The testimony (about his 11 April 1980 dog-fight with a UFO over La Joya/Mariano Melgar Air Base, Arequipa, Peru) was given at the International Press Conference, National Press Club, Washington, D.C. on 12 November 2007.

The UFO was first sighted at 7:15 a.m., according to Huertas.

Huertas fired on – and hit the UFO – but the bullets had no effect on the unknown object. Huertas flew a Sukhoi Su-22 fighter-bomber airplane.
