UFO News Article (Blog):
“An ice bath for HRC’s transparency”

By Billy Cox, 9 April 2016
(De Void, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Florida)

Billy Cox reports about Robert L. Hastings’ new UFO documentary film, “UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed.”

Quote from the article:
“After months of trying to find a proper commercial venue for a lifetime’s worth of research, Robert Hastings has given up on trying to put his documentary in multiplexes and living rooms. Beginning Monday, his “UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed” will go online as a $4.99 rental at https://vimeo.com/ondemand/ufosandnukes. A disappointment, to be sure.

“I tried to find some network to license it but to no avail,” Hastings states in an email to De Void. “I am told that indy producers have virtually no chance of getting their work picked up by most networks. Some (including History) won’t even accept emails from producers, only distributors. So, a month ago, I contacted Gravitas Ventures – a major film distributor – which did indeed offer us a contract. But its terms were terrible and so we passed. Finally, we just decided to go the Vimeo On Demand route.”

Here’s hoping the new Vimeo listing will draw the sort of traffic that’ll make the suits rethink their omniscience, because the story is well told, no frills. To reiterate, Hastings adapted the documentary from his 2008 nonfiction book UFOs and Nukes. Some 150 military veterans and missile engineers have now stepped up to charge that, for decades, America’s weapons of mass destruction have been monitored and tampered with by what Hastings describes as “technologically advanced observers whose identities and intentions remain unknown.” Hastings followed it up in 2010 with a Washington press conference, where half a dozen of those eyewitnesses discussed the ease with which some of the world’s most restricted air corridors had been repeatedly violated, again and again, in brazen fashion. The story made a quick sploosh! of headlines before sinking like a pebble.”

2 August 1952
(Spokane Daily Chronicle, Washington)

The article reports on the UFO investigation work of the Air Defense Command (headquartered at Ent Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado):

Wikipedia article: “Aerospace Defense Command”:

Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“Aerospace Defense Command was a major command of the United States Air Forces, responsible for continental air defence. It was activated in 1968 and disbanded in 1980. Its predecessor, Air Defense Command, was established in 1946, briefly inactivated in 1950, reactivated in 1951, and then redesignated Aerospace rather than Air in 1968. Its mission was to provide air defense of the Continental United States (CONUS). It directly controlled all active measures, and was tasked to coordinate all passive means of air defense.”

“Veteran Pilot Quit When
Flying Ceased To Be Fun”

13 August 1961
(Daytona Beach Morning Journal, Florida)

The article reports on the career of U.S. military/airline pilot Robert Lee Williamson:

Quote from the article:
“Enroute from San Antonio to Houston April 25, 1950, on a beautifully clear day, an object was pointed out to Williamson by his copilot.

As Williamson described it: ‘It was perfectly round and silvery white like a full moon risen in the daytime. It also had the uneven and pocked look of the Moon on the circumference.

‘It was traveling at a terrific rate of speed from northwest to southwest. I turned the ship so passengers on both sides of the ship could see it, and they did.

‘Shortly after it disappeared, it came back at the same speed, going in the opposite direction.’

Williamson landed amid the clamor of the press from both Texas cities. He refused to comment on the incident.”

UFO News Article:
“Many Report ‘Flying Saucers’ ”

19 February 1953
(The Horry County News and The Loris Sentinel, South Carolina)

The article reports on a 13-14 February 1953 Horry County, South Carolina, UFO flap that involved two possible animal mutilation incidents (cow/horse) and animal reactions (dogs/horse):

Farmer Arthur Marlowe (of Route 4, Loris) observed a UFO on
14 February 1953, at 00:30 a.m.

14 hours later Marlowe found out that he had lost a cow on the spot over which the UFO had hovered. The cow’s legs were folded up underneath her and there was no sign of a struggle. The cow’s nose was pushed slightly into the dirt and pieces of the rye from the pasture were in her mouth, Marlowe said.

According to Marlowe, Leon Hardee, who lived one-half miles south of him, had lost a horse two days earlier with no signs of a struggle and with grass in its mouth.

Quote from the article:
“In Loris and elsewhere in the county and adjoining counties numerous people during the last week have reported sighting unfamiliar lighted objects passing throught he sky.

Marlowe, who lives two miles south of Highway 9 on the old Whiteville-Conway road, stated that he was awakened at approximately 30 minutes after midnight on Saturday morning, February 14th, by the barking of his dogs and the braying of his horse.

After throwing on his clothes, he looked out of a window and saw so much light that he thought his barn was on fire. When he got outside he discovered that the light was coming from an object about 70 feet above the ground and about 100 yards beyond his barn.

He was able to make out three cylindrical beams of light coming from the object, one from what appeared to him to be the front, another from the side facing him and the third from the rear of the object. The light was so bright, he said, that he could have read fine print where he was standing approximately 100 yards from it.

Although he had his gun with him and three times started to shoot the object, he decided not to in hopes that the object might settle to the ground.

The object was about as long as a boxcar and was oval shaped, Marlowe said. He was unable to see any markings of any kind on it. He did hear a noise coming from it which sounded like an electric motor under load.

After he had watched the object for approximately 25 minutes, it began to move gradually to the west getting higher as it moved away. Marlowe said that the noise coming from it became louder as it began to move.

While Marlowe’s experience is the most spectacular report, others have seen mysterious lights passing through the sky. The Lacy Hardees, the Roscoe Wilsons, the Levi Shelleys, and Miss Emmadell Prince, all of whom live in the newly developed area of Loris behind Prince’s Esso Station, report that between nine and 9:15 Friday night, February 13th, they saw some mysterious object.

They first noticed the object travelling from the south of Loris. They watched it move over Loris and on to the north. Then it turned around and passed back towards the south.

All they could see was a light, shining steadily, about the size of a fist, Roscoe Wilson said. When the object turned, the light became larger, but returned to its former size after it straightened up.

The Wilsons and Hardees said thet the object turned not to the right or left but turned up when it changed course to the north of Loris.

After the object got too close to the horizon to be seen the Lacy Hardees rode to the junction of Highway 701 and the street that goes down by H. Clay Hughes Store and Brick Warehouse and watched the object for about 25 minutes.

At this time the object which part of the time appeared about the size of star seemed to circle down until it reached a certain height. Then it rapidly darted up and to one side, and then began circling down again. It kept up this motion all the time they watched it.

They left their vantage point twice to find the Loris police. After they returned the second time they discovered that the object had disappeared.

Earlier the same evening Bob Benton, station agent for the Atlantic Coast Line at Loris, sighted a strangely lighted object in the sky at Nixon’s Crossroads on Highway 9 as he was driving to his home at Cherry Grove Beach.

The object came from over the water and seemed to curve to the south of the land. ‘It was just a big ball of white light on a level course,’ Mr. Benton said.

When he got to Cherry Grove Beach N. F. Nixon, Sally Rogers, and a Cox man told him that they had also seen the object.

Mark Garner of Myrtle Beach, co-owner of this paper, states that he saw a lighted object pass through the skies the same night at at 6:20 P.M.

A similar object was reported seen a number of times the same night in Marion County.”

UFO News Article:
“Flying object sighting unexplained”

9 January 1987
(Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pennsylvania)

The article reports on the 31 August 1986 New Stanton (10-mile area between New Stanton and Connellsville, Pennsylvania) UFO incident. The UFO landed on a hillside.

Twenty witnesses sighted a low flying, cylindrical shaped, metallic UFO with multiple yellow-green lights.

Quote from the article:
“ ‘It’s a good one,’ (Stan) Gordon said of the Aug. 31 sighting. ‘Many people saw it move low over their cars. We have a signed statement from an FAA (Federal Aviation Administration (not Agency)) traffic controller with 16 years experience who saw it and said it wasn’t any type of conventional aircraft.’

Motorists in the New Stanton area first believed the low-flying object was an aircraft in trouble and as they came around a bend, found a hillside on fire. Several people stopped their cars and climbed the embankment where all they found were two rings of fire, Gordon said.”

The article also mentions two other 1986 Pennsylvania UFO incidents that involve cylindrical shaped UFOs:

UFO News Article:
“UFOs in Vernon County? –
Strange Objects Sighted”

31 December 1973
(The Nevada Daily Mail, Missouri)

Quote from the article:
“Since early November, strange things have been witnessed in the Vernon County skies by a number of persons who, until recently, have been rather reluctant to discuss what they have seen.

Dispatchers at the Nevada Police Department said they have received reports in recent months, primarily from the Walker area, where the farmers expressed fear that someone has intentions of rustling their cattle via the airways.

Probably the most detailed account of sightings comes from an area northeast of Nevada near the Marmaton River where Charlie Simpson resides. Persons who know Simpson vouch for his honesty, sincerity and truthfulness.

Simpson said his first experience with an unidentified flying object (UFO) came on about Nov. 1 (1973) when he and Steve Wolf heard a roaring sound near his house. Both rushed outside to see what was making the roar, and Simpson gave the following account:

‘We walked out the door and saw something moving out of the southeast heading toward the northwest. It was about 100 feet above the treetops, and I could best describe it as a movie rocket.’

Simpson said it was too dark to describe the object in detail, as the only visible portion they witnessed was an apparent flame belching from the  rear of the object. ‘We watched it until we lost sight of it because of the trees,’ said Simpson.

‘It moved really fast and along the direction of the river,’ he continued. Simpson said about a month ago the same type of noise was heard, but nothing was seen.”
