UFO Case Directory (Animal Effect Cases):
“Yorktown, New York
March 24, 1983”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
When a group of V-shaped lights approached and passed almost directly overhead, a family’s pet cat, appearing frightened with its hair standing on end and its tail straight up, ran into the house.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
At 8:45 pm, A Yorktown man with an aerospace background saw a V-formation of lights that circled his home twice. He estimated its altitude at 1500 feet and he heard a very quiet sound coming from it.

Jerry Karp, advertising executive, who lived a half mile away from the above location, noticed bright lights through his window.  He went outdoors and saw a V-shaped series of lights approaching and called his family to come out and look at them.  When the lights were at their closest point to them (almost overhead), the cat reacted as described above.  At this point the object turned 90 degrees and moved away.  When overhead, they heard an engine-like sound that was not loud but clearly audible.

UFO Case Directory (Animal Effect Cases):
“Ossining, New York
March 24, 1983”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
Animal Reaction Feature:
David Scarpino, accountant, was walking his Golden Retriever around the Ossining Reservoir at 8:15 pm. He saw bright lights in a boomerang formation hovering over a large tree a few feet away from him. His dog did not appear to notice the object.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
Scarpino noticed the lights over his shoulder and turned to see 12 bright lights as described above. He thought the lights were on one solid object and compared its size to that of a 747. He could hear no sound. As he watched, the lights slowly turned 180 degrees ‘as if on a wheel’ and started moving south at walking speed. The object again hovered. All but one blue and one green light went out, and then those lights blinked out. Nothing more was seen.

No EM effects and no physiological effects were reported.

This was one of hundreds of boomerang sightings between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm in Westchester and Putnam Counties.

U.S. Government UFO News Release Article:
“IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Establishment of Unidentified
Aerial Phenomena Task Force”

14 August 2020
(U.S. Department of Defense, Washington, D.C.)

The whole article:
“On Aug. 4, 2020, Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist approved the establishment of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force (UAPTF). The Department of the Navy, under the cognizance of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, will lead the UAPTF.

The Department of Defense established the UAPTF to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs. The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.

As DOD has stated previously, the safety of our personnel and the security of our operations are of paramount concern. The Department of Defense and the military departments take any incursions by unauthorized aircraft into our training ranges or designated airspace very seriously and examine each report. This includes examinations of incursions that are initially reported as UAP when the observer cannot immediately identify what he or she is observing.”

(NICAP.org)

The whole UFO case report:
“Night. Two groups of policemen about a half-mile apart, while in radio communication, saw a glowing orange-yellow, cylindrical object rise from near the ground about one-quarter of a mile away from one of the groups. The object ascended from a pecan grove between the two groups. One group of police saw the object between them and a higher elevation tree-line about a mile away. The object rose and sped out of sight. Its shape was compared to an old-fashioned water-tower tank. (McDonald letter, 12/1/68, Donald E. Keyhoe Archives files.)”

UFO News Article:
“Dark Blue UFO Chases Police Officer
As Mystery Objects Dot Georgia Skies”

23 October 1967
(The Times Recorder, Zanesville, Ohio)

Source: NewspaperArchive.com

The whole article:
“Police reported a rash of unidentified flying object reports early Sunday [22 October 1967], including a dark blue ball that a police officer said chased him and then hovered over this small central Georgia town [Newnan, Georgia] until daybreak.

The sightings were the latest in a series of UFO reports that began early Friday [20 October 1967] in East Georgia and spread into central portions of the state Sunday [22 October 1967].

Highway patrolman Jerry Goldin at the Mountaintop Manchester state patrol station said he was the first to spot Sunday’s UFO’s, one ice blue and about a mile high and the other one a yellow rectangle-shaped object with a red side about 100 yards above the trees.

Before the night was over, highway patrolmen and policemen from 11 different towns had seen similar objects. Reports came from such scattered middle Georgia locations as Milledgeville, Greenville, Newnan, Talbotton, Fayetteville and Taylor County.

Newnan patrolman Dale Spradlin said he chased a ball of light about eight inches in diameter for about eight miles down a road just outside Newnan.

‘It was a good distance in front of us, pulling away, so we turned around to come back to town,’ said Spradlin who was on patrol with officer Gerald Mascon. The object was travelling above tree-top level.

‘The object turned on us and followed,’ he said. ‘It was gaining on us and was going about 75 miles per hour.

After the object caught up with him, it pulled into the sky, emitting a beam of bluish light that illuminated the roadway, the officer said.

A spokesman for Warner Robins Air Force [Base] said he had heard the reports of the objects but that nothing was seen on the base radar.

The Weather Bureau at Athens said it had released four weather balloons Saturday night and Sunday morning, but a spokesman said it was unlikely they were the cause of the reports.”
