NICAP.org UFO case directory (Physical Trace Case):
“Delphos, Kansas
November 2, 1971”

The whole UFO case report:
“Animal Reaction Feature:
Snowball was a farm dog, an outdoors living dog who assisted in rounding up and herding sheep.  Sheep were also involved in this incident, and the event took place during the time their lambs were being born.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
It was after dark on a clear night when Ron Johnson heard the rumbling noise and stepped out to see a brilliant object near the ground. There was a mass of unchanging colors over the object—blue, red, and orange.  The actual surface could not be seen, and the shape was difficult to discern, but the top had a flat-dome shape and it had a flat bottom. At one point Ron compared it to ‘ toad stool.’  Ron estimated it to be 8 feet in diameter. A bright glow with a shimmering appearance extended from the base to the ground. The glow from the object illuminated nearby trees and the ground.

Physical traces were found on the ground where the object hovered. Touching the traces caused numbness. No EM effects were reported.

UFO News Articles:
Focus On the April-June 1978 St. Charles County/
Lincoln County, Missouri, UFO Incidents and Cattle Mutilations

Sources: U.F.O. Newsclipping Service, Plumerville, Arkansas and AFU.se

Many of the UFO incidents and cattle mutilations occurred in the Elsberry area.

“Links UFO Sightings To Cattle Mutilations”

20 June 1978
(St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Missouri)

Quote from the article (Page 18):
“Recent incidents of cattle mutilation and reported sightings of UFOs have left Elsberry residents mystified and a little jittery.

Sam Mayes and Henry Hagemeier, two Elsberry farmers, found cattle mutilated in fields on their farms Saturday. The incident is the fourth in the area within the last two months.

Police Chief John Livengood said he believes the mutilation is related to a reported UFO sighting in the area last weekend.

Water Superintendent Manford Hammond said he spotted a large bright object ‘shaped like two saucers placed upside down on each other’ hovering above a wooded area southeast of town about 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

‘It was like something right out of a Buck Rogers comic strip,’ Hammond said. ‘It wasn’t an airplane, and it wasn’t a balloon; it wasn’t like anything I’d ever seen.’

Hammond reported the incident to police, and by Monday afternoon, Livengood  said, about a half dozen other residents had reported similar sightings.

‘I think the mutilations and the sightings are too much of a coincidence not to be related,’ Livengood said.

One farmer, who found a mutilated heifer June 8, reported seeing lights in the sky near his property June 10, 11 and 12, Livengood said.

Livengood said he had contacted UFO researchers in Chicago and St. Louis to act as consultants in the police investigation of both incidents. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department also is conducting an investigation.

Livengood said similar incidents involving mutilation and UFO sightings occurred three years ago in Foley, Mo., about six miles south of Elsberry.

Livengood said he saw a UFO at that time.

Mrs. Hagemeier said there were no tracks in or out of the field where the slain cattle were found. She said a grassy area surrounding the carcasses ‘had been beaten down in a perfect circle.’

No cause of death had been determined for the mutilated carcasses, which were all found within a four- to six-mile radius of each other, spokesmen said.”

“Cattle mutilations, flying lights puzzle Missouri town”

21 June 1978
(St. Louis Globe-Democrat, Missouri)

Quote from the article (Page 19):
“The mysterious mutilations of five head of cattle on four farms since April 26 and reports of strange lights have residents of this farming town (Elsberry, Missouri) about 50 miles northwest of St. Louis perplexed and frightened.

FARMERS AND LOCAL authorities aren’t certain about the first two possibilities but not all believe the ‘clean, surgical-type cuts’ found on all of the animals was the work of scavengers.

No blood was found and no tracks, either human or animal, were evident. Farmers interviewed said they have never seen anything like it.

ONE CURIOSITY THAT is baffling authorities are tree limbs taken from the site where the cow and calf were found. The limbs are covered with hundreds of dead flies stuck or frozen in some manner to the branches.

Since the first mutilated cow was found April 26 on the farm of John Mayes, about one mile west of Elsberry, some residents of the town claim they have seen strange orange balls of light and other moving lights in the sky which alternate in color from blinking red to green to orange.

Forrest Gladney, a cattle farmer living 12 miles southwest of Elsberry, found a 200-pound calf mutilated in a pasture about one-eight of a mile behind his farmhouse June 8.

AGAIN THERE WERE no signs of blood, and buzzards and other scavengers didn’t come near the carcass and the body ‘was still limber,’ the farmer noted.

Gladney, his wife Hazel, and 4-year-old daughter Judy witnessed the appearance of strange lights about 9 p.m. Friday night ‘that were not helicopters or airplanes,’ the farmer said.

‘The wife and girl saw them first. A big orange light came from the north and went around to the south. Then there were two other blinking lights that changed in color from red to green and orange. They sat still for a while and then circled around before they sped off faster then a jet. There was no sound,’ Gladney said.”

“Police Draw No Conclusions In Cattle Mutilation Inquiry”

24 June 1978
(St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Missouri)

Quote from the article (Page 17):
“St. Charles County sheriff’s deputies say they will keep an open mind in investigating what is reported to be the fifth incident of cattle mutilation in the western part of the county in two months.

Elsberry police and some residents have linked the mutilations with reported UFO sightings in the area.

He (Sheriff’s Deputy Ray Runyon) said he could find no evidence that vultures or other animals had been feeding on the carcass.”

“Elsberry residents looking to the skies for answer to cattle mutilation mystery”

24-25 June 1978
(St. Louis Globe-Democrat, Missouri)

Quote from the article (Page 20):
“Miss (Ruth Ann) Lilley (Elsberrry resident) said her German shepherd, ‘Sergeant,’ has been acting strangely for the last two months, barking in the middle of the night ‘for no reason.’

‘I can’t get him to shut up, and he’s not a barking dog,’ she said.

RAY BURCHETTE said, ‘I’ve been around here since 1935 and I’ve never heard of anything like it. Some of the people are scared.’

Elsberry Police Chief John Livengood said he has received nearly a dozen reports of UFO sightings since last Sunday night.

The most recent was Tuesday night, when Margaret Watts, the editor of the Elsberry Democrat, said she and four other persons spotted ‘an orange light about the size of a volleyball’ hovering west of town about 10:30 p.m.

FOR THE LAST 70 or 80 years there have been reports of cattle mutilations throughout the country, but in recent years the reports have increased.”

UFO News Article:
“Lights: UFO reports, media swamp Dodge sheriff”,
2 February 1993 (Milwaukee Sentinel, Wisconsin)

Dodge County, Wisconsin sheriff’s deputies chased a UFO
near Hustisford on 31 January 1993, at around 8:15 p.m.,
the Milwaukee Sentinel informs:

http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=A2sWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=2RIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=6717,293753

It was a farmer near Hustisford who first reported the UFO sighting.

Quote from the article:
“The farmer told deputies the light was connected to a large, flat object that was domed at the center. The bright light was shining from the domed section, and a dimmer yellowish light came from the ends, Fitzgerald (Sheriff Stephen G. Fitzgerald) said.

Ray Stubinski, a town of Oconomowoc farmer who lives less than a mile south of Dodge County, reported another UFO to town officials last Tuesday.”

“Farmer sees UFO 1968 Ohio”
(not the article’s headline)

7 May 1968
(Prince George Citizen, Canada)

Source: ufonewspaper.blogspot.com

The whole article:
“A herd of cows in the south Ohio (South Ohio, Nova Scotia, Canada) farming area near Yarmouth led to one of the strangest sightings.

Chasing several strays that had wandered away, a farmer and his neighbor were suddenly confronted with a bright, stationary object about 1,000 feet from the ground. They later described the glow ‘like a flood-light’ coming straight down from the strange craft. The two men watched as the object moved away and the light disappeared.”

UFO DNA UFO case report:
“13 July 1969 23:00
Van Horne, Iowa, USA
(the UFO incident occurred on 13 July,
not on 12 July, according to NICAP.org)

13 Jul 1969 -
Van Horne, Iowa, USA

Two teenage girls see a dull gray-black metallic colored inverted bowl-shaped object with a circular reddish-orange band of light about two-thirds of the way down it. The next morning a 40-foot diameter burned circle is found in the field.

At 11:00 p.m. a dark gray, metallic inverted bowl-shaped disc flew over a farm in Van Horne, Iowa during a rainstorm, spinning counter-clockwise. It had a reddish-orange band two-thirds of the way from its bottom to the top, and made a noise like a jet. The witnesses were three teenage girls. A 40-foot circle of wilted soybean plants was found, but the plants were not bent over or crushed.
_______________________________________________

One orange-red star was observed by three witnesses one of them independent for two minutes.

(J. Allen) Hynek reported:

Two teenaged girls stated that they were exceedingly frightened late one evening when, looking out from their farmhouse bedroom window, they espied the ‘traditional’ lighted craft gliding away from the farmhouse, accompanied by a jetlike sound. The father of one of the girls, a farmer, had just that day examined his soybean field in preparation for cultivation and had found it in good order.

Shortly after the UFO sighting there was a light rain, and early the next morning the farmer went out to check whether the rain had been severe enough to interfere with his planned cultivation. To his surprise he found a 40-foot devastated circle in midfield where none had been less than a half day before. He had no explanation for it. He had learned of the girls' experience but had promptly discounted it until he saw his soybean field. The place where the girls had seen their object was not inconsistent with the position of the destroyed ring of plants.

I visited the farm several weeks after the event and saw the circular patch for myself. The leaves of each plant were hanging wilted from the stalks as though they had been subjected to intense heat, but the stalks themselves were not broken or bent, and there were no marks of any land in the soil. Everything appeared as though the heat or destroying agent was applied directly from above and at close range but without direct contact.

The object that may have been associated with the circle was reported by the girls to have been observed at close range from their window, then to have turned to the northwest (it came from the south; the girls were looking out a north window, and the field was to the south of the house about a mile away) and disappeared, leaving only an orange glow in the sky. According to their report, it was spinning counterclockwise and had the shape of a shallow inverted bowl with a curved bottom.

It appeared to be a dull gray-black metallic color with a circular reddish-orange band of light about two-thirds of the way from the bottom to the top. It was the illumination from the orange light that disclosed the shape of the object. No protrusions were visible, and there were no individual lights — only the band of orange light. In size it was described as three or four times the diameter of the moon, and one of the girls thought it appeared as large as an automobile would have at the estimated distance.

Because of local publicity the farmer refused to let the girls be interviewed by me but was himself fully accommodating in showing me the circle and answering questions. He wished no further publicity, made no attempt to capitalize on the event, and left me with the feeling that if the whole thing had in some way been a hoax, it would be difficult to discover any possible reason for his choosing to destroy a portion of his field (and by what means?) in the absence of any desire for publicity or monetary gain.

It has often been reported but seldom carefully documented that immediately after a close UFO encounter the top branches of adjacent trees have been found broken and the leaves wilted.”

UFO Report:
“The 1992 UFO Chronology”

Created: 15 November 2008
(NICAP.org)

Quote from the UFO report:
“This is currently a 10-page chronology of UFO incidents and events for 1992. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to Richard Hall (the original 1992 chronology from UFOE II), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online NICAP DBase [NSID]. You will note the many foreign reports that we are now being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us. As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to 1969) involved the expertise of two other team members; Rebecca Wise (Project Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns). Bob Gribble’s entries are those filed with the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington, now operated by Peter Davenport. Trace cases are now being entered with the help of Ted Phillips, Center for Physical Trace Research and retrofitted into previous chronologies as time permits. Since I was Indiana State Director (MUFON) at that time, some of our Indiana cases are listed here.

NICAP Site Coordinator

Jan. 4, 1992; Saga Prefecture, Japan
Late at night a farmer that had experienced strange cattle mutilations in the past was awakened by the sound of his dog barking. The farmer went to investigate and upon entering the cow shed saw a small white ‘object’ resembling a jellyfish with numerous tentacle-like protrusions coming out of its bottom. The ‘object’ was floating in the air; it then drifted outside where it vanished. A cow was discovered on the floor. It had a badly broken leg. (Source: Jenny Randles, Peter A. Hough, World Best True UFO Stories)

March 13, 1992; Bellevue, WS
10:00 AM. Mr. Hooker, the chief photographer for WFRV-TV, videotaped a cigar-shaped UFO in Bellevue, Wisconsin, which is a suburb of Green Bay. The UFO traveled from right to left in the frame, passing behind a windmill. Its estimated altitude was 25,000 feet, and it had a speed of 7,000 mph. (Source: Timothy Good, Alien Update, p. 257).

April 28, 1992; Lajas, Puerto Rico
A jet aircraft tentatively identified as a U.S. Air Force F-14 Tomcat was seen pursuing a domed disc-shaped UFO. The UFO would make multiple stops, and as the jet closed in the saucer split in half. The top half flew off toward the southwest and the other half flew off to the east. The F-14 jet remained circling in the area, and then flew off to the east. (Source: Timothy Good, Alien Update,
p. 30).

June 5, 1992; near Wanaque Reservoir, NJ
10:50 PM. Strange lights were seen and videotaped. The lights maneuvered about the sky, and faded in and out. Wanaque Reservoir has been the scene of many repeated UFO sightings, especially in the 1960s. (Source: Paul Ferrughelli, Computer Catalogue of UFO Reports, 1988-1994).

June 10, 1992; Coatesville, PA
4:30 PM. Several workers at the Lukens Steel Company plant saw a disc-shaped UFO land on the factory grounds around quitting time. The security guard said that the object touched down briefly and then took off in the direction of the old Coatesville Hospital. The company, a defense contractor, refused to let UFO investigators talk with any of the witnesses or answer further questions about what they saw. Attempts to set up interviews outside of the plant were also unsuccessful. (Thomas Carey, MUFON; West Chester Daily Local News, June 12, 1992.)

Aug. 29, 1992; Mount Seymour, British Columbia
2:30 AM. Three cylinders were seen in the sky at close range after a home burglar alarm system and lights were effected. The policeman witness was unable to wake his wife, but their baby reacted to the close encounter, and their dog became sick. The incident lasted 30 minutes. (Sources: Lorne Goldfader, Alien Update, p. 280; Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue 318).

Sept. 17, 1992; north of Gardner, CO
1:30 PM. A 12-foot long metallic object with stubby wings, and a clear dome or cupola, buzzed UFO investigator Christopher O’Brien and his partner while driving seven miles north of Gardner. It made no sound. (Source: Christopher O’Brien, The Mysterious Valley, p. 54).

Dec. 24, 1992; southwest of Monroe, LA
6:00 PM. Twenty civilian witnesses and police southwest of Monroe, Louisiana watched a silent, boomerang shaped UFO with bright beams of light pass over cars in a forested area and bounce up and down for six minutes. The object was videotaped by one of the witnesses, a 39-year-old man. (Source: W. L. Garner, Jr., MUFON UFO Journal, November 1993).”
