UFO News Article:
“Deputy OK After Close Encounter”,
30 August 1979 (The Milwaukee Journal, Wisconsin)
Marshall County (Warren, Minnesota) Deputy Sheriff Val Johnson encountered a small UFO which damaged his car on 27 August 1979, The Milwaukee Journal reports:

Johnson first sighted the UFO at around 2:00 a.m., according to the Wikipedia article about the UFO incident. After having watched the UFO for a while, it suddenly dived at his car and hit the windshield. The car skidded across the highway and ended up in the ditch. Johnson lost consciousness after the UFO hit the windshield. The incident occurred in the Red River Valley, an agricultural area in North-Western Minnesota near the North Dakota border.

“Selective damage to car drives UFO theorists”,
14 November 2008 (Northbrook Star, Glenview, Illinois)
An unknown force damaged a woman’s car as she drove on Lake-Cook Road in Northbrook, Illinois on 4 November 2008, at around 9:19 p.m., according to the Northbrook Star.
No paint was removed, and it’s unlikely that the car hit a deer, since no hair or blood was found.
Quote from the article:
“ ‘ ... The entire left side of my car appears to be scorched but no paint was removed,’ the driver is quoted as saying on the website.”
Director of Illinois MUFON, Sam Maranto (not Matrano) has investigated this case.
