“Unidentified object reported by M/Sgt Bruce H. McCormick and A/2C Bobby G. Moore on the 22 July 52, between the hours 1845 – 1950 MST. Observed for one minute from Cessna 140 aircraft. A/2C Bobby G. Moore was the witness interrogated and he verifies the statement made by M/Sgt Bruce H. McCormick. Detailed report of the observation is attached in Part II of this report.

Part II

1. Description: Very shiny or silver type object.

     a. Shape: Round

     b. Size: Size of a jet aircraft at a distance of 7 or 8 miles.

     c. Color: Silver

     d. Number: One

     e. No apparent aerodynamic features such as wings, tail or any
         means of control.

     f. Trail of exhaust: None apparent.

     g. Propulsion: None apparent.

     h. Exhaust: None apparent.

     i. Speed: Steady speed in jet magnitude.

     j. Sound: None

     k. Maneuvers: None

     l. Manner of disappearance: Disappeared into cloud bank.

     m. Other pertinent features: None.

2. a. Time sighted: 1845 – 1850 MST

     b. Length of time observed: One minute.

3. Manner of observation: Observed from Cessna 140, single engine, two-placed high wing aircraft. Aircraft flying at 1200′ true altitude. Air speed 95 MPH. No optical or electronic equipment used.

4. Location of observer during sighting: Approximately 12 miles east of Peterson Field [Colorado Springs, Colorado]. Object first observed in the two o’clock position relative to aircraft. Aircraft heading ENE. Object appeared as would a fighter plane at a distance of 7 or 8 miles. Unidentified flying object heading ESE. Object believed to be at 3000′ or 4000′ higher than observer.”
