June 21, 1950, Misawa AFB, Japan (BB)
At 3:05 p.m. local time (0605Z), Capt. Obermiller _ Fighter Bomber Wing on a golf course observed a circular-shaped object estimated to be 30 feet in diameter and 5 feet thick at 7000 feet altitude. Object appeared to be traveling at 650 MPH and parallel to an F-80 aircraft at 1000 feet above. Object rose vertically 1000 feet, seemed to change direction and rapidly disappeared at an estimated 975 MPH. The witness is a rated transport and fighter pilot.”

Misawa Air Base (三沢飛行場 Misawa Hikōjō) (IATA: MSJ, ICAO: RJSM) is an air base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and the United States Air Force located in Misawa, Aomori, in the northern part of the island of Honshū of Japan. It is located 3 NM (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) northeast of Misawa railway station,[1] 3 mi (4.8 km) west of the Pacific Ocean, 10 mi (16 km) northeast of Towada, 18 mi (29 km) northwest of Hachinohe, and 425 mi (684 km) north of Tokyo. It is a Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) facility with the 35th Fighter Wing (35 FW, about 48 F-16 aircraft split among the 13th and 14th Fighter Squadrons)[2] as its host wing. It hosts both Japanese and American troops. [3]”
