“Flying Saucers may be getting close to home for
Seminole countians. Sunday afternoon (11 January 1953) about 4 p.m., Rex Moore,
county oilman and his son Rex Jr., were looking up into the derrick of a well
they are drilling near Sasakwa, and ‘saw a silvery object hovering up there at
a very, very high altitude’ Moore reported Sunday evening.
Moore
said the silvery object, looking like a ‘a shiny dime,’ hovered in the same
spot for about 15 minutes, then sped away ‘at an almost unthinkable speed.’ Moore said one of the
crew working on the well ‘named Nix’ also saw the object.
Moore
said there were no vapor trails such as high-flying planes make, and he was confident
it was not a plane. ‘It was sure something up there, and it was not an
airplane’ Moore
said emphatically.”
Sasakwa,
Oklahoma, is located just to the south east of
Oklahoma City.
