UFO News Article:
“Top officer backs UFO ‘plot’ claim”

4 September 1995
(The Press and Journal, Aberdeen, UK)

Source: BritishNewspaperArchive.co.uk

The whole article:
“ONE of Britain’s highest-ranking military officers is backing a claim that the Government is concealing evidence of an unidentified flying object.

In a book A Deadly Concealment, to be published next year, author Derek Sheffield tells how on March 30, 1990, four [NATO] air defence radar stations, three in Belgium and one in Germany, tracked a fast-moving triangular craft across Western Europe.

At one stage, it came within six minutes of entering UK airspace, he claims.

Two F-16 fighters from the Belgian Air Force were scrambled to intercept the target but could not keep up with it.

Mr Sheffield says the Ministry of Defence denies any knowledge of the incident despite his claims that British-based tracking stations would automatically have been alerted.

That view is shared by Admiral of the Fleet Lord Hill-Norton, who between 1974 and 1977 was the chairman of [NATO’s] military Committee.

Lord Hill-Norton said: ‘The fact is that, if these European tracking stations detected a UFO, two fighters were sent up to intercept it and it came to be six minutes from British airspace, there is no doubt in my mind that the UK air defence organisation would automatically know about it.’ ”

Wikipedia article: “NATO”:

Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO, /ˈneɪtoʊ/; French: Organisation du traité de l’Atlantique nord, OTAN), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 30 North American and European countries. The organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.[3][4] NATO constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its independent member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party. NATO’s Headquarters are located in Evere, Brussels, Belgium, while the headquarters of Allied Command Operations is near Mons, Belgium.”

UFO News Article:
“– Norsk og britisk marine hadde

UFO-kontakt under vinterøvelse”
(“– Norwegian and British navy had

UFO contact during winter exercise”),
3 March 2011 (TV 2, Bergen, Norway)

TV 2 reports on the UFO incident that occurred during a NATO naval exercise off the coast of Northern Norway between either
26 October to 6 November 1998 or 8 February to 3 March 1999:

http://www.tv2nyhetene.no/utenriks/-norsk-og-britisk-marine-hadde-ufokontakt-under-vinteroevelse-3432532.html

The UFO was tracked on radar by a Royal Norwegian Navy ship, whose sailors were discussing it on their communications network.

Sailors on board HMS Manchester and other Royal Navy ships also sighted the UFO.

The late Lord Hill-Norton (Admiral of the Fleet and former Chief of the Defence Staff) investigated this UFO incident.

His investigations found that the ship’s log from 1 February 1999 to 13 February 1999 was missing.

“An unusually heavy wind had blown the log overboard while the ship was in port in Bodø,” William Bach, the then UK Minister of State for Defence Procurement, wrote in a letter to Lord Hill-Norton!

UFO Mailing List Post:
“RAF Feltwell – UFO Trackers?”

By Gerry Lovell, 13 September 1998
(UFO UpDates, Toronto, Canada)

Source: The People, London, UK
Date: 13 September 1998

Quote from the post:
“This is the top secret airforce base which a former defence
chief believes is used to spy on alien activity above Britain
[photo shows two radomes positioned close to perimeter fence at
RAF Feltwell -- G=AC ].

Lord Hill-Norton, chief of the defence staff in the Seventies,
is convinced that a United States Air Force squadron in Suffolk
[on the Norfolk/Suffolk County border and 70 crow miles NNE of
London -- G=AC ] is tracking UFOs which may threaten Earth.

‘There's something fishy at the base and I am puzzled,’ he told
me. ‘I have asked a number of questions about the base and never
get a satisfactory answer.’

The Ministry of Defence did admit that RAF Feltwell has a
special US unit ‘tracking man-made objects in deep space.’ ”
