“Park Ranger Sure He Spotted UFO”,

National Park Service Ranger Thomas E. Westmoreland and three of his colleagues sighted a UFO over the Tupelo, Mississippi sub-district of the Natchez Trace Parkway on 3 October 1973, according to The Dispatch:

“Missouri UFO Sighting May Be ‘Best In History’ ”,
24 March 1973

Hundreds of Piedmont, Missouri residents and residents in Southern Illinois sighted UFOs in late March 1973, The Dispatch reports:

Several UFOs surfaced from Clearwater Lake, Missouri (situated west of Piedmont) according to witnesses.

One of the best UFO observations was made by Oscar Wills.

Wills, an operating engineer at the Central Illinois Public Service Co. power generating station in Grand Tower, Illinois, sighted a UFO over a transformer on 22 March 1973.
