UFO Case Report:
“Oct. 22, 1967; Milledgeville, GA”
(NICAP.org)
The whole UFO case report:
“Night. Two groups of policemen about a half-mile apart, while in radio
communication, saw a glowing orange-yellow, cylindrical object rise from near
the ground about one-quarter of a mile away from one of the groups. The object
ascended from a pecan grove between the two groups. One group of police saw the
object between them and a higher elevation tree-line about a mile away. The
object rose and sped out of sight. Its shape was compared to an old-fashioned
water-tower tank. (McDonald letter, 12/1/68, Donald E. Keyhoe Archives files.)”

“Dark Blue UFO Chases Police Officer
As Mystery Objects Dot Georgia Skies”

The whole article:
“Police reported a rash of unidentified flying object reports early
Sunday [22 October 1967], including
a dark blue ball that a police officer said chased him and then hovered over
this small central Georgia town [Newnan, Georgia] until daybreak.
The sightings were the latest in a series of UFO reports that began
early Friday [20 October 1967] in East Georgia and spread into central portions of the
state Sunday [22 October 1967].
Highway patrolman Jerry Goldin at the Mountaintop Manchester state
patrol station said he was the first to spot Sunday’s UFO’s, one ice blue and
about a mile high and the other one a yellow rectangle-shaped object with a red
side about 100 yards
above the trees.
Before the night was over, highway patrolmen and policemen from 11
different towns had seen similar objects. Reports came from such scattered
middle Georgia locations as
Milledgeville, Greenville , Newnan, Talbotton, Fayetteville and Taylor County .
Newnan patrolman Dale Spradlin said he chased a ball of light about
eight inches in diameter for about eight miles down a road just outside Newnan.
‘It was a good distance in front of us, pulling away, so we turned
around to come back to town,’ said Spradlin who was on patrol with officer
Gerald Mascon. The object was travelling above tree-top level.
‘The object turned on us and followed,’ he said. ‘It was gaining on us
and was going about 75
miles per hour.
After the object caught up with him, it pulled into the sky, emitting a
beam of bluish light that illuminated the roadway, the officer said.
A spokesman for Warner Robins Air Force [Base]
said he had heard the reports of the objects but that nothing was seen on the
base radar.
The
Weather Bureau at Athens
said it had released four weather balloons Saturday night and Sunday morning,
but a spokesman said it was unlikely they were the cause of the reports.”

UFO Case Report (E-mail):
“Subject: Photo of object below a/c;
Richmond, IN, May 24, 1954”
By Michael D. Swords, 22 July 2009
(NICAP.org)
The whole UFO case report:
“Mike Swords:
The date is May 24, 1954 and the location is [over] Richmond [IN]. The primary witness is a Major
L. N. Brubaker, who was flying a B-17 [not a RB-whatever as usually listed--and
the case isn’t ‘Dayton’ as often listed], which was specially fitted out for
aerial survey---at least this is what a combo of the extensive Blue Book
records say, plus McDonald’s files. Brubaker et al see an intense large ‘light’
fly under their plane at twice their speed. Because he’s out to take pictures,
he doesn’t freeze and shoots some film. Wright-Pat has some trouble with this
one and allegedly gets a whole team of scientists [unnamed] on this and
explains it away as a very rare case of ice-crystal reflection a la sundogs.
Ruppelt reports the case somewhat inaccurately [it was after he’d left] and
confusion reigns. McDonald gets the scent and here’s what he says in a letter
to his Navy Research buddy, Jim Hughes: ‘Concurrently I have been searching for
and finally found the Air Force officer who took the photo aboard the B-17 in May 1954. He is a
retired Lt. Colonel now working in the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington . He had his
own set of prints; he loaned them to me; and sent three pages of transcribed
notes on the incident. I regret to say that between the analysis of the
sun-angles and the rather clear-cut description of the high angular velocity of
the luminous entity as it sped into the B-17, I cannot agree with the Air Force
explanation in terms of the sundog that has been on the record for 14 years.
The print that we are trying to get from Project Blue Book is one that shows
the duty card to double-check the time. However, Lt. Colonel Brubaker, who took
the photo, sent me a verbatim transcript of his notes and it checks the
information I already have. That time will not support the sundog hypothesis,
it turns out. Thus we may have in this photo one that is above reproach with
respect to credentials and yet has no obvious explanation in the area of
meteorological optics.’ Thus Mac feels that he has a winner here, and I’ll
trust him on this. Plus, this cleans up a lot of inaccuracy about this one and
[with the extensive BB record] creates an unusual photo that we might not have
to be ashamed of.”

11 p.m. (Shough)
Dan Wilson:
February 4, 1954; Carswell AFB, Ft.
Worth , Texas
At 11:00 p.m. local time, an object was detected by the Carswell AFB
Ground Control Approach (GCA) radar, an AN/CPN-4 radar, at a distance of 13 to 15 miles to the SW and was
heading directly toward the base. Carswell Weather reported in and said they
had the object sighted on radar at approx. same time and location. The object
remained on a straight course and the GCA operator notified the Control Tower.
Control Tower personnel sighted the object as it moved directly over the
Control Tower at an estimated speed of 240 - 250 mph . The object was
observed for approximately 6 minutes with standard binoculars during entire
observation. The object was at an altitude of approximately 4,000 feet confirmed by
GCA, according to the Control Tower operator.
The object was described as larger than a B-36, having a long fuselage,
elliptical wings and stabilizer, gray in color, and no visible means of
propulsion or exhaust. Nor did the object leave any trail and no sound was
heard. The object passed out of sight to the NW. At 11:29 p.m., two targets
were picked up on the Carswell GCA radar at 17 miles SW of Carswell.
The targets were flying formation at an estimated 5,000 feet altitude at a
speed of 200 mph .
These two targets merged into one target and when 12 miles from Carswell
they separated again and assumed a southerly heading. At approximately 14 miles from the base the
target to the rear suddenly reversed its course, flew for two miles, then
reversed course again and gradually overtook the lead target. Both targets
departed [the] area flying in
formation to the SSE. The INVESTIGATION OF UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS report
states that the reversal of course was for about two miles or 3.3 seconds. (Dan Wilson)”

Wikipedia article: “Carswell Air Force Base”:
Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“Carswell Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force (USAF)
base, located northwest of Fort Worth ,
Texas . For most of its
operational lifetime, the base’s mission was to train and support heavy
strategic bombing groups and wings.
Carswell was a major Strategic Air Command (SAC) base during the Cold
War. It was the headquarters of several SAC intercontinental bombardment wings,
equipped with the latest heavy bombers from B-29 Superfortresses; B-36
Peacemakers and B-52 Stratofortresses. The west side of the airfield was home
to Air Force Plant 4, a
602-acre (2.44 km2) industrial complex occupied over the decades by Convair,
General Dynamics, and now by Lockheed Martin. The bulk of the Air Force Convair
B-36, B-58 Hustler, F-111 Aardvark, EF-111 Raven and F-16 Fighting Falcon
fleets were built there.
With the end of the Cold War, and the subsequent downsizing of the
American military, the 1991 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission
recommended that Carswell AFB be closed by 1994. Today, the facility is known
as Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base. It retains an Air
Force Reserve presence as well as a Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Air
National Guard flying units where were formerly located at Naval Air Station
Dallas.”

The whole article:
“Brookley Air Force base reported Thursday
that an ‘unidentified flying object, brilliant and silver colored’ was tracked
by radar over Mobile
and the Alabama-Mississippi gulf coast Wednesday night [30 June
1954].
Major James Zicherali, public information officer at Brookley, said the
object ‘appeared to be a jet-type aircraft of new design with short stubby
wings.’
Five other residents of Alabama and Mississippi also
reported sighting the object.
Zicherali said the object appeared on the base control tower radar
screen at 6:50 p.m. CST. He said radar operators reported it ‘made no sound and
left no trail.’ ”
Wikipedia article: “Brookley Air Force Base”:
Quote from the Wikipedia article:
“Brookley Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force base
located in Mobile , Alabama . After it closed in 1969, it became
what is now known as the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.
Postwar use
Following World War II and the creation of an independent United States
Air Force, the installation became Brookley Air Force Base. In 1947 with
the closure of Morrison Field ,
Florida , the C-74 Globemaster
project was moved to Brookley. The C-74 was, at the time, the largest military
transport aircraft in the world. It was developed by Douglas Aircraft after the
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor . The long
distances across the Atlantic, and especially the Pacific
Ocean to the combat areas indicated a need for a transoceanic
heavy-lift military transport aircraft.
The ‘C-74 squadron’ (later 521st Air Transport Group, 1701st Air
Transport Wing), Air Transport Command operated two squadrons of C-74
Globemasters from Brookley from 1947 until their retirement in 1955. The eleven
aircraft were used extensively for worldwide transport of personnel and
equipment, supporting United
States military missions.”
