UFO News Article:
“U.F.O’s. sighted at Victor”

23 May 1974
(Victor Harbour Times, Australia)

The whole article:
“Two unidentified flying objects were sighted by a family, two visiting friends and a police officer near Victor Harbour last Monday night (20 May 1974).

Mr. Neville Dunn, of Maud Street, Encounter Bay, said yesterday that at 8.30 p.m. Monday he and his family and two friends from Bordertown saw two strange flashing white lights appear from the north-east at about 45 degrees.

After rising to a higher altitude one of the objects apparently disappeared into cloud. Mr. Dunn then drove to the nearby home of First Class Constable Max Griffiths in Philip Avenue and from there Mr. Dunn, Const. Griffiths and Mrs. Griffiths saw two separate flashing lights travelling from east to west in the direction of the Amscol factory just out from Victor Harbour.

Mr. Dunn said the first two lights sighted by his family and friends seemed to come from the direction of Amscol about a quarter of a mile apart.

After leaving Const. Griffiths, Mr. Dunn drove to Porter’s Hill but did not again see the flashing lights which had been visible altogether for about 20 minutes.

Did any other readers see flashing lights in the sky Monday night?

It has since been verified that an aircraft was in the vicinity of Victor Harbour about 8 p.m. Monday night. The pilot was having radio trouble and he was directed to land at Murray Bridge.”

“NORAD And The UFO Smokescreen – Part 7”

By Paul Dean, 23 April 2016
(UFOs – Documenting The Evidence, Melbourne, Australia)

Quote from the article:
“In Part 6 of ‘NORAD and the UFO Smokescreen,’ I introduced the possibility that the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD), as well as other commands and their space components, had ever detected and tracked what we would ultimately called UFO’s outside Earth’s atmosphere. By UFO’s, I, of course, mean unknown and unidentifiable bodies above-and-beyond manmade payloads or debris, and natural, meteoritic material. I established that NORAD is not in direct command and control of space surveillance systems, but relies on incoming data from the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) and the component commands who run the vast Space Surveillance Network (SSN) – over thirty electro-optical and radar sensors distributed the world over. I also established that, if UFO’s do in fact exist, that NORAD and the SSN could, even in the 1950’s and 1960’s, have spotted serious UFO’s events – within technical limitations – and that such events would have been classified. Beyond those facts, much of what we know, at least up until the mid-1970’s, is inconclusive, and sometimes just rumor. However, this very large and complicated jigsaw puzzle was becoming clearer.”

“James E McDonald – digital recordings collection”

By Keith Basterfield, 19 March 2016
(UFOs – scientific research, Campbelltown,
New South Wales, Australia)

Quote from the article:
McDonald archive

US researcher, Ann Druffel worked with McDonald’s wife and others, to ensure that his UAP archive was made available for future generations of researchers.

As part of the archiving process, Ralph McCarron, spent a number of years transferring the original reel to reel sound recordings to digital media.

Australian material

McDonald visited Australia in 1967, and during his time here, he interviewed a number of individuals about their sightings. A number of these Australian interviews are to be found in the University of Arizona’s special McDonald audio recordings archive. The following list of such recordings is taken from Ralph McCarron’s index of all McDonald’s audio recordings.”

“New book alert – ‘UFOs Over Poland’ –
Piotr Cielebias”

By Keith Basterfield, 30 March 2016
(UFOs – scientific research, Campbelltown,
New South Wales, Australia)

Quote from the article:
Cielebias holds an MA in history, a BA in Political Sciences, and is a writer and journalist.

Official responses include:

* ‘According to many military informants, the Polish Air Force of People’s Polish Army issued a special protocol for potential UFO observers in uniform.’ (p.61.)

* ‘Official Polish government/military UFO files remains a controversial topic. If these ever existed they were surely not related to any specific project on unidentified aerial phenomena.’ (p.61.)

* ‘There is no doubt that the Polish Army has kept its eye on ufologists in the past and is still doing so even today.’ (p.63.)

“The ‘Bolender Memo’ And A New Lease On Life”

By Paul Dean, 21 April 2016
(UFOs – Documenting The Evidence, Melbourne, Australia)

Quote from the article:
“On 2nd, December 1978, researcher Robert Todd submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the United States Air Force (USAF) for any unreleased records created during the closure of Project Blue Book. A response came back from the USAF’s 1947th Administrative Support Group (1947ASG), dated 19th December, 1978, with a number of documents attached. One of them was a three-page ‘Department of the Air Force Air Staff Summary Sheet’ dated 20th December, 1969, prepared by a Maj. Espey and signed by Brigadier General Carroll H. Bolender, who was Deputy Director of Development, for the Deputy Chief of Staff, Research and Development, USAF. That ‘Air Staff Summary Sheet’ became widely known as the ‘Bolender Memo.’ The cover letter – and this is the first time this has ever been published – from the USAF to Todd stated:

‘Dear Mr. Todd,

Attached in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of 2 December, 1978, are copies of all records from Secretary of the Air Force files of or relating to the decision to terminate Project Blue Book, as well as all other UFO-related records located during the search.’ ”

“NORAD And The UFO Smokescreen – Part 6”

By Paul Dean, 18 March 2016
(UFOs – Documenting The Evidence, Melbourne, Australia)

Quote from the article:
“Previously, in Part 5 of this ambitious series, ‘NORAD and the UFO Smokescreen,’ I discussed North American Aerospace Defence Command’s (NORAD) role in the identification, tracking and categorisation of aerospace activities across North America, and their sophisticated maintenance of ‘air sovereignty’ through well-developed national defence doctrine. Within that complex framework, I demonstrated that UFO’s can be ‘allowed for,’ and, have indeed plagued NORAD in the past. Their own records prove that. Of course, by ‘UFO’ I mean unidentifiable objects or other unusual, solid phenomena; completely distinct from just strayed aircraft or other manmade activities. For readers who are new to this series, my entire Parts 1 through to Part 5 can be found here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5.

NORADs Space Surveillance Mission

NORAD’s surveillance mission extends into space. In this, Part 6, and an upcoming Part 7, I am investigating their monitoring of space objects – manmade, natural, or possibly otherwise; with the ‘otherwise’ category being UFO’s.”

U.S. Government UFO Document:
“PROJECT 10073 RECORD CARD:
DATE: 3 Apr 52/
LOCATION: Benson, Arizona”

(Project Blue Book, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.)

Source: Fold3.com, Lindon, Utah

Quote from the document (Page 2):
“II. STATUS OF THE INVESTIGATION

The excellent forethought of the instructor to take continual fixes on the object has eliminated the possibility of the object being an aircraft or balloon since no motion was observed. In addition, an investigation was made and it was determined that there were no balloons in the area.

It is possible that the object was a bright planet. This is doubtful, however, since a planet would appear to move some in 51 minutes.

III. CONCLUSIONS

Pending.”

The UFO incident was witnessed by four U.S. Air Force civilian pilots, according to the document.

The document contains a U.P. newspaper article (Page 4) titled “Air Force Men Sight Huge Flying Saucer.”

Quote from the 4 April 1952 United Press article:
“Two Air Force pilots said today they watched for an hour as a huge oval-shaped object, possibly five or six times the size of a B-29 bomber, hovered at about 55,000 feet above them.

Chick Logan and C. M. Jasper, both veteran flight commanders from Marana (Ariz.) Air Force Base, saw the object from the air.

Flight Instructor Paul Wilkerson, Tucson, and Skeet Taylor, owner of a local airport, said they saw it from the ground.

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base at Tucson said some B-36s were flying in the Benson area at an attitude of 40,000 feet.

Logan said, however, it did not have wings.

“The object was bright and shone like polished aluminium.”

Wilkerson said it was too large for a weather balloon.”

UFO DNA UFO case report:
8 August 1977 23:00
29 Palms, California , USA

Source: NUFORC.org

The whole UFO case report:
“I was in the Marines and stationed at Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, CA in the Summer of 1977. I and some friends were at a Drive-In movie located in the town of 29 Palms outside the base. It was pretty late at night. The movie screen was located about 5 feet away on the other side of 5' high wooden fence that surrounded the parking area. I just happened to look off to the upper right hand side of the screen and noticed that something was hovering, with multi-colored blinking lights, above a darkened building, about a mile away on the outskirts of town. (29 Palms, CA) I thought to myself, ‘What the heck is a helicopter doing hovering over a building out in town?’ I was used to seeing all kinds of helicopters on the base.

I then noticed that it continued to hover, there was no sound or sand being kicked up. It appeared to be a ball of multi-colored blinking lights. I couldn’t discern a shape. I absent mindedly started walking towards the fence to get a better look. I then noticed that many other people in the Drive-In saw it too and got out of their cars. The UFO then started to rise straight up, silently. It did not flair out at an angle like a helicopter would. It kept going up until it appeared to be the size and color of a star. It then started zig-zagging across the sky while still going up, until it finally disappeared.

I found out later that at the same time, people located on the other side (to the left of the screen) of the drive-in area, saw two UFOs hovering over a mountain, located to the left of the screen. They reported that the 2 UFOs they saw, also rose straight up, silently, and zig-zagged while going up until they were out of site. I thought to myself, ‘I have to call the Base and tell someone!’ But I didn’t have any idea as to who to call. We all talked about it the next day. I called a friend, who now lives in N. Carolina, after 25 years and he still remembered the incident.

((NUFORC Note: Date of incident may be approximate, although the witness does not indicate that fact. PD))”
