Informative Interview with Nick Pope on Fox News.com,2 June 2009

Nick Pope used to run the UK government's UFO Project at the Ministry of Defence. He was posted to a division called Secretariat (Air Staff). He worked at that job from 1991 to 1994.

His job was to research and investigate the UFO phenomenon. This division received UFO reports both from U.K. government officials (mostly from Royal Air Force personnel) and civilians.

NASA TV UFOs:
“Space Mysteries: NASA's Secret UFO Footage?”
(Video headline by ITN)

As mentioned before, more and more TV channels/corporations are now presenting objective UFO reports.

This TV report by the UK TV channel, ITN is a prime example of objective reporting.

Video comment by ITN: “NASA's cameras have captured thousands of hours of footage in Space. Can every UFO be explained away as 'Space debris'?”:

NASA TV UFOs: UFO Filmed near
the International Space Station (ISS),
12 June 2009

Once again, NASA TV presents official footage of a
self-luminous, unknown object, which manoeuvres
near the ISS. The UFO was filmed from the ISS:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTxt9dseg-M

The NASA spokesperson tells us in the video that
the unknown object is either ‘Space debris’ (a flake of
paint) or an ‘object’. The correct answer is therefore,
‘object’, because no self-luminous Space debris exists.

UFO TV News Report:
UFO Video Made by Colombian
Governmental Astronomer Sent to NASA

Astronomer Alberto Quijano, director of the Astronomical Observatory at the University of Narino, recounts in the TV news report that it was a member of his team that managed to photograph a UFO. The astronomers produced an hour-long video from the 400 sequential photographs, Quijano says.

The university is a public, coeducational research university situated in Pasto, Colombia; and it’s tied to the Ministry of National Education, even though the university is an independent institution of higher education (source: Wikipedia).

In the TV news report, the astronomer, referring to the unknown object, says he has never before seen a Space object manoeuvre in such a way. Furthermore, he says that the unknown object doesn’t move like any asteroid, comet, satellite or any other cosmic body we know of.

Alberto Quijano also reveals that the university will forward the UFO video to NASA’s experts (!!) in an effort to discern its origin. And at the end of the TV news report one can see that Quijano is tied to NASA, since he wears a NASA pin on his lapel.

Noticias Caracol (Colombia) TV news report:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IZD_RfFFHY

The above video was added to YouTube on 26 June 2007, but I haven’t seen a follow-up TV report or news article regarding this case.

This case could turn out to be even more interesting if some UFO organisation or researcher contacted both Alberto Quijano and NASA to learn what their findings were. NASA can’t say it knows nothing about this bona fide Colombian Government UFO video!

And apropos of astronomer; what’s the one single argument every UFO debunker uses every time (in every debate) (it never fails)? The debunker says, “Not a single astronomer has ever seen a UFO!”

So any UFO researcher debating a debunker (no, don't call them sceptics, because a sceptic looks at the evidence) should present the above video during a debate (every time).

And then there are those other astronomers.

The date and time of the sighting (photographs) is unknown, but it’s likely that the sighting occurred a few days before 26 June 2007 (the Caracol Radio news report regarding this case was broadcasted on 27 June).

The Uruguayan Air Force (FAU) Declassifies Its UFO Files

More and more governments are now releasing their UFO files. The Uruguayan Air Force’s UFO files should make interesting reading, since most of the UFO information from South America through the years has come from the excellent UFO organisations and researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Ecuador.

Google Earth UFO:
UFO Photographed West of Area 51, Nevada, 18 April 2006

The Google Earth UFO was photographed 59 kilometres (37 miles) west of Area 51. This area also seems to be a U.S. Military test area, which likely is connected with the operations at Area 51. The UFO is circular shaped and one can clearly see the shadow of the unknown object. The UFO seems to be very large. And the Google Earth ruler shows the object's correct size, since the object is positioned very close to the ground (based on the position of the shadow).

You'll find the unknown object at these coordinates:
37°18'20.00"N 116°28'21.00"W

hotwheelz, the UFO photo source, suggests that the UFO which can be found at the above coordinates perhaps may be a U.S. Military ‘UFO’ performing a test flight. I find this extremely unlikely, since several U.S. government agencies work closely with Google Earth on this virtual globe project. The U.S. government knows when and where the satellites take the photographs. And no government would reveal a new revolutionary aircraft to the whole world during a test flight:

http://www.googleearthcoolplaces.com/related.php?place=test_flight_ufo

The UFO looks almost identical to the Google Earth UFO (photographed on 2 December 2006) I reported about on 2 April 2009. The distance between the 2 photographed UFOs is 39 kilometres (24 miles).

You'll find the Area 51 (Nevada atomic bomb test site) UFO at these coordinates: 37°11'55.70"N 116°3'20.00"W

In this very interesting newspaper article (The Baytown Sun (Texas), 3 June 2009) regarding the UFO sighting by a Continental Express airline pilot at Bush Intercontinental Airport, we learn that the FBI investigates cases where UFOs are sighted near airplanes:

http://baytownsun.com/story.lasso?ewcd=6482fb23a4f5a8d1

The comment by FBI Special Agent Shauna Dunlap is remarkable. According to her – the FBI and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigate many reports of UFOs sighted near airplanes each year.

In effect that would mean that there are many UFO sightings that have been reported by airplane pilots (and likely reports by airport personnel), which the U.S. public hasn’t heard about.

Special Agent Dunlap says that almost all reported aviation UFO sighting cases turn out to be not of a criminal nature.

In this article we also learn that the unknown object flew under the airplane and disappeared.

'Popular Mechanics' has Found
the Truth Behind NASA's "UFO" Videos!

'Popular Mechanics' has found the truth about UFOs.

They aren’t UFOs. They are “UFOs”.

'Popular Mechanics' article by Erik Sofge:
“Footage in the Sky: The Truth Behind NASA's "UFO" Videos”:

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4319637.html

And be sure to read the above article’s reader comments.

Why didn't 'Popular Mechanics' include the below NASA TV video link (posted on this blog earlier) in their article? This video footage shows several UFOs which are suddenly slowing down and changing their flight directions near the Russian Mir Space Station:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfD-X23ue3Y

The 'Popular Mechanics' writer didn't include the above video in the article, because he wouldn't have been able to explain away the unknown objects and least of all their movements!

How can 'Popular Mechanics' know the truth about the NASA TV UFOs when (to my knowledge) no one else does?

This blog is reporting only on UFO footage or evidence recorded or obtained by any media or government source. All I know is that something is going on.

Just read some of the U.S. government FOIA UFO documents which are found in The Black Vault. And then we have the other evidences, that have been collected by civilian UFO organisations and researchers, which clearly show that unknown objects fly in (and above) the Earth’s atmosphere.

Would the U.S. government (and other governments) spend so much money, human resources and precious time investigating something that didn’t exist?

Of course not!

UFO Lecture:
X-Conference 2004:
Terry Hansen: News Media Complicity

and the Truth Embargo

Terry Hansen is the leading UFOs and the mainstream media researcher in the U.S. Here he presents a well-researched and very convincing lecture pertaining to the collaboration between the so-called Big Media (MSM) corporations and the U.S. military and intelligence communities. Hansen also lays out other very interesting evidences regarding the U.S. military and intelligence communities’ involvement with the UFO phenomenon. The introduction is presented by the X-Conference organiser Stephen Bassett, Paradigm Research Group (PRG) Executive Director:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qAYxmFsxOM

Hansen presents two pieces of evidence, which proves that CBS collaborated with the CIA in the production of the documentary, ‘CBS Reports: UFO: Friend, Foe Or Fantasy?’

29:51 minutes into the video we are presented with a quote made by Sig Mickelson, the first Director of CBS TV News, who once said, “I didn’t raise an eyebrow about cooperating (with the CIA) back then (the 1950s to 1970s).” So since the Director of CBS TV News admitted that CBS collaborated with the CIA, he of course told the truth! And ‘CBS Reports: UFO: Friend, Foe Or Fantasy?’ was produced in 1966.

48 minutes into the video, Hansen presents the actual hand written letter (mentioned in my previous article), which Dr. Thornton Page sent to Fred Durant regarding the CIA’s role in the production of the aforementioned documentary.

Comment by the video source:
“NEWS MEDIA COMPLICITY AND THE TRUTH EMBARGO, with Terry Hansen. A mesmerizing account of his investigation into whether some of America's most influential news organizations, many having maintained close ties to the U.S. intelligence community, have willingly suppressed full and accurate news coverage of extraterrestrial related phenomena for a variety of "national-security" reasons. Hansen reveals the remarkable and persistent difference in UFO-related news coverage exhibited by local and national news organizations and reviews the history of censorship and propaganda during the twentieth century and the evidence for media-government collusion over the course of the half-century-long UFO controversy.

Terry Hansen is an independent journalist with an interest in scientific controversies and the politics of mass media. He is the author of the book, “The Missing Times: News Media Complicity in the UFO Cover-up”. He has organized and moderated two symposiums about the science and politics of UFO research for the Science Museum of Minnesota. Hansen holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in science journalism, both from the University of Minnesota. He was a founding partner of KFH Publications, Inc., a Seattle computer-magazine publishing company. This presentation covers some of the more recent and important stories that have been suppressed by the media cartels and powers-that-be.”

“CBS REPORTS: UFO FRIEND, FOE OR FANTASY
WITH WALTER CRONKITE”

Source: theufochronicles.com, 18 July 2009

The Black Vault article: “Robertson Panel”:

http://www.theblackvault.com/wiki/index.php/Robertson_Panel

The Black Vault article: “Robertson Panel (part):
The Robertson Panel was a committee commissioned by the Central Intelligence Agency in 1952 in responses to widespread Unidentified Flying Object reports, especially in the Washington, D.C. area.

The Robertson Panel first met formally on January 14, 1953 under the direction of Howard Percy Robertson. He was a physicist, a CIA employee and director of the Defense Department Weapons Evaluation Group.

Other panel members were respected scientists and military personnel who had worked on other classified military projects or studies. All were then skeptical of UFO reports, though to varying degrees: Thornton Page, astrophysicist, deputy director of Johns Hopkins' Operations Research Office (was one of seven committee members).

The committee suggested the Air Force should begin a "debunking" effort to reduce "public gullibility" and demystify UFO reports. The panel suggested a public relations campaign, using psychiatrists, astronomers and assorted celebrities to significantly reduce public interest in UFO's. It was also recommended that the mass media be used for the debunking, including influential media giants like Walt Disney Corporation.

Many ufologists argue that the Robertson Panel recommendations were put into effect and the resulting official debunkery relegated the subject matter permanently to the fringe, both in the mainstream media and scientific communities. Also after the Robertson Panel, Project Blue Book was reduced in status and stripped of most of duties of investigating serious UFO cases, which were instead secretly turned over to a newly-formed division of the Air Defense Command. Directives were also issued not to discuss the unexplainable cases with the public and to reduce the percentage of unknowns to a minimum.

Though the CIA's official history suggests that the Robertson Panel's conclusions were never carried out, there is evidence that contradicts this. Perhaps the most unambiguous evidence for the Robertson Panel's covert impact on news media reporting about UFOs is a personal letter by Dr. Thornton Page, discovered in the Smithsonian archives by sociologist Michael D. Swords. The 1966 letter, addressed to former Robertson Panel Secretary Frederick C. Durant, confides that Page "helped organize the CBS TV show around the Robertson Panel conclusions." Page was no doubt referring to the CBS Reports TV broadcast of the same year, "UFOs: Friend, Foe or Fantasy?" narrated by Walter Cronkite. (Incidentally, this program was criticized for inaccurate and misleading presentations). Page's letter indicates that the Robertson Panel was still putting a negative spin on UFO news at least 13 years after the panel met.”

My comment:
In the above article we find clear evidence for the fact that Dr. Thornton Page helped organize the CBS UFO documentary, which was narrated by Walter Cronkite.

The CBS UFO TV news report regarding the 1973 U.S. UFO wave, which I posted an article about on 31 May 2009, makes a whole lot more sense after knowing that the CBS legend Walter Cronkite and CIA committee member Dr. Thornton Page collaborated on a UFO debunking documentary in 1966.

And what’s the picture today? Who knows?! One thing is for certain – I’ve never ever seen a U.S. TV news channel present a self obtained declassified U.S. government FOIA UFO document. Furthermore, I haven’t seen a single TV news channel in Europe present a ditto UFO document either. Why don’t TV news channels want to present previously top secret UFO facts, which have been collected by their own government?

Civilian UFO researchers, both in the U.S. and Europe, have after all unearthed thousands of previously classified government UFO documents during the last three decades.

UFO TV News Report: Strange Object Seen near Continental Express Airplane during Take Off,
Houston, Texas, 29 May 2009, 8:20 p.m.

The airplane had just taken off from Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston when the captain sighted the unknown object. He reported seeing the object about 50 meters (150 feet) away. Furthermore, the pilot said that the object was larger than a bottle rocket and was so large that he had to call it in. Two Hardin High School students who reported seeing the object come close to the airplane were interviewed by sheriff’s officials on Saturday, 30 May.

Federal investigators are now trying to determine what the unknown object was:

UFO TV News Report:
The John Gilligan (Ohio Governor) UFO Sighting,
October 1973 & the 1973 Eastern U.S. UFO Sighting Wave,
17 October 1973 (CBS News, New York City)

CBS News reports on the UFO sighting by Ohio Governor John Gilligan and the United States UFO sighting wave that took place in the eastern states during the second half of 1973:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTKCPwEmi-4

The report also showed an interview with Mississippi Highway Patrolman David Tomasovsky of the Gulfport Police Department regarding his own UFO sighting. Tomasovsky’s account of the UFO sighting was corroborated by fellow Patrolman Sergeant David Waller, who also saw the UFO.

But what did the last part of the report (Walter Cronkite's funny story) have to do with the UFO sightings? The answer:
One Governor and two Police officers.

It’s as if they (CBS News) said, “Yes, if you're a U.S. politician or government official we’ll tell your UFO story, but be aware that at the end of the report we’ll present a story, which will make fun of the whole (UFO) subject (and in effect, you)." And anyone who’s seen a few UFO TV news reports has seen the banter presented by the TV reporters at the end of a UFO story. It’s hilarious to watch! And who learned that in journalism school? The good thing is that in the last few years we have seen more and more UFO TV news reports being presented by professional TV reporters, who present only the facts.

Back to this CBS News UFO report. Shouldn’t their policy have been: Let’s do everything in our power so that more U.S. politicians and/or government officials (credible UFO witnesses) come forward with their UFO stories. The big question is, why did they do the opposite in this UFO report?
