The Kentucky New Era reports on the 1954 UFO sighting of U.S. Air Force Colonel William T. Coleman:

Coleman, who was piloting an attack bomber (south of Montgomery, Alabama), chased the UFO for a while.
Later in his career he was the Public Information Officer for Project Blue Book for five years.
