Quote from the web page:
“This selection of ‘UFO
CASEBOOK’ contains the Blue Book ‘Unknowns’ and will soon provide the best
links to these cases (where available). Appropriate additions to these and
other Casebook files, in particular, those filed AFTER Blue Book closed down in
December of 1969, will eventually be provided by reputable private researchers
and official UFO organizations.

“1950 UFO Chronology
and Graphic Evidence of UFO Reality”
Created: 22 December 2005,
Updated: 13 November 2013
(NICAP.org)
Quote from the UFO report:
“This is a 21-page report on an
on-going project involving a number of people. With the help of William Wise
(Project Blue Book Archive), and Dan Wilson (digging out the cases from my
checklist), the task becomes much easier. But without Brad Sparks’ updated
list, the Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns, the entire
project would have been impossible. And our thanks also go to Jean Waskiewicz
who created the online NICAP DBase (NSID) that helped make it possible to link
from the cases to the reports themselves.
This was a very important year
in UFOlogy. Some of the best photographic evidence was obtained that year:
April 23, Red Bud, Illinois; April 27, White Sands, New Mexico (Cinetheodolite
film taken by camera tracking station); May 11, McMinnville, Oregon (Trent
photos); May 24, White Sands (Cinetheodolite films); June 27, Louisville,
Kentucky (Hixenbaugh movie film); August 15, Great Falls, Montana (Mariana
color film); August 31, Alamogordo, New Mexico (Project TWINKLE film). Even
more important is the fact that the April 27 White Sands tracking was a
successful triangulation!!!
Then there were all the
sightings and radar-jamming and radiation incidents at Oak Ridge (in
particular, Oct 29 & 30th). The Oak Ridge story included the FBI being put
on ‘immediate high alert’.

The article contains reports on
two March 1950 mass UFO sightings:
On 10 March (according to
NICAP.org), a disk shaped UFO hovered over Orangeburg, South Carolina for 15
minutes, then disappeared leaving a vapour trail (night-time sighting) and a
bright, disk shaped UFO was sighted over Van Nuys, Los Angeles (San Fernando
Valley), California on 8 March (according to the website, UFO DNA).
Quote from the article:
“Another flying saucer was
reported yesterday by residents of Van Nuys, Calif., who told police they saw a
bright disk flying about 400
feet in the air. All witnesses said they were sure it
was not an aircraft of any known variety.
Composer Eddie Coffman and
actor Reed Hadley and his wife said they studied the disk through a telescope.
Coffman said it appeared to be 50

UFO News Article:
“Flying Disk Reported at Sioux City”
31 March 1950 (The
Telegraph-Herald, Dubuque, Iowa)
A UFO, described as looking
like a straightedge ruler and as a disk, was sighted over Sioux City, Iowa on 30
March 1950:
Quote from the article:
“The object was seen by at
least eight persons, including several members of the Iowa air national guard
unit here.
Dr. Fred M. Bohmker, 30, a veterinarian, said he
saw the object at about 9:30 a.m. while pursuing his hobby of watching wild
geese in migration.
‘One particular flock of geese
went overhead, but an object remained above their path of flight,’ he said. He
declared he watched it through binoculars and ‘all I could think of was a
straight-edge ruler.’
Two other persons with Dr.
Bohmker also saw the object. They were Sam Baker, about 28, and Harlan Hyde,
about 48.
Cpl. Richard Kjos, 21, a member of an air national
guard unit, said he saw the object a little later. ‘It followed a T-6 (training
plane) right into the traffic pattern. It was white – awfully white – and was
blurred around the edges, mist-like.’
Kjos said the object appeared
to be ‘quite high’ over a highway near the air base.
Both the corporal and other
members of the national guard unit who saw the object said it appeared to be
controlled because it ‘made a smooth even flight.’
They said it travelled slowly
for a time and then streaked away at high speed. Some of the guardsmen
described the object as ‘like a dime turned on edge.’ ”
