further details come to hand.”

U.S. Government Journal UFO Article:
“REPORTING UNIDENTIFIED
FLYING OBJECTS”

The Inspector General (TIG) Brief, Number 11, Volume XVI,
13 April 1962
(U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.)

Source: CUFON.org

The whole article:
“Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are defined in AFR 200-2 as any aerial phenomena, airborne objects which are unknown or appear out of the ordinary to the observer because of performance, aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features. Activities initially receiving reports of aerial objects and phenomena must screen the information to determine whether a valid UFO is involved. If determined that it is an object such as a balloon, searchlight, astronomical body, missile, satellite in orbit, or aircraft - even though the type, purpose, origin and destination is unknown - it should not be reported as a UFO.

Flying objects reported in the past have posed no threat to the security of the U.S. However, observations aid AF readiness - and since the possibility exists that a UFO reported may be hostile, or a new foreign air vehicle of unconventional design, it is imperative to report sightings rapidly, factually, and as completely as possible.

The AF continues to analyze all reports of UFOs until they are scientifically or technically explained - however, some remain unidentified because report of sightings was not immediate, detailed, or objective. Because of the human factors involved, such as personal impressions and interpretations, a careful study must be made of the logic, consistency, and coherence of the observer's report. Particular attention should be given to the observer’s age, occupation, education, and whether his vocation involves observation reporting or technical knowledge. Every effort should be made to resolve the sighting immediately, since the officer who receives the report initially is in a much better position to conduct an ‘on-the-spot’ survey or follow-up than subsequent investigative personnel.

A recent change to AFR 200-2 eliminates the use of AF Form 112, ‘Intelligence Report,’ when submitting written reports of sightings over 3 days old. Such reports will now be sent by letter direct to AFSC, Foreign Technology Division (FTD), Wright-Patterson AFB, where a final report will be prepared on each sighting after collection and analysis of data. There is no change in the requirement that reports under 3 days from date of sighting be reported by electrical transmission.

Commanders should insure that their training programs for crew members, pilots and other personnel include current information on the UFO Program in addition to the requirements of AFR 55-88 for timely and accurate CIRVIS reporting. Queries from the public or private organizations on the UFO program should be referred to the Office of Information, OSAF, Washington, D. C.”

The 1976 book (published by T.H.A.R. Institute, Raynesford, Montana) by the authors Roberta Donovan and Keith Wolverton explores the animal mutilation phenomenon.

In this post, I focus on the animal mutilation-UFO connection evidence that is reported on in the book.

Unmarked helicopters are sometimes also reported to be flying over or near (or even landing) where an animal mutilation incident has taken place, according to experienced animal mutilation researchers.

UFO Case Directory (RADCAT):
“Radar Lock Broken By UO
March 9, 1958
Panama Canal Zone”

(NICAP.org)

NICAP.org presents U.S. government UFO documents that pertain to the 9-10 March 1958 Panama Canal Zone UFO case.

The whole UFO case report:
Fran Ridge:
This is an interesting uncorrelated target incident, supported by 17 Blue Book documents.

Dan Wilson:
March 9-10, 1958; Panama Canal Zone
At around  2000 hours an unidentified object was picked up on search radar approaching the Pacific side of the Isthmus of Panama. At 2045 hours two additional blips were observed. These returns were transferred to track radar. During the period of observation the radar lock was broken, the equipment immediately picked up the target and locked on again. A second radar tracking station also locked onto the return. The manner of flight of the objects was steady, slightly circular path over the vicinity of Fort Kobbe, Canal Zone. There was such rapid movement of the object that it broke the lock of the track radar. It was assumed that these were solid objects as track radar can only be locked on a solid object. At 2400 hours, radar advised that as soon as a searchlight was employed the object became evasive. (Dan Wilson)”

If you compare the “AIR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT” (“SUBJECT: Unidentified Flying Object Report”) (U.S. Air Force) document (580309panamacanalzone_docs.pdf) (Pages 4-10) with the Project Blue Book (U.S. Air Force) document (580309panamacanalzone_docs.pdf) (Pages 1-3) – you clearly see that PBB tries to explain away this UFO case.

Quote from the “AIR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT” (“SUBJECT: Unidentified Flying Object Report”/“DATE OF REPORT: 18 March 1958”) document:
“10 March

11:20          AF 5289 (T-33) airborne to check UFO. UFO was observed to avoid jet. As soon as jet got close, UFO appeared to move away for several miles, then stop.

12:00          Jet returned to Howard. Pilot called and advised nothing was seen. Also advised Weather Build-up. Radar advised they could distinguish UFO from clouds and build-ups.”

UFO News Article (Excerpt):
Article About Airship Sighting
In San Francisco, California

24 November 1896
(San Francisco Chronicle, California)

Source: Newspapers.com

Quote from the article:
“… Sutro by his employes at the Cliff House, the airship was seen in that vicinity about two weeks ago. Speaking about the matter yesterday, the Mayor said: ‘It was about dark one evening, about two weeks ago [on around 10 November 1896], when I reached the Cliff House, and, as I alighted from the car, a number of my employes rushed up to me and began telling me about having seen a strange object hovering over the Seal rocks. According to their story, the object came in from the sea and passed directly over the Cliff House, stopping its rapid speed only for a second while over the Seal rocks. It seemed to be about 500 feet above the earth, and it was too dark to get a view sufficient to describe it. The bright light that seemed to be attached to the rear end of the object, apparently a searchlight, was visible to all, and as it passed rapidly out of sight, going in the direction of the city, it left my men full of wonderment as to what it could be.’ ”

My comment: This is one of the 1896-1897 airship reports which clearly describes a highly advanced aircraft. It is not possible to misunderstand the following sentence: “ ‘According to their story, the object came in from the sea and passed directly over the Cliff House, stopping its rapid speed only for a second while over the Seal rocks.’ ”
