Keith Basterfield informs about a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, Northern Territory file (file series E1327 control symbol 5/4/Air Part 6) called “Unusual sightings and incidents”:

Crew members on board the naval ship, HMAS Adroit (operating out of Darwin) made two UFO observations on 11 April 1978, according to the file.

The sighting location is given as 12°5'S 129°54'E.
