UFO TV Series Segment Transcript:
“HUDSON VALLEY UFO”

(Unsolved.com (“Unsolved Mysteries”), U.S.A.)

This TV series segment reports on the 1980s Hudson Valley, New York, UFO wave.

The segment focuses on the UFO incidents that occurred between 1983–1986.

In the comments section, UFO witness after UFO witness write about their 1980s Hudson Valley UFO sightings.

In my opinion—these eyewitness accounts, sighting testimonies by many other witnesses, the animal reaction cases, and the Bob Pozzuoli UFO video—prove that people saw unidentified flying objects.

“REMEMBER WHEN UFOS
INVADED BREWSTER IN 1984?”

16 October 2018
(WDBY (“Kicks 105.5”), Patterson, New York)

Quote from the article:
“It was a page right out of War of the Worlds, only this time, it was real. Back in the mid-1980s, UFO sightings were reported on over fifty separate nights in the sky over Brewster and parts of the Hudson Valley [New York].

There were over 9,000 eyewitness accounts of UFO sightings during an 18-month period, many of the which took place in June and July of 1984.”

UFO Case Directory (Animal Effect Cases):
“Sandy Hook, Connecticut
March 31, 1983”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
At 8:30 pm, Thunder, a 175-pound Great Dane, ‘went crazy’ and barked for 3 minutes. His owner, Cindy Tillison, went to see what was going on. Thunder was standing at the sliding doors in the kitchen barking toward the woods. When Tillison looked, she saw a huge V-shaped object. The object remained for 20 minutes and, throughout this time, Thunder appeared frightened and barked continuously with ears straight up. The next day he refused to go out.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Feature:
The V-shaped object was glowing a very bright auburn color and had lights similar to headlights but much larger. When Tillison flicked her floodlights on and off, the object appeared to move in response, after which she left the lights off. During the 20 minutes of observation, the object projected a big, steady beam of light, seemingly from its center. The beam was very wide, estimated a little less than half the size of the object. The big round lights did change, going off [and on?—jw] and changing colors. The object disappeared when the witness was not looking.

No sound was mentioned. No EM effects or physiological effects were reported.

UFO Case Directory (Animal Effect Cases):
“Yorktown, New York
March 24, 1983”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
When a group of V-shaped lights approached and passed almost directly overhead, a family’s pet cat, appearing frightened with its hair standing on end and its tail straight up, ran into the house.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
At 8:45 pm, A Yorktown man with an aerospace background saw a V-formation of lights that circled his home twice. He estimated its altitude at 1500 feet and he heard a very quiet sound coming from it.

Jerry Karp, advertising executive, who lived a half mile away from the above location, noticed bright lights through his window.  He went outdoors and saw a V-shaped series of lights approaching and called his family to come out and look at them.  When the lights were at their closest point to them (almost overhead), the cat reacted as described above.  At this point the object turned 90 degrees and moved away.  When overhead, they heard an engine-like sound that was not loud but clearly audible.

UFO Case Directory (Animal Effect Cases):
“Ossining, New York
March 24, 1983”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
David Scarpino, accountant, was walking his Golden Retriever around the Ossining Reservoir at 8:15 pm. He saw bright lights in a boomerang formation hovering over a large tree a few feet away from him. His dog did not appear to notice the object.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
Scarpino noticed the lights over his shoulder and turned to see 12 bright lights as described above. He thought the lights were on one solid object and compared its size to that of a 747. He could hear no sound. As he watched, the lights slowly turned 180 degrees ‘as if on a wheel’ and started moving south at walking speed. The object again hovered. All but one blue and one green light went out, and then those lights blinked out. Nothing more was seen.

No EM effects and no physiological effects were reported.

This was one of hundreds of boomerang sightings between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm in Westchester and Putnam Counties.

The whole UFO case report:
”8:00 PM. A mother and daughter named O’Driscoll, driving near the frozen White Pond in Kent Cliffs saw a silent, multi-colored 200-300 foot wide boomerang-shaped object with many lights, at a minimum distance of 100 meters, which seemed to respond to their thoughts. It had a crisscross lattice structure and tubes on its underneath side. Their car radio experience RF interference. Another independent witness that night saw probably the same object, a V-shaped array of 50 lights with the colors amber, red, and blue. (Sources: J. Allen Hynek and Philip Imbrogno, Night Seige, p. 8; UNICAT database, case 209, citing J. Allen Hynek; Richard F. Haines, CE-5: Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind, p. 156).”

UFO News Article:
“Officers in Memphis sight blinking UFO”

17 May 1977
(Big Spring Herald, Texas)

Source: NewspaperArchive.com

The whole article:
“At least five law enforcement officers reported sighting a huge unidentified flying object with red and green blinking lights over Memphis early today [17 May 1977].

‘It was almost standing still and only about 200 feet off the ground, just over the power line towers,’ said Patrolman T.L. Todd, who was one of three groups of officers who reported the object.

‘It was in the shape of a perfect triangle, standing on its edge. It was so close it almost looked as if I could reach out and touch it.’

Todd and his partner, officer J.W. Jeter, were on patrol about 3 a.m. when they spotted the craft near the Norris Road exit of Interstate 240.

‘We called the police dispatcher to report what we had seen and we were still on the air talking to him when a Tennessee State Highway Patrolman called in from Collierville to report he had [seen] it,’ Jeter said.

The two officers said a team of officers from the North Precinct then broke into the radio conversation to ask if it was triangular in shape.

‘Up to that point we had said nothing about it being triangular in shape,’ Jeter said. ‘So we knew they had seen the same thing we did. They said they saw it over North Memphis about 11 p.m. [16 May 1977].

Jeter and Todd, members of the Memphis Police Department’s tactical squad, tried to get a better look at the object through a rifle scope.

‘As we put the scope on it for a closeup view it streaked out of sight so fast we couldn’t really get it into the scope,’ Jeter said.

Both officers said they heard no sound coming from the object and that it did not attempt to land.

James Wright, chief of the Federal Aviation Administration’s control tower at Memphis International Airport, said his controllers had numerous calls about the sighting.

‘But we couldn’t help them,’ Wright said. ‘We had no sighting from the tower and it didn’t show up on radar…We don’t know what it was.’ ”

My comment:
David B. Marler reports about this UFO case in his book, Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation.

Collierville, Tennessee, is located 37 kilometres (23 miles) to the south east of Memphis.
