“Taken Near Nanton; RCAF Studies It –
Saucer Photo ‘Best Yet’ ”, 13 October 1967
(The Calgary Herald, Canada)

This is an article regarding several UFO sightings that occurred over the Calgary, Canada, area during the summer and autumn of 1967:

http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=NGtkAAAAIBAJ&sjid=9XwNAAAAIBAJ&pg=4711,2569943

Quote from the article:
“A Royal Canadian Air Force spokesman says a photo taken in early July by three men prospecting for gold west of Nanton is the best in their files yet and adds that reports of other recent sightings have the ring of authenticity.

The RCAF officer says the color slide, taken by prospector Warren Smith, 27, of 3808 7th St. S.W., July 3, was sent for analysis to Ottawa. Upon being enlarged 50 times it appeared to have a domed saucer shape with a red light at the top and emitted a bluish exhaust which the prospectors themselves could not see.

The RCAF experts said the craft appeared to be about 40 feet across. One of the prospectors claims to have seen an object fall from the craft, and the RCAF spokesman said a helicopter may be sent out to look for it.”

Smith photographed the UFO 56 kilometres (35 miles) west of Nanton, Alberta, Canada.
