UFO Report:
“The 1998 UFO Chronology”
Released: 15 May 2009
Updated: 10 December 2016
(NICAP.org)
Quote from the UFO report:
“Our thanks for these chronologies must go
to the A-Team, in [particular],
Richard Hall, Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online
NICAP DBase [NSID]. You will note the many foreign reports that we are now
being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us.
As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to
1969) involved the expertise of two other team members; Rebecca Wise (Project
Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns).
Other entries are those filed with Peter Davenport of the National UFO
Reporting Center
in Seattle and researcher Michael Swords.

UFOs sighted at sub base and nuclear storage facility.
Sept. 20, 1998: Henfield , Sussex , England
2:15 AM Two uniformed police officers, one male and one female were on
patrol in the Henfield area on the main A281 Brighton Road when they saw several
unusual lights in the sky. Each light was the size of a Jumbo jet aircraft. For
scale a large aircraft flew near to the lights. Each light was circular and not
connected to the others. They stopped their vehicle to get a better look. As
they watched they suddenly saw a beam of light being shone down to the ground
approximately 200-300
metres away. It was a rural location with no housing
nearby. They drove toward the beam but it suddenly went out. Both the officers
were shook up by the incident that lasted in the region of 35-45 minutes. The
sighting was officially reported to the MoD. (Source: The 5TH ANNUAL PRUFOS

Night. Two constables see 5 lights in sky while driving patrol. They get
out to watch. Lights are apparently large [one size of jumbo jet]. They contort
together in motion like a snake. Moved very fast. Then a bright beam appeared
on road ahead. Beam did not seem diminished by misty conditions. Very piercing.
Constables shown headlights on it and it disappeared. Inspecting the area they
found nothing. UFO investigator Larry Dean quoted. (Lead from Mike Swords,

[no day stated] 5:00 AM. A deputy sheriff was driving to work when he
noticed a glowing, pulsing light to his right. He could also see beams, like
lasers, shot upwards. A news program on his radio was asking if anyone near
Benbrook could confirm lights reported in to them. He called them [all his
calls were difficult to get through] and said he was in the vicinity. He
mentioned that he'd also seen a small plane apparently flying towards the area
and the radio man said that this was their spotter plane. Then the entire
electrical system of his car cut out, and he rolled to a stop. [engine out too,
obviously]. Even his cell-phone would not work, even though it was only on
battery power having nothing to do with the car. He himself felt as though an ‘energy’
had hit him on the top of his head and run right down his body. ‘It felt like
someone had poured warm oil over my head’. The feeling left in three minutes.
The car was immediately restartable. His radio had lost all its programming.
His cell-phone came back on and worked once he unlocked the code. He thought
about telling his officer colleagues but decided against it. (Lead from Mike

Chinese Air Force Jet Fighter Pilot Chased UFO in 1998,
25 October 2010 (SOHU.com News, Beijing, China)
A Chinese Air Force J-6 jet fighter pilot chased a UFO near Cangzhou Air Force Base on 19 October 1998, at 11:30 p.m., SOHU.com News reports:

This case is notable, since the UFO incident report was officially disclosed by the Chinese Military.
NOTE: UFO Roundup and Agence France Presse reported on this UFO incident in November 1998. The Chinese Air Force jet
fighter pilot chased 1 UFO (not 2, as reported here earlier), according to the articles (misunderstanding due to language differences between English and Chinese). The crew of the J-6 jet fighter consisted of a pilot and a radar officer. According to the UFO Roundup article, the UFO disappeared before two more modern Chinese jet fighters could arrive in the area. The UFO was sighted by 140 people at the Air Force Base. And the UFO was tracked by radar.

UFO Case Report:
“UFO OBSERVED OVER SUBMARINE BASE AND NUCLEAR WEAPONS FACILITY – April 22, 1998”
(NICAP.org)
The whole UFO case report:
“Synopsis: From between approximately 2120 hrs. and 2130 hrs. (Pacific
Daylight Time), one or more objects, variously described as a blue-green
sphere, an oval of blue-green light, or a disc with six lights on it, was
reported from multiple points throughout western Washington State. The object
was reported to change direction of flight on at least three occasions, to
execute a rolling maneuver on at least one occasion, to come to an almost
complete stop in two locations, to reverse its general course of travel from
south to north, and to change its appearance, including its color, on at least
two occasions. One reliable observer witnessed the object to pass slowly over
the center of Bangor Submarine Base on Hood
Canal , approximately 20-30 miles to the west of Seattle , passing directly
over the underground bunkers where nuclear weapons are thought to be stored. In
excess of a dozen seemingly independent and reliable reports regarding the
alleged sightings were received by the National UFO
Reporting Center
between April 22 and May 11.
Summary of Witness Reports:
1. Snohomish County, WA: A 16-yr. old male and his mother, located
approximately 15-20 miles
north of Seattle, witnessed a blue-green object suddenly descend from the sky,
hover, and then accelerate to the south-southwest and disappear in that
direction at approximately 2120 hrs. (PDT).
2. Poulsbo , WA : Larry Swanson, a former federal employee
and computer specialist, who resides approximately ¼ mile from the northeast
corner of the Bangor Submarine Base, allegedly witnessed a brightly lighted,
disc-shaped object glide silently over the center of that military facility at
approximately 2122 hrs. The object tilted somewhat, so the witness was able to
see the ventral side of the object quite clearly, he reports. A computer-generated
graphic, provided by the witness, is shown above.
3. Auburn , WA : A man out walking his dog witnessed a
perfectly circular, blue-green ball of light descend from north to south in the
western sky at 2120 hrs. at a very high velocity.
4. Puyallup , WA : A man driving to work witnessed a
striking blue-green ball of light descending at a 30-35 degree angle from north
to south in the western sky at a very high velocity.
5. Shelton , WA : A young father witnessed a blue-green
ball of light streak across the sky to the west of his location.
6. Oakville, WA: A mother and her two sons, driving west on State Route
12, located to the west of Interstate 5, witnessed a ‘disc shaped’ object,
imbedded in a cloud of blue-green light, streak from north to south in the
western sky. The object appeared to ‘follow the contour’ of the horizon,
dipping down suddenly, and then rising up again during its rapid flight to the
south. The object was reported to generate a peculiar ‘tail,’ which streamed
off the aft end of the object for a fleeting instant. All three witnesses
believed they observed three lights on the top of the disc, and three lights on
its ventral side, as well.
7. Steilacoom , WA : A woman witnessed a blue-green ball of
light streak from north to south in the western sky at 2123 hrs..
8. Vancouver , WA : A husband and wife witnessed a
blue-green ball of light move slowly from north to south in the western sky.
Very peculiar appearance to the object, they reported, with a peculiar looking
“mist” surrounding the object.
9. Portland , OR :
A young musician witnessed a blue-green ball of light move from west to east in
the northern sky from his vantage point in the city of Portland , OR .
10. Vancouver , WA : A male Ph.D. in computer science,
driving north on Interstate 5 witnessed a blue-green ball of light, that seemed
to him to descend vertically ahead of his automobile and hover momentarily
above the highway. The witness added that he had experienced some very unusual
emotional reactions to the event.
11. Yakima , WA : A law enforcement officer witnessed a
blue-green ball of light moving at a very high velocity from south to north for
approximately 2 seconds. During his sighting, the object suddenly changed its
color from green to red. The sighting occurred at 2130 hrs., the witness
thought.

Wikipedia article: “Naval Submarine Base Bangor”:
The whole Wikipedia article:
“Naval Submarine Base Bangor is a former submarine base of the
United States Navy that was merged with Naval Station Bremerton into Naval Base
Kitsap in 2004.[1]
History
The Naval Support Base Bangor's naval history began in 1942 when it
became a site for shipping ammunition to the Pacific Theater of Operations
during World War II. For an expansion and to establish a permanent naval base,
the U.S. Navy purchased 7,676
acres (3100 hectares ) of land on the Hood Canal
near the town of Bangor
for approximately $18.7 million. The U.S. Naval ammunition magazine was
established on June 5, 1944, for its construction, and it began operations in
January 1945.
Beginning in World War II, and through the Korean War and the Vietnam
War, until January 1973, the Bangor Annex continued its service as a U.S. Navy
Ammunition Depot responsible for shipping conventional weapons abroad.
In 1973, the Navy announced the selection of the Bangor base as the home port for the first
squadron of Ohio-class Trident Fleet Ballistic Missile submarines. On February
1, 1977, the Trident Submarine Base was officially activated. Naval Base Kitsap
includes the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) which provides
maintenance, calibration, missile assembly/test, spare parts, and spare nuclear
warhead storage for the Trident II ballistic missiles that are carried by the
nuclear submarines.
This Trident submarine base is the sole one for the U.S. Pacific Fleet, with the Trident submarine base atKings
Bay , Georgia ,
for the U.S. Atlantic Fleet being the only other one.”

”Subject: Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant/
Triangle UFO reports nearby”
By Daniel Wilson, 2 September 2004
(NICAP.org)
Quote from the e-mail:
“HERE IS ANOTHER CASE OF A TROUBLED NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AND
TRIANGLE-SHAPED UFOS BEING REPORTED NEARBY.”
My comment:
In this e-mail, Daniel Wilson presents seven NUFORC UFO case reports. The
North Carolina UFO incidents occurred on 23 June 1998, 12 August 1999, 22
November 2000, 1 January 2002, 2 August 2002, 21 November 2002, 10 July 2003.
He also presents a news article (“Problems mount at Shearon Harris”)
that reports on the 2003 Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant emergency shutdowns.
The Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant is located in New Hill , North Carolina .
Wikipedia article: “Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant”:
Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“The Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant is a nuclear power plant with a
single Westinghouse designed pressurized-water nuclear reactor operated by Duke
Energy. It was named in honor of W. Shearon Harris, former president of
Carolina Power & Light (predecessor of Progress Energy Inc.).[2] Located in
New Hill, North Carolina, in the United States, about 20 miles (30 km ) southwest of Raleigh,
it generates 900 MWe, has a 523-foot (160 m ) natural draft cooling tower, and uses
Harris Lake for cooling. The reactor achieved criticality in January 1987 and
began providing power commercially on May 2 of that year.
The Shearon Harris site was originally designed for four reactors, but
cost and weakening demand despite a growing population resulted in three of the
reactors being canceled. The final cost approached $3.9B, including safety
upgrades mandated after the Three Mile Island
accident.
On November 16, 2006, the operator applied to the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) for a renewal and extension of the plant's operating
license.[3] The NRC granted the renewal on December 17, 2008, extending the
license from forty years to sixty.[4]”
