Venice residents describe mammoth UFO”,
18 September 1980 (Sarasota Journal, Florida)
Two police officers, two Venice residents and a tow truck driver together watched a very large UFO (followed by a similar smaller UFO) over Venice, Florida on the early morning of 17 September 1980 (at 1:55 a.m.), according to the Sarasota Journal:

At approximately the same time (beginning at around 12:45 a.m.), UFO sightings were reported in Lake, Orange, Sumter and Lafayette counties (Florida), near Memphis (Tennessee) and in Southern Georgia.
