UFO News Article:
“ASKS TRACKING OF ‘SAUCERS’ ”
26 February 1951
(The Times-News, Hendersonville, North Carolina)
The whole article:
“Dr. Anthony O. Marrachi [sic] (Mirarchi), former Air
Force scientist, urged today that radar and spotter observation posts be set up
to track down flying saucers ‘that may lead to another Pearl Harbor.’
Dr. Mirarchi, who investigated more than 300 reports
of flying saucers as chief of the Air Force’s atmospheric composition bureau of
the Geophysical Research Division in Watertown last year, brushed aside recent
statements by Dr. Urner Liddell, a navy scientist.
He said Liddell’s conclusion that flying saucers
really were plastic balloons sent into the upper atmosphere by the navy for
radiation research ‘does not tell the whole story.’
‘The results of my own investigation,’ he said,
‘indicate that we cannot exclude the possibility that the so-called flying
saucers is the result of experiments by a potential enemy of the United
States.’
‘If they were launched by a foreign power, then they
could lead to a worse Pearl Harbor than we have ever experienced,’ he said.
Dr. Mirarchi urged that a ‘considerable appropriation
be granted the Air Force to set up photographic, radar and spotter tracking
points to study the mysterious phenomena.’
He said he had issued a report to the Air Force on his
findings last year, but did not know whether the inquiry had been continued.
‘The Navy’s report is erroneous. It lulls people into
a false sense of security,’ he added.
Asked about an Air Force statement that more than 500
investigates were made without one bit of concrete evidence to back up reports
of flying saucers, Dr. Mirarchi said, ‘I thought I was the only one making such
an investigation. And as far as I’m concerned, there certainly was evidence to
back up my conclusion.’ ”

“2013 interview with former U.S. Navy fighter pilot
Clarence ‘Bud’ Clem, who describes an attempted intercept of a UFO that maneuvered
above the Hanford plutonium production plant, in January 1945.
In 2014—seven
months after the interview with Clem—declassified
U.S. Army documents were brought to Robert Hastings’ attention. They confirm
that military radar had tracked an ‘unidentified aircraft’ maneuvering over the
Hanford facility on three dates in January 1945. Clem’s military records state
that his Hellcat F6F fighter squadron was at Naval Air Station Pasco from
January 9 to February 15, 1945.”

Fran Ridge:
Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, in his book (‘The Report on
Unidentified Flying Objects’) wrote that it was just a matter of days after the
top secret Estimate of the Situation was signed, sealed, and sent on its way,
that the third big sighting of 1948 took place. This was the famous Fargo, ND
case, one of the cases ‘that ‘proved’ to
ATIC’s intelligence analysts that UFOs were real.’ Small lights in the sky are
easy prey for the skeptics, until one reads the details of the reports. This is
not only unexplained, it’s a good report supporting the existence of a type of
object that has become known as a probes. Documents found recently (see USAF
SIGN3-2 below) state the object detected the approaching F-51 and took evasive
action.
Brad Sparks:
Oct. 1, 1948; Fargo, North Dakota (BBU)
9:00-9:27 p.m. (MST). Air National Guard fighter pilot
Lt. George F. Gorman plus 4 others including 2 CAA tower controllers saw a
small 6-8-inch round white ball of light with a flat, no-depth disc-like
appearance, blinking off and on at slow speed. First spotted by pilot Dr. A. D.
Cannon and passenger Einar Neilson aboard Piper Cub aircraft at 1600 ft AGL, N of Hector
Field moving fast to the W above them at about 250-270 mph, spotted by Gorman
shortly after. Gorman radioed tower and began pursuit at 9:07 p.m. Cannon and
Neilson landed, went up into airport tower and with binoculars watched Lt.
Gorman attempt to chase the light in his F-51 fighter, closest approach less
than 500 ft
distance on his first pass at about 5,000 ft . Gorman climbed to 14,000 ft but stalled out
unable to intercept light at about 16,000 ft . Light made evasive and aggressive
maneuvers, such as seeming to try to ram the F-51, that outperformed the F-51
at a top speed 600+ mph. Light dropped to 11,000 ft , Gorman attempted
to dive on it, light pulled up, rose vertically until it disappeared. 27 mins.
(Sparks)
George Gorman:
‘I can tell you this much, because it’s been mentioned
in print. There was thought behind every move the light made. It wasn’t any
radar-responder gadget making it veer away from my ship.’ ”

UFO News Article:
“UFO over Stockton”
20 March 1975
(Lodi News-Sentinel, California)
The police officers Harold D. Dodson
and Patrick C. Green and two civilians, George W. Leech, 53, and his wife, Berthadelle,
sighted a reddish orange UFO over Stockton, California, on the night of 18/19
March 1975.
The police officers and George
W. Leech reported that the UFO was circular shaped.
Quote from the article:
“While Leech watched, the object ‘swung around and
seemed to change into a circular shape (from a cylindrical shape).’ The whole
time, Leech said, the object made a whirring sound, ‘like wind sounds way in
the distance.’
At 2:37 a.m. officr Dodson called into the police
department from his home. He reported a weird noise directly over his house at
500 to 700 feet .
Dodson said the noise was three times as loud as a jet and made a ‘hollow sound
that howled.’ Dodson told police that he was sure the sound was not a jet. Dodson
said he rushed to a window but the source of the noise was gone by then.”

feet across 10-15 feet high. Lights were amber red and either
light red or orange. Lights appeared to rotate with object. No trail or sound. Lights
flashed. Elevation about 75 ft
on azimuth of 020 degrees. Observer in Hampton Virginia, object over Plum Tree
Island. Object flew zig-zag path and landed on shore, remained there for about
5 minutes. Object then took off to the north, turned right and departed to East
at high rate of speed.”

“Dan Wilson:
Jan. 27, 1965; Plum Tree Island (Hampton), Virginia
(BB)
6:00 p.m. EST. A NASA research engineer, A. G.
Crimmins (located at Hampton) observed an object that was approximately 75 feet across and 10 to 15 feet in height. The
object had 3 to 7 lights colored red and orange. The object appeared to rotate.
The object first appeared at an azimuth of 20 degrees and a maximum of 75 feet of elevation. The
object moved approximately 1/4 mile west of the original position on a zigzag
course and then appeared to land on the shore. It remained fixed for
approximately five minutes. The object then took off to the north and then
turned right to depart to the east at a high rate of speed. The object was viewed
through 20-power binoculars. There were apparently other reports of similar
sightings in the same area at approximately the same time. (UFOE II, Section
IV).
Fran Ridge:
Jan. 27, 1965; Plum Tree Island (Hampton), Virginia
(BB)
While in the process of documenting the Jan. 23, 1965
E-M case at Lightfoot, Virginia (N. of Williamsburg) I found that among the
witnesses in this mini-flap there were two NASA research engineers, A. G.
Crimmins and Maj. John Nayadley, a retired AF jet pilot. ‘I watched it through binoculars,’
Crimmins stated. ‘It was zigzagging as if searching for a landing spot. I could
see flashing lights on the edge or rim of a rapidly rotating disc.’ The UFO
made a touch landing, then climbed steeply out of sight. Without any checkup,
AF Headquarters hurriedly explained it as a helicopter the NASA engineers
failed to recognize in their excitement. Too late. HQ learned that Langley AFB
had ruled this out – no helicopters were flying in the area. (NICAP files)”

UFO Report:
“NICAP UFO investigator Mar-Apr 1965”
(NICAP.org)
The whole UFO report:
“On Jan. 27, Maj. John Nayadley, a retired AF pilot
who is now a NASA research engineer, sighted a fast-moving object at Hampton,
Va. At first, its speed led him to think it a ‘shooting star.’ But when it came
closer, he saw it was a V shaped object with blinking red-orange lights on the
outer edges. The sighting was fully confirmed by another NASA engineer, A. G.
Crimmins, Jr., who saw the UFO maneuvering close to the ground.
‘It was zigzagging as if searching for a landing spot,’
said Mr. Crimmins, in his report to NICAF (read: NICAP). ‘I watched it through
20 x 50 binoculars and I could see the same flashing lights. They appeared to
be on the edge or rim of a rapidly rotating disc.’
After a brief touch-landing, the flying disc took off
and rapidly climbed out of sight.
The AF quickly explained the UFO as a helicopter. When
an investigator from Langley AFB questioned Crimmins, he said that ‘no helicopters
were flying at that time.’
But AFHQ still uses this false answer, ridiculing an
experienced AF pilot and a NASA engineer as too befuddled or excited to
recognize an ordinary ‘whirly-bird.’
Soon alter this case broke, Maj. Hector Quintanella
[sic], UFO Project chief, came to Richmond to debunk the numerous recent
Virginia sightings. Playing up frauds, delusions and fake photos, Quintanella
combined ridicule, evasion or denial of documented facts and claimed not a
single UFO report had ever been proved true.”
