Quote from the article, “The Big Job Is Still Ahead”:
“Since the AF cannot disprove our documented proof of UFO reality and censorship, it is again trying to discredit NICAP. The following official reply to questions about the NICAP Report shows how the AF UFO spokesman, Maj. Maston M. Jacks, avoids discussing our documented evidence:

‘The AF feels that to attach undue significance to the UFO phenomena would only encourage private UFO organizations and provide grist for their claims and contentions.’

Major Jacks’ letter (copy at NICAP) also shows how the AF is trying to hide the powerful, unsolved AF cases cited by NICAP:

‘The unidentified reports,’ states the AF spokesman, ‘remain active until they are identified and at that time they are removed from the unknown category.’ ”

Combs, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, has denied published reports of a Navy ‘shoot to kill’ order applying to Unidentified Flying Objects. The press account, originally published in the Fullerton, California, NEWS TRIBUNE, has recently been revived because of an official admission by the Air Technical Intelligence Center that Air Force pilots have fired on UFOs. UFO Article (Blog):
“Flying Saucer Review Volume 6:
The Phenomenon”

By Dr. Michael D. Swords, 16 April 2010
(The Big Study)

The article contains a report on the 13/14 August 1960 Red Bluff, California, UFO incident:

The incident was witnessed by two California Highway Patrol officers and several other police officers and citizens.

The oval shaped UFO was first sighted descending towards the witnesses before abruptly stopping.

Quote from the article:
“It shot back up 600 feet and hovered. It was glowing and looked like a 150 foot long football. It occasionally put on shows of non-inertial motions with very erratic changes of direction and speed. It seemed to be metallic under the glow and had big light beams at each end. It seemed to be playing cat-and-mouse with the police as when they approached, it moved away, but when they stopped it approached. At greater distances, many other policemen and citizens witnessed the thing. There was a confirmed-then-denied mention of radar tracking. The patrolmen had fairly constant static on their radios.”

UFO Article (Blog):
“A Forgotten Piece of 1959 Research”

By Dr. Michael D. Swords, 4 April 2010
(The Big Study)

The article focuses mainly on two UFO polls conducted by John Lester of the Newark Star-Ledger:

Quote from the article:
“The mention was about a poll that Lester made of 50 commercial pilots about what they felt about UFOs and the way the government was handling the subject and treating the witnesses.

Lester did a much more ambitious poll than the one with the pilots. Taking a full month to accomplish it, he contacted 1000 government radar operators around the US and asked several questions: Had they seen UFOs? Did their radars track them? Were they ‘real targets’? What did they think about all this? Lester's results were far more stunning [for me] than the pilot responses.”

Diagram of the UFOs tracked by Washington’s National Airport radar scope on 20 July 1952. At A, 7 objects approach the Nation’s capital from the south. At B, some are seen over the White House and Capitol. At C, they appear over Andrews Air Force Base. At D, one UFO tracks an airliner. At E, one is seen to make a sharp right angle turn. Source: UFOs  A Pictorial History From Antiquity to the Present, by David C. Knight. (McGraw Hill Book Co., 1979.) (rense.com image)

UFO Article (Blog):
“DISCLOSURE???”

By Dr. Michael D. Swords, 3 February 2011
(The Big Study)

Michael D. Swords informs about different types of UFO disclosure:

Quote from the article:
“A few words about Type One. This has been going on for a very long time. It was the primary agenda item of NICAP, Major Keyhoe, Richard Hall, and many of the Giants of ‘ancient’ UFOlogy. It was an extreme irritant in the hide of the intelligence community and particularly the Air Force, and required a special Pentagon/Wright-Pat hit-team to thwart them in the late fifties and early sixties. The released insider documents describing this ‘team’s’ struggles to head Keyhoe off are the clearest statements of government deliberately blocking UFO inquiry that any conspiracy theorist would desire.”

U.S. Military UFO Reports, UFO News Articles & National Wire Service Reports:
“the battle of los angeles”

(Saturday Night Uforia)

Several UFOs were first sighted over Los Angeles, California, on the night of 24 February 1942.

Excerpt from the Wikipedia article, “Battle of Los Angeles”:
“Air raid sirens were sounded throughout Los Angeles County at 2:25 a.m. and a total blackout was ordered. Thousands of air raid wardens were summoned to their positions. At 3:16 a.m. on February 25, the 37th Coast Artillery Brigade began firing 12.8-pound anti-aircraft shells into the air at the object(s); over 1400 shells would eventually be fired [1]. Pilots of the 4th Interceptor Command were alerted but their aircraft remained grounded. The artillery fire continued sporadically until 4:14 a.m. The objects were said to have taken about 20 minutes to have moved from over Santa Monica to above Long Beach. The "all clear" was sounded and the blackout order lifted at 7:21 a.m.”

It was the contemporary news agencies who named the UFO incident, The Battle of Los Angeles:

UFO Report:
“1950 UFO Chronology
and Graphic Evidence of UFO Reality”

Created: 22 December 2005,
Updated: 13 November 2013
(NICAP.org)

Quote from the UFO report:
“This is a 21-page report on an on-going project involving a number of people. With the help of William Wise (Project Blue Book Archive), and Dan Wilson (digging out the cases from my checklist), the task becomes much easier. But without Brad Sparks’ updated list, the Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns, the entire project would have been impossible. And our thanks also go to Jean Waskiewicz who created the online NICAP DBase (NSID) that helped make it possible to link from the cases to the reports themselves.

This was a very important year in UFOlogy. Some of the best photographic evidence was obtained that year: April 23, Red Bud, Illinois; April 27, White Sands, New Mexico (Cinetheodolite film taken by camera tracking station); May 11, McMinnville, Oregon (Trent photos); May 24, White Sands (Cinetheodolite films); June 27, Louisville, Kentucky (Hixenbaugh movie film); August 15, Great Falls, Montana (Mariana color film); August 31, Alamogordo, New Mexico (Project TWINKLE film). Even more important is the fact that the April 27 White Sands tracking was a successful triangulation!!!

Then there were all the sightings and radar-jamming and radiation incidents at Oak Ridge (in particular, Oct 29 & 30th). The Oak Ridge story included the FBI being put on ‘immediate high alert’.
