UFO News Article: “4 GIRLS SEE UFO THURSDAY”

2 October 1965 (The Gettysburg Times, Pennsylvania)

The UFO was sighted over North Street, McSherrystown, Pennsylvania on 30 September 1965, at around 8:00 p.m., according to the article:

Quote from the article:
“The object was described as ‘looking like a bright golden fireball’ at a distance, but as it hovered over the tree about 50 feet from the ground it was seen to have a ‘bright shiny silver color’ with white light coming through its windows. It was described as being 25 to 35 feet in length and about 15 to 20 feet wide, and had a flat bottom with a half-moon shaped body. The object also was reported to have made a high pitched sound ‘like a spinning top.’

The girls said the object hovered over the tree top for about 10 minutes, and for a few minutes during this period completely shut off all its lights. After the object’s lights came back on it shot off in a southwestern direction toward Littlestown where there were reports it was again sighted.”
