UFO News Article:
“St. George residents sight UFO over river”

17 March 1975
(Bangor Daily News, Maine)

The article reports on a March 1975 UFO incident that occurred over the St. George River in St. George, Maine:

Quote from the article:
“The woman was not alone in viewing a strange object in the sky about a week ago. It was estimated eight to 10 area residents watched the unexplained object for up to two hours, with one resident seemingly getting a response fom a high-powered ground light signal.

The object, said the St. George resident, appeared to be larger than a ‘jet’s wing,’ surrounded by about a dozen red and green lights, and with three large white lights in a triangular setting on the front. After attempting to signal the object with the ground light, the colored lights went out. The object then proceeded to make a low pass over several homes in the area.

‘It made a humming noise,’ the woman said. ‘We all heard it. It was not loud.’

There was no form which could be distinguished in the night sky, the witness said, but the three white lights were clearly visible.

‘This (UFO) is not like a plane.’ She said the UFO simply hovered in one spot for lengthy periods. ‘I never saw a plane do that,’ she said.”

“June 10, 1992; Coatesville, PA
4:30 PM. Several workers at the Lukens Steel Company plant saw a disc-shaped UFO land on the factory grounds around quitting time. The security guard said that the object touched down briefly and then took off in the direction of the old Coatesville Hospital. The company, a defense contractor, refused to let UFO investigators talk with any of the witnesses or answer further questions about what they saw. Attempts to set up interviews outside of the plant were also unsuccessful. (Thomas Carey, MUFON; West Chester Daily Local News, June 12, 1992.)”

UFO News Article:
“ ‘Flying Saucers’ Seen In Dakota”

26 November 1956
(The Wilmington News, North Carolina)

The whole article:
“Two more unidentified objects sighted in the skies over South Dakota brought back reports of ‘flying saucers’ today.

A group of Hot Springs residents spotted one near here Sunday at the same time that a jet interceptor from Ellsworth Air Force Base reportedly registered an unidentified ‘blip’ on its radar screen.

Spokesmen for the Air Force, however, have not confirmed the report.

Earlier Sunday, two men in the South Dakota state motor patrol told of spotting a ‘salad bowl’-shaped object waving back and forth across a road near Pierre, S.D., about 300 miles east of here.

Donald Kelm and Jack Peters said the floating object was deep red in color, and that it was between 50 and 100 feet off the ground. There was no noise, Peters said.

Sheriff Allen Coates (or Coate) and his son, Robert, said the Hot Springs object was brilliantly illuminated and bobbed up and down in the sky. Young Coates (or Coate) described it as flashing red, green and yellow.”

UFO Report:
“Looking Back – by Bob Gribble
November 1956 – 40 Years Ago”

(National UFO Reporting Center, Davenport, Washington)

Quote from the report:
“A UFO flap covering the area of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota began on November 8th. The sightings, made during nearly every hour of the day and night, continued until December 2nd. More than 85 separate visual sighting reports from some 60 different localities were received from the three state area. Due to the unusually large number of reports, it was possible, in some instances, to determine that the same phenomenon was seen at widely separated areas. In other cases, the sighting reports indicate a great number of different objects were aloft at one time over different areas.”

“UAP sightings – Bureau of Meteorology –
1982-2006”

By Keith Basterfield, 30 November 2015
(UFOs – scientific research, Campbelltown,
New South Wales, Australia)

Quote from the article:
Introduction

Although the majority of UAP files held by the National Archives of Australia (NAA), are sourced from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), there were a number of other Australian government departments which held such files. These included the former Department of Civil Aviation; the former Department of Supply and the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

NAA file series PP956/1, control symbol; 45/38 titled "Observations - General by outside authorities (includes UFO)." Its date range is 1972-1981.

Melbourne based researcher Paul Dean had this file digitised in 2013 and it was found,  (total 297 pages) to consist of:
1. Reports of meteorological phenomena.
2. Reports of astronomical phenomena.
3. Reports of UAP.
4. Various miscellaneous pieces of correspondence.

I prepared a summary of UAP reports on this file in a post dated 29 March 2013 The file closed with the fact that papers after 1981 were on file 45/38 part 2.”
