“Belleville sightings labeled UFOs”

7 June 1987 (The Milwaukee Journal, Wisconsin)

The Milwaukee Journal reports on two 1987 Belleville (Wisconsin) UFO incidents:

Quote from the article:
“ ‘The Center for UFO Studies has officially classified the Belleville sightings as genuine UFO sightings,’ said Don Schmitt, co-director of the center.

The first sighting was when Police Officer Glenn Kazmar and other Belleville officers saw three flahing lights between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 15 and 3:00 a.m. Jan. 16. Belleville is on the Dane County-Green County line, south of Madison.

Another Belleville sighting was reported March 6, when Harvey Funseth and several other people saw several cigar-shaped objects about 5:30 p.m.

Funseth, a state highway surveyor, said he and Fred Gochnauer were coming home from work when they saw a large cigar-shaped object in the sky with three smaller objects trailing it.”
