UFO News Article:
“FLYING OBJECT SIGHTED”
17 March 1954
(Maryborough (Queensland) Chronicle, Australia)
Source: Trove, National Library of Australia, Canberra, ACT, Australia
The whole article:
“AN unidentified flying object yesterday afternoon (16
March 1954) appeared to ‘accompany’ a cane train part of the way from Baddow to
Maryborough before abruptly changing direction and disappearing at a fantastic
speed.
The incident was related afterwards by the driver of
the train, Mr. A. Jesse, of 122 Woodstock-street, who said that his fireman,
Mr. G. Jensen, noticed the object first as the train was leaving Baddow station,
at 4.24.
Mr. Jesse said that the object appeared to be of a
square-cut shape and was devoid of wings, tail, propellers and other
conventional aviation aids. It was so brilliantly lit – apparently by the late afternoon
sun – that it was difficult to look straight at it for long. No engine noise
was heard.
Although he could not estimate the height or speed of the
‘thing’ Mr. Jesse felt that it was travelling higher and faster than the
average plane.
He said that the object seemed to glide along, more or
less parallel to the railway line, until it was roughly over Pallas-street.
Then it veered away to the north and disappeared in a matter of seconds.”

“SAW SKY ‘THING’ WITH A TAIL LIGHT”
7 April 1954
(The Courier-Mail, Brisbane, Australia)
Source: Trove, National Library of
Australia, Canberra, ACT, Australia
The whole article:
“THREE people rang The Courier-Mail last night (6
April 1954) with reports of ‘strange objects’ in the sky.
A woman living in Kauri Road, Ashgrove, said she had seen
‘a weird cigar shaped object with a glowing tail’ move slowly over the Taylor
Range about 7 pm.
She said she observed the object for about seven minutes
before it slowly faded from sight.
Mr. G. Howard, of Chalk Street, Wooloowin, said that about
7 pm he and several other people had seen a strange, stationary light over towards
the range. The light alternately glowed and faded and seemed to be surrounded with
a faint haze.
Mr. W. Macsie, of Manilla Street, East Brisbane, said that
about 3 pm yesterday, while he was at work at the Tennyson powerhouse, what
seemed to be a vapour trail appeared suddenly high in the sky. A dozen of his workmates
also had seen the trail.
Last night neither Civil Aviation, RAAF, police, nor army
officials could offer any explanation of the reported objects.”

“UFO sighted”
1 September 1995
(The Times, Victor Harbor, Australia)
Source: Trove, National Library of
Australia, Canberra, ACT, Australia
The whole article:
“The Times has received two separate reports of a UFO
over South Coast skies on Tuesday night [29 August 1995].
Ms Karen Lee of Port Elliot says her 10-year-old son
and nine-year-old daughter had called her from the kitchen about 7.10pm because
they were frightened by an object in the sky.
Her son Paul said the UFO was ‘big, round and red’ and
after hovering close to their house for a short time, Ms Lee said it ‘shot off towards
the sea.’
Ms Lee said an elderly neighbor had also seen the UFO
which had set his dog barking wildly.
Ferry driver Ross Tuckwell said he was in his yard
about 7.30pm ‘having a smoke’ when he saw what looked like a huge floodlight
in the sky over the hills near his Sorrento Parade, Victor Harbor home. ”

U.S. Government UFO Document:
“PROJECT 10073 RECORD (CARD):
DATE – TIME GROUP: 19 June 1968/
LOCATION: Rocky, Oklahoma”
(Project Blue Book, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.)
Source: Fold3.com, Lindon, Utah
Quote from the document (Page 1):
“An illuminated ‘object,’ glowing and very bright in
the center, with a great many white lights bordering the glow, approached the
witnesses from the southeast, descending at a 45 deg. angle. The ‘craft’ or lights
were rotating in a counterclockwise direction. Object made noise at first like
helicopter – then silent when close by. The two boys were frightened and took
refuge in the hay barn after two or three minutes. They claim positively that
it was not an aircraft or balloon. Dogs barked, presumably at object. Based on
evidence given, and unless boys’ evidence is very largely discounted, cause of
sighting is not known. No aircraft in vicinity.”
The case is listed as “UNIDENTIFIED.”

“Subject: Minuteman II ICBM Deployment
to SAC Bases in 1966 And The UFO Sightings”
By Daniel Wilson, 19 October 2006
(NICAP.org)
Quote from the article:
“In 1966 the Minuteman II ICBM was deployed to 5 SAC
bases, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Ellsworth Air Force Base, Minot Air Force
Base, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and Whiteman Air Force Base. Malmstrom Air
Force Base was also selected as the location for an additional Minuteman
squadron, and LFs and LCFs were consequently constructed at this base. The
first Minuteman II was deployed at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota, in
August 1965.
In early 1966 UFOs were being reported at these same
SAC bases.”

DATE – TIME GROUP: April 1966 (not 1959)/
LOCATION: Grand Forks, North Dakota”

Quote from the document:
(Project Blue Book (Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton,
Ohio) memorandum) (Page 2):
“Call from SSgt Levy ext 6621 or 6622, Grand Forks, N
Dakota regarding observation of approximately ten days ago by (blacked out
text) of McHenry, North Dakota. Phone through exchange Tolna, (blacked out
text). He is a farmer and saw this object near the Minuteman I-37. Sighting 60 miles ESE of Grand
Forks AFB. Looked like glass Bulbs inside of a ring. The sound was like a
tractor back firing. He has made sketches of it
It was at 8 pm that he observed the object. This man had reported it to
Minot but they hadn’t done anything about it so he called Grand Forks and told
them he had reported it to Minot and was worried cause the UFO was near the
Minuteman site. He hadn’t thought anything about it at first but then got to
thinking it was near the Minuteman site. SSgt Levy said the whole thing was
pretty well confused and the man had wanted to hear from someone on his
observation to fill out forms or something of the kind. Informed Sgt Levy that
we would send this man a form 164 to complete. Sgt Levy is going to send us a
report of his conversation and how the mess got into his hands. He would inform
the man that he was going to be sent some forms to fill out, and that he was
sure this would please him.
