(ABC News, Sydney, Australia)
The article reports on Australia Department of Civil
Aviation radar controller Alan Potter’s August 1969 UFO experience.
Potter was tracking a Fokker Friendship flight when
the radar pinged a much larger unknown object.
After a while, a much smaller object than the Fokker
appeared to leave the large echo before flying towards the airplane.
Potter saw that the two signals met in the skies over Rapid
Bay, south of Adelaide, and then watched the smaller object return to the larger
object.
The rotation of the radar took five seconds. In that
time – the large unknown object travelled 70 nautical miles to the north east. In the
next pass the object had disappeared off the screen.
A lot of UFO incidents occurred in Adelaide in the
late 1960s, according to the article.
