“A news conference was held to discuss an Air Force report on a 1947 incident in Roswell, NM, in which the Air Force has been accused of finding a flying saucer and subsequently covering the story up. Col. Haynes said that the report will ‘leave no doubt’ that what was recovered at Roswell was debris from a top secret Air Force project trying to detect Soviet nuclear blasts and ballistic missile launches. A video was shown in conjunction with the report explaining the research project. Following the video, Col. Haynes answered questions from the press.”
