The file originated with Headquarters RAAF Base Pearce. The base is situated in Bullsbrook, north of Perth, Western Australia.

On 13 June 1985, at around 5:15 a.m., Arthur John Barber encountered a UFO while driving south on the Old Coast Road (near Lake Clifton, Western Australia), according to the RAAF file. The bright orange UFO, which was estimated to be about 300-400 yards away, followed the car for several kilometres. Barber noticed the following physiological effects: Heat, upset stomach and smell.
