19 November 1976

“Unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings in this tiny coastal village (West Penobscot, Maine) are not at all unusual, residents claimed Thursday. ‘It’s not unusual, we see them all the time,’ Mrs. Perkins 22-year-old son, Michael, related in a telephone interview Thursday.
‘My sister had one (UFO) hover over her car three years ago (1973) …’ ”

The UFO first appeared in the sky from the direction of Waldo Mountain in Frankfort, Maine. The incident occurred on
17 November 1976, at around 9:45 p.m., according to the article.
