“Air Force Just Can’t Shake Off Saucers”,
3 August 1952 (The Sunday Star, Wilmington, Delaware)
This is an article on an official U.S. Air Force report that describes a UFO incident that occurred near the Los Alamos National Laboratory on 29 July 1952, among other things:

Quote from the article:
“An Air Force spokesman said the latest ‘mystery object’ was sighted zipping over the sands near the atomic bomb laboratories in Los Alamos, N.M.
A report from the Los Alamos interceptor wing said witnesses saw a ‘shining metallic’ object flying through the air for more than 30 minutes last Tuesday.
Even the unconvinced Air Force got into the act last week and sent jet interceptors chasing through the skies over New York, Ohio and California. But as usual, the objects disappeared.”
The article continues on page 3 (Google News).
I also reported on the Los Alamos UFO incident on 6 September 2010, but The Sunday Star article offers a more in-depth look at the 1952 U.S. UFO situation.
