UFO Radio Interview:
“Dr. John Alexander –
UFO Research and the U.S. Government”

Published: 19 February 2019
(Open Minds UFO Radio, Tempe, Arizona)

Video text:
“John Alexander is a retired Army Colonel who has been a critical figure in the field of non-lethal weapons and also played a role in U.S. Army Intelligence research in the paranormal. In the 1980s John put together a group of intelligence officials, members of all branches of the military and the defense aerospace industry to investigate UFO secrecy. His group was called the Advanced Theoretical Physics (ATP) project. In this episode, we discuss the similarities between John’s ATP and the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). Due to the attention the disclosure of the existence of AATIP has garnered, there is a resurgence of interest in the UFO topic in Washington D.C. Relying on John’s insider knowledge on how the government works, we also discuss the difficulties a UFO research program would have functioning inside the government, the concerns the military or other credible organizations may have hosting a UFO program, and whether a government UFO program is the best option for resorcin into the UFO Phenomenon.

John began his Army career in 1956, and he retired a colonel in 1988. His Army career included positions in special operations, intelligence, and research and development. From 1966 to 1969 John commanded special forces teams in Vietnam and Thailand. His last military assignment was as Director, Advanced System Concepts Office, U.S. Army Laboratory Command. After retiring from the Army, John joined Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a program manager, he conducted non-lethal warfare briefings at the highest levels of government including the White House Staff, National Security Council, Members of Congress, Director of Central Intelligence, and senior Defense officials. John also met with heads of industry, presented at academic institutions, including Columbia, Harvard, and MIT. He has advised the CIA, US Special Operations Command, and the National Intelligence Council. In 2003, John served as a mentor to Afghan Ministry of Defense senior officials through the Office of Military Cooperation – Afghanistan, (Coalition Forces) Kabul. Academically, he holds an M.A., Pepperdine University, Ph.D., Walden University, and later attended the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and the Kennedy School of Government general officer program ‘National and International Security for Senior Executives’ at Harvard University.”

The interview starts at 25:25.

UFO News Article:
“Pilot Reports Winged ‘Vs’ Over Idaho”

24 July 1949
(The Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake City, Utah)

Source: theufochronicles.com

The whole article:
“Seven V-shaped objects which appeared about the size of fighter planes were reported flying within 1500 or 2000 feet of a civilian aircraft over the Mountain Home desert Sunday (24 July 1949).

The pilot told the Idaho Statesman, Boise, that so far as he could determine the objects were not United States planes.

He notified the Civil Aeronautics administration radio station of his experience and the 190th fighter squadron of the Idaho national guard reported it to McChord Field, Washington.

The Statesman quoted the pilot as saying he was ‘frightened and shaken’ by the experience. He said the objects, in tight formation, but not the type of formation used by military aircraft, were flying ‘at tremendous speed.’

The pilot, the Statesman said, has wide experience in aviation. He trained pilots during the war and operates an airport in the Boise Valley. He made his information available only on the condition that his name would not be used, the paper said.

The pilot described the objects as being in the shape of a V, with a solid, circular body under the V.

There was no evidence of any means of propulsion, he said—no propeller and no smoke trails indicating jet or rocket power.

There were no markings of any kind. The color, he said, was a shade he ‘couldn’t describe and hadn’t seen before.’

He said he had the objects under observation for two minutes.

The pilot said he was about ten miles west of Mountain Home, flying toward Boise at about 10,000 feet on the right side of the highway. He said the objects were flying at about 9000 or 9500 feet.

He described the formation as in two lines of three each with the seventh object either in the center, between the two lines, or above them.”

UFO Report:
“The 1982 UFO Chronology”

Created: 15 January 2008
Updated: 9 December 2016
(NICAP.org)

Quote from the UFO report:
“This is the currently chronology of UFO incidents and events for 1982. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to Richard Hall (the original 1982 chronology from UFOE II), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online NICAP DBase [NSID]). You will note the many foreign reports that we are now being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us. As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to 1969) involved the expertise of two other team members: Rebecca Wise (Project Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns).

April 29, 1982; near Plattsburgh Air Force Base, NY
11:40 PM. A woman named Mary E. Boule saw a silent dome-shaped object near Plattsburgh Air Force Base. The object had a turquoise blue light on top and portholes. It flew low at 400-500 feet altitude, and definitely entered the air base’s restricted air space. (Source: CUFOS files, letter from witness).

Nov. 27, 1982; Palatine, IL
5:00 AM. In the suburbs of Cook County, there was a vehicle encounter between three police officers and a domed disc-shaped object 30 feet in diameter, which emitted a light beam toward the ground. It began when a luminous object with brilliant illumination brightly illuminated a police patrol car, then changed direction when pursued. The white domed disc was later seen to the east, with a light beam extended toward the ground, as it descended behind the tree line. The entire episode lasted about three minutes. Dec. 31, 1982; Kent Cliffs, NY
11:54 PM. In the lower Hudson River Valley a police officer and his wife spotted a delta-shaped UFO making a faint, low frequency hum. The colored lights on the object switched off and three bright white lights lit up the ground. He was able to shoot some movie film of the UFO, but the images are of low quality. (Source: J. Allen Hynek & Phil Imbrogno, Night Siege: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings, p. 6).
