Two U.S. Air Force airmen, Gary Corley and Randolph Wogoman, sighted a UFO over George Air Force Base (located within the city limits, 13 kilometres (8 miles) north west of central Victorville, California) on 19 June 1972, at around 1:00 a.m., according to the article (Page 13):
