An Oslo-bound McDonnell Douglas MD-81 airliner which had just taken off from London Heathrow Airport, narrowly avoided colliding with a UFO on 12 June 1998, according to BBC News:

Two British Airways Boeing 737 pilots (flight 5061) reported a near miss with a UFO over the Pennines, UK on 6 January 1995, according to the article:

The incident was investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The release of the fifth batch of UK MoD UFO files (18 February 2010) by the National Archives also revealed two other airliner-UFO incidents over the UK.

An airliner had an encounter with a UFO near Glasgow Airport in December 1996 and in April 1997, the crew of an Aer Lingus airliner spotted a UFO during a flight from Dublin to Amsterdam.

An Alitalia McDonnell Douglas MD-80 airliner had a near miss
with a UFO near Lydd in Kent, UK, on 21 April 1991, at about
8:00 p.m., the Evening Times reports:

The UFO incident is detailed in one of the UK MoD UFO files that were released on 20 October 2008.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and UK Ministry of Defence performed an extensive investigation of the incident.
